WTF Gradient

Hey,
My Desire HD shows gradient wallpapers/pictures like it's 1994. While i'm in the browser everyhing is OK, but when i save the freakin pictures, i get someting like this (I'm not rootet, so i can't take screenshots. **** you Android!)

Why is this happening? I got 16 f****** million colors. If this is the best Android can produce, i'm going back to iOS.

LOL @ This thread.
The best application for setting wallpapers is Wallpaper Plus.
Wallpaper Set and Save also does the trick.
HTC Sense's Gallery Application is just as horrid as Gallery 3D.
Don't use either of them to set your wallpaper.
And if you really wanted to go back to iOS after running into that minor error you should because you certainly don't appreciate the choices you've been given. Unlike iOS Android doesn't come with the best applications out of the box. You're gonna have to get to know your phone and the system it's running. Android is extremely powerful and flexible. You can make Android anything you ever want. And you just made a thread about the bad banding Gallery gives and how you want back to iOS. It's .. amazing.

Does anyone know what theme is being used here... in specific regards to the notification bar/icons?

any app that can do this for the loockscreen?

This is due to surface dithering not being enabled I think. I'm trying to figure out how to turn it on on a ROM I'm building but no luck so far.

what for widgets is he using? i want it too

Bootscreens

I've managed to get some boot animations working for CWM on the Fascinate. I'll be putting up the links a bit later, but if anyone has any requests, feel free to post here and I'll see what I can do.

Cool, my biggest issue is it's hard to find previews of what they look like before being installed. Im using the aperature science one atm.

Yeah, I had that one for the longest time. The sound got a tad annoying after a while though .
I'm going to try to get the links up asap, but there's a thread on the main android themes section IIRC that has a bunch of boot animations. Link them here and I'll get you a cwm file for them.

There for a while I was wanting one of Street Fighter IV, or Green Lantern with the symbol and the qoute about the Darkest Night and Brightest Day.

I think the plain android green one that Vanilla Froyo and Kaos are using would be sweet

How about a green android just walkin or movin around all cool on the screen? No sound.

I think you should be able to grab the bootanimation.zip from that. If you can't, let me know and I'll dig around for you.

Don't really see why you need a CWM zip for a boot animation. Just adb push it to /data/local/

That's where I got them. Although the second one isn't up there anymore (I had to modify the images to make it actually work)

Is there anyway you could do the start up boot animation from the fascinate's first section(the galaxy S part), then splice in the Galaxy S bootup found in rom manager to replace the verizon part...just have this section loop until bootup is done?
I like our galaxy S animation since its larger and fragmented, it might go well with the one that's found in rom manager.

I'll take a look at it when I get home.

(request) TSM design help

Hey guys, we are looking for a good TSM logo...not forum sig badge which we have or header (like in com rom/miuiwiz op) but something more akin to the cm android guy (bad example but a quick logo to stick on things)
if anyone good with graphics wants to help us out we d appreciate it...otherwise omj will be forced to come up with something!
also if anyone would want try and make tsm wallpapers 960x800 to package into launcher2 that would be appreciated as well...you can contact either me, omj, or sbrissen if you have any ideas, or concepts

1. a logo (for lack of a better of example) something akin to how cm has the cyan colored android
2. any wallpapers that would somehow incorporate that to be put into our launcher2

Edit: I stole mc's pirate theme and I got a green pirate android. Is there anything specific your looking for, exmp (Cyanogens Skateboard, blue spinner) And do you want a stock android or a specific color?

@MuffStuff: What do you think about moving the letters to the bottom, enlarging the flag, and putting the Superuser logo on it? It works well with the pirate theme IMHO.

[MOD]Insane Clown Posse/Psychopathic Records Sense 3.0 Lock Rings

First off I want to thank jmaher1023 for his tutorial on how to create Sense 3.0 lock rings. Without that I would not have been remotely able to create these.
With that being said here are three lock screens for all the Thunderbolt carrying Juggalos.
There are three here:
The first is just the basic Hatchetman with no circle or background. Just the straight up murderous red madman.
The Second is a similar Hatchetman but he is surrounded by a red circle.
Finally We got the Psychopathic Records logo. Complete with circle and yellow covered hatchet.

Psychopathic Records Logo
These are flashable through clockwork. With any MOD or ROM I am not responsiable if you **** your phone up or jump head first into a nasty neden.
As always ninjas do a full backup before applying these just in case. They work for me and I am using BAMF 2.1 but they should work for BAMF 3.0 as well.
If you all want me to make any more Psychopathic rings just shoot me the artwork you want and I will see what I can do. 2 Whoops.

I thought you would find this interesting. There are 4 new photo's spotted by someone who shot them in a Media Markt/Saturn somewhere in The Netherlands. I found this on a Dutch site called Androidworld. Here are the photo's:

As you can see, this lucky guy managed to get and use the Nexus already. Discuss!

Probably a store manager who demo'ed it to some employees. There are additional apps, which shows at least a decent amount of time with the device. Perhaps someone carrying it around as a teaching tool?
I'm hoping it's there already though. I can't imagine it would be too difficult to go there (Heerhugowaard) and snoop around with some of the more knowledgeable-looking employees.

On my monitor it doesn't look that black, compared to the bezel. The Gnex in that sort of lighting would appear ink black.

I've heard this is the best screen for smartphones ever (on the optimus G, I guess its the same one..). So it should be amazing on blacks, whites, and everything in the middle. Oh, and super bright too!

Damn, it does indeed look like an AMOLED in terms of contrast!

Check out this table and see for yourself. It's definitely not capable of showing true black, but that was to be expected. The Nex4 does indeed sport the same screen as the [scratch Gnex, stupid me] Optimus G.

Remember though, LCD screens will be blacker in light areas, but in a dark room it will show that off black we see, more like grey.

On the second photo, there's a folder named 'LG' on the homescreen. That's not bloatware is it??

Is that a typo? Surely the Nex4 is nothing like the Gnex. I, for one, will glad to see something similar to the One X, which many declare has the best screen of any smartphone.

Am I the only person who can't stop thinking about the App Drawer, I mean, look at all those apps! They fit so many to one page.

You can use 5x5 grid in app drawer using Nova Launcher..
