[Q] Help with Recovery: Nexus One - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to go into the recovery screen but failing (i see the nexus logo instead).
Device is unlocked. I flashed Amon Ra's recovery image and tried - but that didn't work either. I flashed back to stock but that doesn't do anything either.
Each time I go into fastboot (white screen with a bunch of android guys) and then wait a few seconds (shows some sort of sdcard enumeration) and then select recovery. I end up staring at the nexus one logo from that point on.
Help?

Do you not have a recovery installed?

Is this different from flashing Amon Ra's recovery image or the stock recovery image?
The nexus one is unlocked. I put the device in bootloader mode (white screen) and then connected to my PC. Then, I checked with
fastboot devices
It showed the device
Then I flashed the recovery using
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.1.img
It did this:
sending 'recovery' (3948 KB)... OKAY [ 0.581s]
writing 'recovery'... OKAY [ 1.560s]
finished. total time: 2.143s
Then I rebooted the phone - got back to the bootloader and selected recovery.
It goes to the nexus logo and is stuck there

Just wanted to let you guys know that after flashing it one more time and going through the process again - I was able to get into RA-nexus recovery
Thanks for your help (if nothing else - for responding to me and keeping me sane)!

That was too good to be true Once I got through to recovery, I flashed cyanogen rom and rebooted. Now back to square one. Can't get back into recovery - nor will it boot into Cyanogen. Will keep trying.
Does anyone know if there is a way to turn on USB debugging mode if your device isnt booting? (wondering if that is an issue?)

this only work if you root ok download rom manger and install from theare you can install clockworkmod or RA recovery .

Once in recovery wipe cache and dalviche cache, also do a full wipe (first option under wipe)
Then download stock ROM, enable USB toggle in recovery, copy it and flash it and report back here

When you say you mounted the the sdcard on your phone did you do it in recovery using the command "ums_enable" or did you reboot the phone so you could do it from the Android OS, if you allowed the phone to fully reboot it will overwrite your custom recovery with the stock recovery image

after i flashed the recovery and what not.
i turned my phone off home and power got me to recovery
so i restarted my phone and put the rom on the sdcard from my computer.
so thats the wrong way to do it?
so i should it in recovery from now on?
Once you flash your recovery, don't allow your phone to fully reboot or the stock recovery will overwrite the custom recovery you just installed
So make sure all the zip files you are going to need are already on you're sd card when you reboot to recovery

[Q] Stuck on White HTC Screen, Can't Boot Into Recovery

Hey guys, got a problem with my M7.
My phone was working fine. Was getting ready to flash a new rom. I moved the .zip into my root folder.
Went to reboot my phone into recovery to flash it, but it gets stuck on the white HTC screen. Powered off, booted into bootloader. Tried to enter recovery through bootloader, but I still get stuck on the white HTC screen.
Any ideas?
edit: and now, the phone won't boot at all ...

Well I'm pretty sure just copying a rom to the phone didn't do anything to it. what else happened between then and now
Nothing at all. Here's basically what I did.
1. Backed up phone in recovery.
2. Reboot.
3. Loaded rom to /root using computer.
4. Attempt to boot in recovery ..
And that's it.

is the battery dead ?
does the pc load any drivers when you plug it in ?
does the charging lights work ?
Nope, charging lights do not work ... It wasn't a full battery, but was around 70% last I remember.
Ok, was able to boot using the bright light method.
Still no dice on booting past the white HTC screen. When I try to boot to TWRP through the bootloader, it'll show the TWRP splash screen, then automatically go back to the white HTC screen.

Reflash recovery and erase cache
you may have to format data in TWRP and totally wipe the phone.
also flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset from stock will rebuild the partitions and sometimes make the phone stable again

[solved] Can't enter recovery after 'format system' in CWM

Hey guys,
I may just have the most stupid thing I could possibly do. I've got a soft-rooted Xperia SP (TowelRoot) and opened CWM Recovery to try to install Cyanogenmod. It cited I had to 'format system' and I rebooted the phone thereafter. Now it's stuck on the Sony Logo and I can't get it into recovery anymore. Even by force-rebooting via the hardware button on the back I can reboot the phone, but it stucks at the sony logo.
Please help, I haven't got a clue..
Update: I can get into fastboot mode. However, my bootloader is still locked.

when you wipe data the cmw is gone....best thing to do now is to flash stock ftf ROM via flashtool ...go here and panic
Well, I'm glad all android phones have a fast boot mode, which I was used to with my previous HTC One X. I Quickly fast boot flashed a new boot.img and I had CWM back on. Then I installed CyanogenMod and I was done. Pretty easy in fact.
