Hey guys I already got as far as getting the MSL from both phones (the phone I am using from Boost Mobile is the Incognito). I have the MEID and the ESN for the Hero and I already flipped it but now I am stumped, what should I do now? I cannot find the MEID or the ESN through QXDM, I try all of these on this guide and they all come up with none of my numbers:
MEID

0x01422028
0x015B46DC
0x1876A658

Now I sent a message to the person who provided me with the guide(who is on this forums by the way) and I am just getting a tad bit antsy so I wanted to see if I could gain some help from anyone here. Oh by the way I could not get the MSL from the Incognito through USB Debug mode, I didn't get that to work so I just asked Boost Mobile for the MSL, and I am sorry if there is no discussion of ESN cloning on here, please lock if I didn't follow the rules or move if it is misplaced.
Yeah, not allowed to really help with ESN cloning since it's only slightly less illegal then murder.

I thought so. Do you know where I could obtain help for this? Please lock.
Why not call Boost and just say you want to do an 'ESN swap', ie, change your handset while retaining your phone number and legitimate account with them? That is, I assume you're talking about using your own account and handsets and not someone else's? If you're planning to hi-jack someone's else's account / handset ESN | MEID - well, then please just die.
Hi there sorry to intrude but I have a current boost account and also a Sprint account and I'm trying to activate my old HTC hero on boost cdma, and when I call they are saying its a Sprint phone and that we can't activate it. Any input for me. Please.

So you're saying you have an active Sprint account, and an active Boost Mobile account, and you'd like to use your Heroc on Boost, and something else on Sprint? More detail please.

I have found that every phone has the numbers stored at different addresses.
The best way to find the address locations is to use CDMA Workshop to save the readable memory locations and then use HxD to search the output for your inverted numbers.
ive been at it for awhile now and ive done all evo's al samsungs and a bunch of others but i can find the readable ranges for the HTC HERO please advise thanks

OK seriously. I personally have answered this question in extreme detail at least 30 times TREO is correct double posting is a big NO NO. i serously doubt anyone will give you a IMEI there is a easy way to do this without a imei number, but you need to search to find out how. furthermore a donation to XDA-DEVELOPERS is better than a IMEI bribe. you use this website for free, it does not operate for free.
so do the right thing SEARCH and DONATE if you feel that is the thing to do
(sigh)...what exactly do i search for i tried quite a few times before posting this. I used the search probably more than half the people on thi site, hence my few postings. I have been on this site forever just decided to register this year though. I am not asking for anything crazy, just a IMEI i dont care if the phone is busted and doesnt work, ATT asked for the number and i can tgive them mine because a Tilt will pop up in the system. I said it before and 'll say it again, i'm no newbie to the site. And as far as a bribe how about i will donate to the site for anyone who helps me out rather than donating to you personally.
oh yeah sorry about the double post!!!

go to wireless.att.com and add the media net feature. DO IT YOURSELF
Or search "media net" you you can read the hundreds of posts regarding this matter.
what are you trying to do?
you just wanna set up media net unlimited for 15$?
when i set mine up over the phone, i just told em that i dont have a phone for it yet..
they knew my old nokia is not internet capable..i called from this phone.
i asked what difference does it make.
she said .. none..
that was that..
Ive tried sprint to no avail, i spoke to 5 different idiots already. I know about cdma workshop but it was confirmed to only work on 1.5 roms. Is there any other way to get my MSL at all?
I ask this because i know windows mobile has an app that will retrieve your MSL for you.
CDMA workshop will work if you have 2.1. Also, there is no native app that will pull this for you.

How have you struck out 5 times with Sprint CS
They gave me the MSL numbers for both hero's in my house the first time I asked... I just told them we were unhappy with our ring lag and before I occupied any of their time troubleshooting or getting phones replaced I wanted to try adjusting the slot cycle indexes on the phones, no problem

then dont tell them you want the MSL, just tell them you have lost data. they will ask you to reboot to see if that helps. then they will take you into a secret menu and have you punch in a "code" that has six-digits. then your call may get mysteriously "disconnected" right after they tell you. that's how i did it once.

