I noticed as soon as i loaded the rom my apps were missing. so i used paragon to re format the sd card and it still doesnt read the partion. then i reformated the whole card... and still no luck...anybody have any thoughts?

apps2sd on dwang!!

hi guys...
i have searched over and over how to make apps2sd work on dwang but there are some answers however no straight answer following. i am sorry if theres any other post in the forum that i may have missed.
so i have the amon-ra recovery...
i have partitioned my sd card (2gig)
32 linux swap
400 ext2 (already upgraded to ext3)
rest is fat32..
now when i goto sd card &phone storage.. i see sd card (following total space and etc..) and i see internal phone storage.
now when i download a app.....i see decrease on my internal memory. i even tried selecting move apps-cache to sd card from recovery mode.
i am not understanding wats going on. i need some help please!
once again sorry if theres already some post about this.
Its just cache from market its not relelated to apps2sd.It builds up over time.Do a search in market for cache and look for the cache mover, so it will be on your sd instead.
-Happy new year
isnt A2SD automatic on dwangs? usually all you need is a second partition in order for it to work...
hey i thought it was automatic too but it doesnt seem like. how can i verify if the ext3 has some usage? and i downloaded the cache mover now it took up so much space on my sd card. even after that i downloaded a app and it still seem to affect my internal memory! please help. i had my sd card partitioned and emptied (formatted) even before installing the dwang rom.....
You know its being used because you would have like 20~ free internal mem
Ace42 what u mean...i didnt download alot of apps. when i flashed with a full wipe i had abt 81 mb rite now i have abt 68 after having installed abt 5 apps so it means maybe not working i am guessing... and even after moving cache i dun see any difference in internal storage...
is there anyone who can be of some assistance plz.....?
Try doing the flash process again but leave it at EXT2 instead of upgrading.
but when i do flash...shouldnt i have a second sd card displayed on my phone in setting? coz when i did cyanogen i had two sd card option. first one being the sd card. second one was unavailable until partitioned the drive. and i was able to see how much space is left after i download and install an app....on the second sd card option. however with dwang i dun have that

i think its a dead sd

okay 4gb sd card and messed up on partitioning it with the console from the g1 so now i cant mount it or format it so is it dead or can i fixc it>?

Click to collapse
i have an 8g that randomly stopped working, g1 would not recognize it or my laptop. gave up on it. i decided last night to try formating it from recovery, i formated it with no swap or ext partitions. once that was done i put my 1g back in and put the 8g in my laptop to swap all files.
but id check this out first

its a free sd card file recovery. do it before you put anything on the card after formating it. i had lost some stuff i think because i put everything on my card before recovering the files
good luck
how did u format it from the recovery?

go to partition sd, then for swap and ext set to 0, and rest to fat32
oh i also am using RAs recovery, not sure if stock can do that.

[Q] nookie froyo 0.6.8 custom dumb question

I am gonna state that obviously this is a dumb question. I have flashed the custom froyo but can't figure out how to access the 8gb of internal storage. Can anbody point me in the right direction?
sd card or emmc?
You'll have to resize a partition on the card. I don't know if the windows partitioning tool can handle this, but i would think it would. Gparted on linux is nice for this and comes with basically every linux ever, including the ones that boot off of a cd.
The partition you want to size is probably the last one, and it's probably fat32. It is on HC anyhow. Haven't messed with froyo though so ymmv.
by internal storage i think he meant emmc
it is mounted at /media and you can access it through Astro file manager
what's annoying is that the browser doesn't want to save any files onto it.
sorry guys, it is emmc, i have the sd card partition thing down. looking for info on getting the full 8gb of internal storage available on emmc
i just need to have it available, phone storage says 793 mb available. i just want the whole 8gb to put stuff on
I was looking into this myself awhile ago. Specifically I wanted to reformat the ~5GB /media partition from FAT32 -> ext3 and mount that on /data. Unfortunately I gave up because the mount points are defined in the ROM and they can't be changed without rebuilding the ROM.
But, its still there. Like aijaja said, its in /media. You can use the NookColorUMS utility to mount it to a LUN and access it via USB. Think of it as an "internal SD card" for the time being.

[Q] [SOLVED] [Xperia V] Only 3.7 GB available from 8GB internal SD Card

Anyone used the V to backup and restore using CWM 6.0.1.2.
When doing mine, it reduced my internal memory to 3.7 GB rather than keeping it at 8GB.
Any ideas how ti get it back to the correct size?
Regards
Does anyone know how to completely delete partitions on the internal SD using adb or something?
I just want the full amount of memory to be visible again
Cheers
My internal storage got corrupted some time ago, wiping internal sdcard in recovery did solve my problem..
Why would you like to do it in adb?
I used CWM to create a backup, when it was 'freeing up space' it resized my internal SD card to 3.71 GB (used to be 8GB).
Ive tried a format in recovery already, but the size does not change, i want to know if there is a way to look at / manage the internal SD card partitions to see what CWM has done, and then format or restore it from there.
Cheers
.. Ok so u can't fill up your internal sdcard above 3.7gb right?
idk much about partitions..
But what if u mount the internal storage as MSC mode (instead of MTP?)
Correct, the internal card is just not showing the right available space.
I have not found a way to mount the internal SD card as MSC yet, been looking, so i could possibly then use mini partition tool on it.
I remember Doomload had a way for the Xperia S, could check to see if it works for the V.
i´m not sure but i have read somewhere that only 3,7 Gb is user available
http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=1398673
that´s in swedish can be difficult to understand but there is stated about it, i dunno if it is correct
Hmmm, i actually never noticed that, could be right all along then.. thanks for that, ill have a scout round to confirm if thats the case. Seems strange, why would 4GB be required on an SD card. Either way, at least i know it's ok now, haha.
Regards
[EDIT]
Confirmed, 3.7 available
