I have recently found the Full Keyboard app in the Market; it's great to use in the Terminal Emulator and SSH software. After you install it on the Tab it works great, fills the proper part of the screen. The problem comes in after you do a reboot, after the reboot the keyboard does not scale properly and leaves white gaps on the left and right sides.
This can be fixed by manually doing a Force Stop, and then selecting the Full Keyboard again from Settings. Does anyone have any ideas how to address this issue without having to Force Stop and restart the Full Keyboard app?
The application can be seen here: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-hmw-android-fullkeyboard-npwE.aspx
I have tried using the Spare Sparts application to adjust the scaling ("compatibility mode"), but it does not seem to have effect on the Full Keyboard App.
I am still struggling with the above issue, if anyone has any ideas please respond. The workaround is rather annoying. Thanks!
One last try... does anyone have any thoughts?
I tried this on another Tab and had the same results, so I know it's not my device.

UPDATE:
I have found a keyboard called "Hacker Keyboard" in the Market. It is much much better for command line.
Hey folks,
I just flashed over the latest phiremod and I'm having a couple of small issues. 1: Whenever I go into settings > about phone and hit "status," it force closes on me before I can even see any info (like batt. status, level etc). Anyone experience anything similar and if so, found any workaround?
2: I downloaded and installed the newest version of Google Voice from the market but can't set it up. During set up, after I provide the number associated with it the next step attempts to set up voicemail (and obviously can't) so I just press the option to "skip" it, but whenever I do so the set up screen and the buttons go grey and just stay that way. Anyone know of any workarounds?
Thanks for any help!
Hope it's alright to bump this. Again, if anyone has any idea on a fix, I'd really appreciate it. (Of course, if I missed a thread or two about these same issues, feel free to throw in a link.)
Thanks!
Hi, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app is in open beta here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
I dont have a 2x and need testers! Please let me know if you are interested in some hard-core testing and logging...
Hello again - we really need testers, so dont be shy!
Hello guys, please get me some feedbeack on the latest build. Are sms blocking issues using "block and save" still present?
Weve been trying hard to iron things out, and have two new reject methods planned especially for cdma phones, so i will need some of your help to get them working properly! PM me if youre interested.
what would we need to do to be testers give us more details on what we log etc???
Errors. You log errors and then use the "Send debug data" menu item to send us the logs. We use our own logging mechanism.
DONT FORGET TO DESCRIBE YOUR ISSUE IN THE LOG!
Testing will report back
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
hmm.. looks interesting
Anything to report guys?
Updated, let me know if your issues are fixed please!
Its working very well for me - finally a perfect call blocker, thanks very much! When is the beta going to be over?
Great - but you asked about the beta in the main thread already... two weeks or so!
Hi guys, any feedback on the latest version of the app? We are just about to release an update...
Your application is great.
I must suggest a quick improvement for users.
Here, in Spain, phone spam is a big annoyance. It is great to be able to block certain phone numbers, but the source numbers grow fast and I would like to be able to directly load a plain text file with lots of numbers directly to the application, instead of going one by one to add to the black list. I could add one contact with a lots of phone numbers, but it still would be more time consuming and more difficult.
It would also help tremendously in case of restoring the phone from some problem.
Thank you for your patience and hope to be using this app for a very long time.
So far, so good with my Optimus 2x.
Why not use blacklist feature of android?
Congratulations for this great app. Works very fine for me

