[Q] Update to Gingerbread via Kies from non-official firmware

Hi,
currently my tab is on firmware version PDA:JME/Phone:JMA/CSC:JME. This is the unofficial ROM which i've used previously (Roto). i would want to go the official upgrade path but Kies is complaining that my version cannot be upgraded.
i know there's a way to spoof the firmware version using Registry Patcher for Kies but i don't know what's the official firmware version to spoof into.
Can someone help me on this?
Thanks.

What I know is that the latest version of Kies cannot be patched anymore......
Try to downlgrade/flash a firmware from samfirmware (or on this forum) for your region..... Several posts here have downgraded and updated using kies.
good luck!

I think kies is the only official way to upgrade your SGS.
So, wait for Kies fixing this problem or go to http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm and flash one with odin
so the samfirmware is an official as in not my region but i am still ok with it as i am from singapore and malasiya has already got it... tks for the quick reply though

Need to have some restriction regarding posting new thread at least in development

OTA link thread *NO ROOT NO CUSTOM FW*

We need a thread where we can post Links of the latest OTAs. This is not a root discussion thread. This is no a custom FW thread. This is for Official OTAs sent out by carriers to be sideloaded in stock recovery. If you don't know how to do this then don't try. I'm not responsible for anything that happened to ur device.
When posting please include:
Link
MD5
Version that was installed before the OTA so we know what FW you came from
Carrier
Region
Model Number
