[Q] How to hide battery in taskbar ?

Is it possible to hide the battery icon in task bar.
I have 2.2 version in my streak.
I searched and found that if i root i can do it .
But how ?
1. Are you asking how to root your phone?
2. Are you asking how to hide battery in statusbar?
If your answer is 1:
Head over to your device's Android Development Section and read the HOW-TO guides on rooting/loading a custom ROM.
If your answer is 2, and you already rooted your phone:
Load a custom ROM with Cyanogen goodies. You can hide your battery and a lot of other tweaks/extras.

Someone on your devices forum might be able to make a flashable zip to hide it. Either that, or a custom rom is your best choice.

simplp make all the stat battery icons in the framwork-res.apk transparent while there still technically there but they wont show anything. To completely remove them would be more complicated than theme would allow.
You need to edit your services.jar as described here.

[Q] Font change question

Last night I was using Root Tools and decided to try out the 'font installer'. I tried out the 'Droid' font and was not fond of it, nor any of the other fonts. I reverted to the stock font but noticed the pattern unlock screen clock in the top left still had the Droid font. I tried getting it back to the stock font but have no idea how to do it at this point. I want to revert everything to the stock; I find all the other ones rather ugly.
Rooted Samsung Captivate - I896 - 2.1 Rogers
Any help would be much appreciated !
Edit: Even through the settings on the captivate (settings>sound and display> fonts) it won't revert back to normal.
I guess what I'm asking is if someone can post the default/stock captivate fonts and tell me how to 're-apply' them ?
There is a collection of fonts in the themes forum. I would try installing one of those, applying it, and restore to the stock font. Do this through the font selection in display settings, instead of that other app. Maybe applying and restoring though the "official" way will revert it for you.
I don't know what that app does. If it replaces the fonts in your system folder with a new font, that method may not fix the original font, but there is dozens of fonts, you may find one you like better than stock.

[Q] Paranoid Android change font?

Fairly new to this Rom flashing lark, so far have installed and am really enjoying Paranoid Android 2.16 but I would like to change the system font, as I don't like the one it comes with. Have tried a couple of Font Installer apps from the market, but they only lead to it not booting and having to reflash the rom.
I thought the point of custom roms was so you can change things to have them as you want? Why deny us this one (surely) simple thing?
Any help would be appreciated

I even have bought an app that installs additional fonts to the system.
And it's not even a root app... selecting a font is just a regular android feature.
Luckily i still can use my Rom Toolbox Pro App.
But with the other app i can select the font normally via settings...
and i don't have to reboot...
