I thought I would make a thread that will give users the option to install different theme components to make there phone look how they want it without having to settle with parts that they dont want.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS
All Theme components will be in androidupdate.tar format.
They will need to be installed using Nomorootfs.

GREAT idea. Keep up the good work, I've been wanting to mix and match pieces since that first week when Myn was busting themes out.
Nice work incubus26jc
This really gives users the total customized package.
I'm going to link this from the main Warm Donut thread.
Thanks guys, I hope you like it. It took alot of work just to get this much done. Its definatly a work in progress. I hoped to make it usable from our phones browser as well. I will add more every chance I get.

Sweet thanks Incubus! This customization is great...
Also is there any way to extract just the standard Power Control widget from one of the themes?
SQSH?
For the users running SQSH version off SD, is there a way to install just specific widgets?

maybe from the original warm donut. use something like root axplorer to extract the widget out of the system\apps folder. Im not sure if any themes have the original widget.

just download the tar file and use 7zip to extract the widgets out and place them on your sd card. Then install them with astro.

Slick Pink Theme 1.0
This is a preview of a theme Slick Pink Theme I have just finished for CM5.0.8 users with MDPI displays (320x480) e.g. MyTouch, G1, Hero, etc.
This took a LOT of work, so I hope everyone enjoys this and I'm going to try keep this brief.
Beautiful colour scheme - I have used bits off The T-Mobile Pulse and the Motorola Cliq, but cooked up a lot of the UI elements myself
INSTRUCTIONS:
I have no idea how to create an 'update-script' for flashing, so in the meantime everyone will have to push it to the phone manually with:
Code:
./adb remount
./adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/framework-res.apk
As soon as I figure it out, or someone helps me, I'll update this post with the update.zip.
Everything is running really smooth, with a small exception to the music app (the bar at the bottom), but looks reasonably easy to fix, just a matter of finding the right image.
I personally like the white/sliverish bar, but if you guys don't like the white motorola status bar, i can change it to a black bar upon request
I also understand a lot of people are running Cyanogenmod 6 (too laggy on my magic ), and if you're lucky I'll try port it over to 2.2.
Wallpaper and launcherpro app draw icon below, zipped
I hope everyones loves this as much as I do, Enjoy!!
(Download framework-res.apk below)
Wow! That's awesome | , maybe recomend pink status bar with white icons but thats just me
OK, well I have the tabs under control. Shouldn't be far from an actual release, the music apparently is a bit of a mess though.

If it's using sense, it probably wont work, and will break the htc framework.
Super Eclair, Cyanogenmod 5 and other vanilla eclair roms only sorry
and is there any difference it phone's functionality between cyanogenmod and sense?

I'm not too sure what you mean, but sense is the custom HTC Skin that the system relies on when you are running a sense rom. Cyanogenmod rom is more of a stock android 2.1 experience.

Lol, thats a pretty gray theme for "chromatic"..... Which rom? Looks like it would be pretty simple to port. I've been working on a gray theme also.... Not done, but preview: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11212115/Pics/Ghosted.png
Made a metamorph, bored while backing up. I didn't add any of the themes xmls though so it may not look the same, tell me what is different and I can see about adding it.
Also, to apply this I had to change up the metamorph time, menu on main screen, bottom bar most of the way to the right...

Chromatic Rom
Its from the Chromatic Rom. It was a lite CM based Froyo build streamlined to run on the G1/MT3G/Magic. Fell in love with the rom and would like to continue the legacy even if only in style. I will check out your links and get back to you. Thanks!
Edit/
GTO777: That is a neat theme! Would love to see it on the tablet. Also Downloaded your .zip. Will give it a look as soon as I get in from my saturday night with the fiance. Thanks for your time

Looks great. I like the simple black. What realy sealed the deal with the chromatic theme was the black and red android in the corner of the notification pulldown window. I will have to poke around the rom and see if i can extract it and maybe adb push it in. I really apriciate your help and the port.

really digging the spirit.
Would you consider using the settings apk in barukku, the one that has the pull down options, in the spirit and other themes? I really like that feature alot... So much that i now flash barukku first, choose my toggles and then flash spirit, fortunately they sick. It would be great to have those options on all the themes. Also hoping that one day the dbms instead of signal bars will work.
Sorry if that is asking too much.