Ill try again the morning, thanks.
I got mine over web chat. Told them I needed to do a full reset of my phone, it was acting strange and I've tried everything they'd bother suggesting to me.
Call Sprint and tell them you are getting sprint pcs username or password is in correct error messages every time your phone tries to access data. They will have you update profile...act like you did that and it spun for a while while the error still came up, thenn say it failed to register. They will tell you to dial a ## code and give you your msl... act like you follow the rest of the instructions....
Easy...

It's the IMIE DEX

I don't believe it is illegal to unlock a Sprint phone to work on another carrier per se. It would depend on the carrier. For example, my carrier, while not promoting it, does not discourage the unlocking of Sprint or Verizon phones for use on their network. Several of their authorized repesentatives will do it for $40-$50. They advertise on Craigs List.
Now it is a different matter to mess with an ESN, or unlock a non-sprint phone for use on Sprint. But unlocking in and of itself is not illegal.

I agree with the rest of these guys but I've been on both sides of the river with a T-Mobile G1 GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications)which use SIM cards and now have an HTC Hero200 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) which DO NOT use SIM cards. As far as I've ever know or researched, only GSM phones could be unlocked directly from the manufacturer. I could be wrong but I'm not sure, just giving my .002. When I use to have my G1 through T-Mo,I was leaving for the U.S.Army to go to Kuwait,I called T-MO and told them I need the unlock code and that I'm traveling overseas for the U.S.Military and they gladly gave me the unlock code. I had to insert an AT&T SIM card into the phone and then it brought up the screen to enter the unlock code. Once that code was entered, the phone was unlocked to use around the world. It would run on the networks from other countries but not pick up great signal, that all depends on what frequencies the phone runs on. As far as unlocking a CDMA phone I've never heard of it being done but I could be wrong. If it is possible I don't know how. It IS NOT illegal to give info on unlocking phones though, here in the U.S. we have a great thing called FREEDOM OF SPEECH and FREEDOM of INFORMATION. Wish people would remember that instead of saying they can't talk about it,they can talk about whatever they want,it's in the Dec.of Independence,Bill of Rights, etc. That's coming from a U.S.Army soldier. I know the laws,I deal with JAG. Hope you find this info interesting, but sorry I could not help you!

This guy's guide helped me out quite a bit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OePkxGXsN0
You'll need to install the same HTC USB Modem driver for both the HTC Diag unknown devices (regular and 9k). If you install them in order, the second COM port will be the 9k one, and that is the port you want to use to connect. I got my SPC (i.e. MSL) using that and wrote the 56013 PRL to my phone successfully. It took a couple tries with the PRL as it always seems to do, but it worked the second time after I turned mobile data off on the phone. Just reboot after writing it, and it should be there.
Or just chat sprint. Just ask for the code ##xxxxxx# and they will give it to you (the x's being your MSL).
What if i am not using it on Sprint and want to use it on another network
I have asked Sprint for MSL codes a bunch of times. Much easier than having to mess around trying to get it. Some reps are stupid & won't give it to you. Others will say they can't give you the code and then proceed to give you instructions to reset the phone which include the MSL. I asked my chat rep when I activated my one for it. Gave it to me immediately no fuss. If they are giving you a hard time, just say ok thanks and leave. Then just chat or call back it's pretty easy.
If a rep is giving you a hard time, just say you are hard resetting the phone & you need the ##786 reset code which is the MSL (just don't say MSL to the rep). Just depends on who & how you pitch it to the rep. I'm just not afraid to flat out ask for it.

That means you're free to write PRL. It doesn't mean the SIM is unlocked. PRL is preferred roaming list. Find the thread called "Every Sprint PRL" for all of the info you need. The SPC = MSL though, so you can use that in your EPST menu as well (##DATA#).

Chatted with Sprint today, and the rep refused to give me the MSL (specifically, stated that he could not give me any MSL information at all) yet he gave me a 6 digit code he claimed would work everywhere the MSL might be needed. Might this actually be the MSL and he just said it wasn't so he wouldn't get in trouble? or is this something entirely different?
