Anyone thought of making a beemp3 app for easier music download?
*of course to download songs you already own *

I have the same thought
Yes there should be an app of Beemp3. Cause too many tabs open in beemp3 while downloading a single song
I'd like to have such an app also!
I think you can just go into browser settings and uncheck "Open New Windows in Background" or whatever it's called.

Any way at all to keep browser open in background so that I can lock it and have something streaming still? I've been listening to radio 1 from the BBC and I always have to keep it unlocked and have the browser open....

You using it over wifi? Its probably the wifi going to sleep. Try changing its sleep policy (settings-> wireless -> wifi settings -> menu -> advanced
No just while driving around on 3g. I wanna stream a show in the browser and be able to be on my home screen.

the phone is probably going to sleep. I guess the browser isnt able (by design) to keep the phone awake.
You might be better off with a internet radio app?
Yeah I wanna be able to have the browser stay open and stream when I go to check a text. I figure people. Would want to know how to do this since we have flash now ya know? Trying to find an app now..
We'll see.

I think its a battery saver. Unless u mod the browser its unlikely u'll find a simple solution.
I thought beebplayer did radio too?
also there's an app called UKRadio that should work too
I'm trying to stream bbcs radio one. Well the shows that are available from the previous week that is.

Beebplayer worked like a charm for streaming radio and putting the phone to sleep. Not used it since installing FroYo but have the .apk on my PC. I might try it tomorrow and see if it works.
beebplayer radio streaming works in froyo (frf91). Works in background while you do other things, etc. It's discontinued now but I have the .apk if anyone wants it. Just pm me your email.
It's better than the official bbc option (which means you can't turn off your screen, reply to a message/email without it closing).
Skyfire allows me to keep any stream going on play in the background even after I go to home screen!!!! Thanks for the help though.

Ok well this is my first post here so right to the point. I have been searching for the best way to dl music directly to my bolt. Thought about rhapsody etc but i am already a subscriber to legalsounds.com. After a few hours of research I found a way to dl tunes right from legalsounds even though they dont offer any support for mobile or android etc. Here's the process if anyone cares. Please note this is using stock browser from VZW t bolt with the
"Download all files" app from the market.
Legalsounds.com > sign in > search for song > check box then " buy selected " > then click my downloads > long press title > open in new window > download should start automatically. Then just refresh you player or library.
Thanks
Sounds like alot of work.

This app does everything yours does but also has a search feature and stores into your native music app.
Thanks. I was hoping for an easier way. First week with an android phone.

I turned on my just updated to LG GB Thrill this morning and there was an unsolicited icon on the desktop. I didn't put it there, and in fact I thought I put a Calendar icon where it is. The icon does not show up in my app tray or in my list of widgets or shortcuts. It's a purplish icon with the magenta words "Games & Apps" in some futuristic font on it, with a white chess piece in the upper left, a white jet in the upper right, a white chat in the lower right, and a dartboard in the lower right, and it's labeled Apps.
I assume it was forced there by one of the few apps I've downloaded in the last day and half, although I wouldn't put it past AT&T. I mostly suspect a Roulette app or a ringtone editor, since the other few apps I downloaded I had been using recently on the previous ROM.
Is there any way to determine where this icon came from? (I want to rate down the app and uninstall it, at the least.) How can I trace its origin?
(I assume I can trash it, although I'm waiting until I find out where it came from.)

I'm guessing the ringtone maker, I've gotten these annoying ad app icons, and even annoying bookmarks in my browser that I can't delete or it will crash

Is there any way to verify this?

Download "addons detector" from the market and run a scan. Sounds like your getting push ads.

Thanks! It was the ringtone editor.

I'm having an issue with a couple of websites. I guess the website has an app, and every time I navigate to a different part of the site it asks me to search for an app that supports a function. It is very annoying. Does anyone have a fix for that?

Not sure if I am missing something but on my one s I had a task manager to see my running apps. Is there a task manager in this phone?

double tap on Home button, there you go buddy

I have seen that and used that but even after removing them from there they seem to be still active for example I was on XDA app and double tapped home then removed it but it was still open. Tried it with Pandora and Google play music and neither stopped playing music after being removed.

That's not task manager dude, that's recently used apps.
You need to go into Settings -> Apps -> Running apps to see your running programs. however, it's quite generic. RomToolBox has a better task manager. I'm pretty sure any task manager is better than the stock.
Actually swiping away apps like that is a task manager of sorts. Back when Google first introduced the swipe away feature in android, they stated this action kills the apps activity but not it's service (if it has one), hence why the music app didn't stop playing music, because that's a service not an activity.
