I've tried this one but failed.
Well, I guess the version must have been updated incorrectly then
It got me excited awhile there though.

SamsungFirmware's Twitter post 3 hours back mentioned this - 'Samsung I9000 ASIA firmwares 2.1 = I9000DXJG4 2.2 = I9008ZMJG1'.
I'm downloading both - will give the supposedly 2.2 firmware a try but am slightly concerned that it's an 'I9008...' and not an 'I9000...'.
Anyone tried ZMJG1 yet?
Looks like the 2 ROM released by samsung-firmware are not very popular.
tired of flashing new test ROM?

AFAIK, model number ends with an 8 are for chinese market. They also says Anycall on the phone instead of Samsung. They should have the same specification as those models end with a 0. for example Tocco was F480/F488, Omnia the ancient was i900/i908.

http://bbs.gfan.com/android-173001-1-1.html
This ZMJG1 is 2.2, but you need to ude Ares to flash it, anyone what to try it?
Do not flash this the ZMJG1 is for GT I9008 2.2 but the only problem is that the I9008 spec is a single GSM band 1900 Ghz.
For more infor about I9008 check this:
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas...me=N&application_id=371245&fcc_id='A3LGTI9008'
Wow, the china market for i9008 has a Froyo rom, nice indeed.
Also, it uses Aries Downloader and coupled with Shrewsbury-v5 adb suite, no wonder it looks strange.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLASH this on i9000.....I almost bricked my phone trying to flash that with odin. Using the included flasher didn't work. It will fail right in the start of flashing with Odin, and after that, phone cannot boot up!!
Lucky still can put device into bootloader mode, but it took me few attempts before odin was able to load JM2 into rom!

apparently they released the JH2 again but including a SPL fix, so people already on JH2 will need to flash back to JG8 or something, then flash forward to JH2 again to get the new SPL fix

I'm from Australia and my official Rom is DTJG4. This is the unbranded Rom as compared with the Optus version of the i9000.
from Italy, last official fw found in a galaxy i9000 bought by me last week is JM3. It's pretty solid with minimal lag. Gps is not good as it is in JM5 and over, though

If I remember correctly This bug is not because of the JM8 as I remember other people having it after they came from nexus phone 2.2 froyo to samsung 2.1 eclair roms you could be having a similar problem were you using Froyo rom before you flashed back to Eclair.

Hey guys!
I bought my Galaxy tab in turkey for a vacation, and when I came home I tried updating it but it can't. The only thing I get is : This version of the device cannot be updated.
I have updated kies to latest Ver. 2.0.2.11071_128.
I have searched several time, but no luck in finding what I wanted.
Sometime ago, my GTAB was Vivo branded (a Brazil's carrier) and Android 2.2 was installed. When I tried to update using Kies, it showed the same message.
After a while, my GTAB was sent to fix a problem and it came back with a non-branded ROM. After this, I could install Android 2.2.1 ROM without problems. So, the problem is because Vivo hasn't released yet a 2.2.1 ROM, so my device couldn't be upgraded. I can't have 100% sure that it is what is causing your problem, but I think it is a good place to start searching.
Thanks,
Ronan.

Well the answer is obvious. You already have the latest official firmware for your device.
If you want newer version you will need to go install a custom rom.

Sampro has uploaded a new firmware for us to play with:
GT-P7500_XSE_P7500XWKI2_P7500OLBKH1_P7500XXKI1
go get it here:http://sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-p7500/
And this is not my work and no credit is mine for this just posting my findings, the credit goes to Sampro.pl
Edit: still Android 3.1 Password: sampro.pl
Installed and booted fine, still rootable with old method.
build prop says its built Fri Sep 9 14:25:40
No carrier apps or other **** apps gets installed just samsung apps
too bad its for 7500. lol.
No one else tried this? Would be nice with someone elses findings from this firmware.
I dont think its as smooth as KI1, it feels fast but not as fluid as KI1. At first install i wiped everything with CWM and flashed the new firmware. And it was not as smooth as i expected. So i wiped my device clean once again(Factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik, formated system, data and cache and flashed in Odin with repartion checked. That has always helped in KI1 but still with KI2 i find it a litttle studdering. Will test some more and report back later.
Thanks for giving the review .. I would love to hear the updates from you nick
I am using KI1 now .. Honestly I dont see any reason to upgrade to KI2 since I assume the code is different due to different region release .. So hopefully you can change my mind
Built date is 9th of Sep and as I recall KI1 is somewhere close?

yep, it was 7th Sep on KI1. And i really dont like KI2 but i could be that i forgot the standard of stock rom , but as ii remember KI1 gave a much better experience. Maybe it needs some dev love and maybe then it will overshine KI1 but as of now i will go back to KI1 based rom. But dont let that stop you guys from trying this because it could be it just dont fit my device and overall it feels fast it just not smooth.

Its the vibrant firmware i need but i cant flash it it gives me FAIL on "modem.bin"
wow i think i just realized i didnt flash the Galaxy S 4G. Because of that when i try to update "4G" firmawre with odin it gives me modem.bin error all makes sence. Now only if i could find a firmware with pit and all the files to bring back 2.2.1 maybe and then go to 2.3.6 for Galaxy S 4G

The information you are giving is insufficient to help you here.
How are you flashing the firmware?
What version of Android are you in and which version did you download and trying to flash?
Link of the download source?