Has voicemail and google voice been fixed?
Outstanding issues have been fixed. Please update to 1.5.5 and let me know if your issues are solved. Its important we get some feedback!
If I block SMS, does it stop SMS delivery report in senders phone? Because my gf is annoying me saying I got SMS and still didn't reply her.
No, a connection must be made to know that its there...
Any issues to report with the latest version?
Hi All,
I am very new to galaxy tab.
I am running on official gingerbread, flashed following the guidelines on the site. Other than a checksum error it went smoothly and working just fine.
I have another problem though. When I hold it in portrait mode, trying to move up and down with my finger causes the screen to shake.
Somerimes more sonetines a little less but it is always there.
In landscaepe mode it almost does not exist, working smooth.
I tried doing a lot of search but could.not find anything on it.
unfortunately I did not pay attenrion if it was hapening on stock froyo, did not stay on that long enough.
Charging or not does not affect it.
Being suspicious about screen protector I rwmoved it but no change
Did anyone else experience anyrhing similar?
Thanks in advance for help.
Same problem here
Hi, I have the same problem here, I did woked on froyo for about a day or two, and the problem was not there, I upgraded to Overcome 2.0 and the problem is now there.
Similar to you, on landscape the problem is less evident, but still there.
In my case, on you-tube application, I don't have any shacking.
I hope someone finds a solution, problem seems to be software-based.
I just checked it, you are right, youtube does not present the same problem.
Lets hope for a solution from the experts.
Cheers
anyone?
this shaking is driving me nuts......the screen shakes so much when held down down that it pretty much renders google maps unuseable.
HELP PLEASE!!!
is it a screen sensitivity issue that we can tweak or something?
i've been googling for a month for answers now but no luck...
please please...
Similar topic in XDA
Hi guys, there is a similar topic here in XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14354988&posted=1#post14354988
I have the same problem in my Galaxy Tab, and I show in a page in fgfaria.com
I now suspect it may be a deffect in some specific feature in some library used by some apps and not used in other apps.
I installed Android SDK in my PC, and created an simple app following a tutorial, with a list of countries that can be scrolled up and down. In this very simple app, the problem doesn't happen, just like youtube.
I've found an app that could potentially solve the problem, but my GT is not rooted, and can't use it. It's called "ILITEK Touch Utility" and it's available for free in Android Market.
Let me know if it's useful for any of you.
Regards,
Fabio
My tab does exactly the same thing as per your weblink.
The app i have download but once i hit the calibrate button, I somehow get denied access.
Any way around it? This shaking is getting old......sigh
Software, not hardware
Hi all,
In addition to touch test apps and youtube app, there are some other apps that don't present the problem. One specific interesting case is the one of the HelloListView tutorial presented in Android Developers website.
I've followed the tutorial, and created this illustrative app that just creates a list and allows you to scroll up and down. This specific app doesn't present the problem we've been discussing. I've made it available for download as apk file in the end of that same testing page (fgfaria.com)
That application being so simple and not presenting the problem, and the other apps that also don't present it, makes me think that the problem may appear when some specific library gets included in an app. Possibly something related to hardware acceleration, for example (just guessing, no specific reasons to believe that).
If only we could isolate the cause of the problem, we could notify Google and/or Samsung and influence a new patch release.
This is as far as I have gone so far. Ideas, reactions?
Regards,
Fabio

Hi Chris, I believe the denied access is because the GT is not rooted. The app must need access to pretty low level adjustments, and only rooting the device would make that possible.
I have the same messages in my GT, but rooting is kind of my last option to solve this.
My current options are:
1) Wait for an official Gingerbread update
2) If that doesn't solve, I'll contact my factory warranty
3) If they deny this is a problem, or if they can't fix it, I'll try rooting and using this app
While the first option is not available, I'll continue my search for another fix.
Cheers,
Fabio

Another possible explanation for the problem not happening in the app from the tutorial is that libraries being used include some kind of filter not used in problematic apps...
mine shakes but not noticable,.. i didn't notice this on froyo
Hi,
Thank you all for responses. I have been searching too but did not find anything.
However I have a theory.
The screen shaking phenomenon does not happen (or unnoticably little) when you are on a dark screen. Web browser included.
Is this your observation too?
Cheers
mine do shake even if its dark, originally i found this "bug" couple of days ago, when im in bed late at night, i initially thought that the shaking was via my finger, and was surprised to see this post a while ago
Note: My tab is rooted because I'm currently running the Overcome 2.0 RC1 rom.
*major headache *
Fully agree! Mine shakes only in light background! Same problem, but in this case, it looks more like a hardware issue than software (intuitively, at least, hardware is more likely to be affected by screen luminosity than software). The solution though, could be a software filter of fast screen movements...
Anyone? There is a solution for Galaxy S (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844216&page=3#). There must be a solution for Galaxy Tab 7 too...
Hi everyone,
Is the same problem happening in the new 2.3.3 asia roms?
Do you have any experience?
Cheers.

Where can the new room be found? I'd like to give it a try, is the Overcome golden 2.3.3 Asia room?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I was referring to official asia roms.
They are available in samfirmware.com but I have not tried myself.
Cheers
Anyone found a solution yet?