Can you guys theme Elite ROM?
Grilled Blue Cheese SandwichNow Available!
Love Grilled Cheese Sandwich? Love Blue colored themes?
Well now you can have both!
This is fezzy102's GCS theme painstakingly changed from orange to blue. I mention fezzy102 in the credits but I can't say enough about all of his effort in helping me do this. He really went above and beyond when it came to helping make this happen! I left most things alone other than colors but did change the boot animation to a matrix based one that I made blue and I also changed the bubble animated cursor to an ICS based animated cursor through a little editing.
This includes the following themed apps:
Apex Launcher, Android Browser, Android Keyboard, Camera, Calculator, Calendar, Contacts, Desk Clock, G-Mail, G-Quick Search, G-Talk, Gallery, Market (Google Play), Messenger, Music, Nova Launcher, Phone, Settings and Swype plus a few more that I forgot about I'm sure.
On to the files:
The Grilled Blue Cheese Sandwich theme:

The themed apps:
Gapps-BlueGCS.zip
BGCS themed Swype:

The home screen shot is using Nova launcher with Fancy Widgets and using Desktop Visualizer for the shortcuts. You can get the icons (made by iamthebigcheese) and wallpaper here:

It's all good.

I realized the market has been renamed. Duh moment. I did have a non fusion issue though. I can't flash anything from uot. I tried w/o success the troubleshooting tip on the front page of uot about cut/ paste some file from the theme to the uot zip package. Can't recall the name. Beautiful blue but I wanted to change the top bar cause I can't read the time.

Yeah, the clock is a little to blue, I was going to fix that but couldn't remember which .xml file had to be edited or which apk it was in lol. When you edit that many files it all gets crossed up sometimes.
To make things harder my machines were/are having issues compiling some apks so I had to send them to fezzy102 for him to compile/sign then wait for him to take time out of his busy schedule and get to them all just to see one or two changes in a color, you tend to loose track of the where and why.
Oh yeah, UOT only works for battery icons and boot animations on ICS and those are just the pngs at that.

APK Manager, Android SDK and Java 1.6 SRE and JDK! (Java 6 = sam
e thing)
Don't use Java 1.7 (also called Java 7)as it seems to create problems, went through this and apparently ruger94 and fezzy102 had issues with Java 1.7. You need Java 1.6 installed and in your path so Android SDK can work properly and the you can use APK Manager to decompile the apks, edit the files and hopefully recompile them. There might be some signing issues as well as it is a Collective rom but I'm not 100% on the details..
Info:
Theming Guide
This is from the above sight and will save some headaches when using APKmanager, this was the fix for almost all of my errors The usual location is at X:\Users\"usermane"\apktool\framework\ using your system drives letter and your username :
Advanced Decompiling
Sometimes, you have that pesky app that just won't decompile correctly. Usually, it's an app related to others, like a proprietary system app based off framework-res.apks.
When this happens, you need to ensure that the frameworks are there to have the app's recourse tables properly compile.
For either apktool or apk manager, find a folder on your computer called "apktool."
The should be a folder in here called "framework," and inside that, a 1.apk.
For an app that is dependent on the framework-res.apk in a specific phone/rom, take the framework-res.apk for that rom and rename it 1.apk.
Replace the default one in the folder with yours.
If there's a second one, like the twframework-res.apk for Samsung phones, rename it 2.apk and place it in the "framework" folder.
Now, decompile like normal, and everything should be good

I use Photoshop CS5 and a free program called RealWorld Paint, it just handles certain effects files better like the overscroll glow effect, etc.
Hopefully that will get you rolling, read, re-read and then some more as far as APK manager use, there is a lot of good info posted here on it's use.

I appreciate the vote of confidence but this was my first theme done using the SDKs and APK Manager and actually editing xml files. Heck, I didn't even edit the .9 files before this theme. So with 2weeks of ICS editing it would be a short write up to say the least.
