Is there a way to...? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Turn off the touchpad lights while using the clock in nightmode?
I really like the green clock, but the lights at the bottom are a bit of a distraction.

Clock app brightness levels

I just received a Desktop Dock yesterday with he hope that my N1 could replace my old, very bright plug-in alarm clock which lights up the whole room at night.
Unfortunately the N1 is at least as bright, if not brighter when docked, even with the "Green display" which comes on after holding the brightness button.
Is there any way to lower the brightness of this app further while it is running? I have tried the brightness slider in settings and this seems to have no effect. If I can't make it any dimmer I'll have to go back to my old alarm clock!
Also, is there any way to turn off the backlight on the "Soft buttons" at the bottom of the screen? They always seem to glow white!
If it helps, I'm running CM 5.0.6
Thanks!
Try hitting the clock brightness button once to turn down screen brightness completely. Once the screen is dimmed, hold it to get the green clock. That doesn't light my room in any way.
Cheers.
As mentioned I've already tried this and it still lights up the room. Not to a massive degree but it is still lighter than my alarm clock.
Any other suggestions?
I had just this problem! There are some free alarm clock apps in the Market that let you change the color/hue/brightness, and for a while I was making do with one of them with the font color set to a very dim grey.
Now I use "Bedside" and "LEDs Hack", both from the same developer. The latter is free, and automatically turns off the LED lights when I plug my phone in. The former was $1.50 well spent, and automatically mutes the phone, dims the screen, and displays a truly dim alarm clock when I plug my phone in. Both restore things back as soon as I unplug my phone in the morning. Both are very configurable. I can't recommend them highly enough.
They sound cracking, I'll give them a go tonight. Thanks!
Press the dim button to lower brightness then hold on to it to put it in clock mode it will be really dim but I don't like how the buttons are still lit :/

Do you have the auto brightness setting off?
I have it on, and find that the green clock screen is just right (and a lot dimmer than our alarm clock light which I've now switched off.
LEDs Hack is great for taking the LEDs off!

back light notifaction issue

The backlight notification is very dim compared to the vibrant. Does anyone else have.this issue or is there a way to turn of the brightness?
Is the brightness of the phone too dim? Or just the pulldown notification bar?
I think he is talking about the LEDs for the bottom buttons. When you have BLN enabled they turn on with any notification you get. I have seen them be a lot brighter on the Vibrant than on my Captivate.
Have you considered trying NoLED from the Market? Works great!
I have seen some who have allowed the lights to be brighter by removing some of the coating on the inside but this requires disassembly which is not difficult but may be more than you want to attempt. Personally I love the fact that they are dim...the brighter lights attract your eye when in a low light environment.

[Q] Are there any led notification?

I know we dont have a led notification. but i saw a red led while my phone is charging and someone was calling me. and when i look my phone on the sunlight(not straight, with a little inclination) i see a black bar( darker than phone's top) left of the htc logo.
so, we have NOT a led notif officially. can we make it glow?

i think its a light sensor, if you ring someone and they answer, put your thumb over that bit and the screen goes blac, move your thumb away and it lights up again so i dont think it can be done
thats the proximity sensor;we have no notification led from what i can tell(i dont really need one though but it would have been nice)

but i saw it was glowing red i swear and that was maybe a bug cos the screen was in battery screen when i got call
it does glow red when you get/make a call but i dont know the technical details, all i know is that its a proximity sensor that activates when calls are involved or with apps(changing music with it etc)
It's a proximity sensor, it cannot be controlled. It lights whenever out needs to
Sent from my HTC Desire C
you can control the sensor via apps

But it is not bright enough to be used as notification LED
You really wouldn't be able to configure the light. It's part of a sensor, ffs

you CANNOT use the sensor as a notification led.
i was saying you can control the sensor with apps like wave control etc. not only when you get calls.
with wave control you can change tracks, pause the music player etc by using the sensor to detect hand movement.

By switching the sensor on and off we can make the led blink but as i said the led is not bright enough and will not be visible in most of the cases, it will also lead to battery wastage

How to screen notification light

Hello, I've been getting a blink of notification light around my screen when notification. It is of the same color as the app theme. For example, the screen blinks Blue around the border when messenger notification comes and green when hangout notification comes. I find it really annoying. I thought it's pulse notification but it's still working when I turned it off. Please note that it happens on display on proximity sensor. How do I turn it off on Op3t? Stock oreo rom.

Possible Mi 9T Pro Notification LED Software Bug

Hey all,
As the title says, I think there is a bug regarding the notification LED that's on the top of the pop-up camera. I noticed that because when I received a notification from Viber app (that in RGB lights it's normally purple) it didn't light up the notification portion but it lighted up the other led of the selfie camera so u could see blue light coming from the inside from the gap. (In other apps like systems apps or facebook etc. it's working fine)
So my understanding is that the pop-up mechanism has 2 LED chips, one on the left of the camera and one on the right. The left one is also illuminating the notification light. (or there is a separate 3rd one). Thing is, our notification LED isn't RGB, so some apps that wanna show a different color (like the purple of viber) mess up with the lights and turn on the wrong ones. I think Xiaomi needs to restrict the control of the led chips and fix this bug.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks.
The light is a pita ,IMHO ,had to point the phone towards me all the time, from the teardown I notice only two light of the same color tone, blue unit blue led,red unit is red ,mine is white which is blue led
