now the reason he got convicted because he got caught in lies. the whole point of this thing was for him to tell the truth. if he did, some very important people would have had to go down. like, carl rove. carl rove would have been in the hot seat and would have had to name names. and he would have named the big ****. and it would be all down hill from there.

thats exactly my point here. he had a chance to be a man, or a pawn of the establishment. and he conformed to protect the very people that put him in harms way to begin with.
this transcends party lines. lets forget for a minute that clinton, bush sr, regan, and nixon have all pardoned people. is that the excuse now, because your predecessor has pardoned people, you have to? why can't each man stand on his own record? bush has made it clear that he will not hand out pardons and sentence commutes to the guilty. why should he turn back on his word now?

that was perfect. the only thing ill add is that... there is nothing wrong with a "war on terror". but we cannot, or should not terrorize people to stop terror. all its doing is helping recruit more terrorists. i have family in the armed forces. so i feel sorrow for the troops who have died because of this war. but on a human level i also feel for the 30,000+ civilians (women and children, and innocent men) that died in iraq. how can we force a democracy on a country that ever asked for it in the first place. the last country that tried force something on us, we kicked their ass (england, lol). why can't the same logic go into our foreign policy?

I come from a military family. My mom, dad and step dad served, my grandpa served, 2 uncles served, my husband served...I have a strong dose of patriotism running through my veins. That said, it is appalling what the troops and their families have had to endure under the Dubya Admin. An article 36 was filed against a soldier in Hawaii for refusing to go to Iraq and (as he stated it) be forced to murder innocents in the name of oil. If found guilty, his military career will end, he will do time, and will forever have problems getting a good-paying job, as the article 36 and dishonorable discharge will forever follow him. He will lose any pension and VA benefits. All for standing up for his beliefs. Libby?? He gets first a slap on the wrist, follow by a presidential release to serve time. WTF????? WTF????? WTF?????
I will always support the soldiers. They and their families make so many sacrifices for crappy pay, and possibly death....but I do not and will not support Dubya and his lies. His "war on terror", or rather fight to control oil producing countries. Saddam is dead. Where is Osama, and why hasn't he been brought in? It is no longer a terrorist hunt, it is an issue of Dubya insuring his oil buddies interests, rather than the interests of U.S.
Libby was (I'm sure) aware of this, and probably knew of items proving this...he "took one for the team" so to speak, and for doing so, Bush covered his @ss. Just one more thing I wish to use as a nail in the coffin of Dubya's lying, cheating presidency.

bush, nor his cabinet can relate to a homeless family in la or new york. to a lot of people, they have the mind set of "why can't they just get a job". they dont understand the social ills in the innercity or how to change them. most of the guys who make the laws were born with a silver spoon, most of the guys who look up to them are dirt poor.
p.s. thats whats really wrong with the republican party. their base is so blind that they dont even realize that their representatives dont even represent them. i always find it amazing when i have a discussion with a middle class white person that they are republican and dont even know why. their party does absolutely nothing for them.
dont blame the troops though. they take advantage of what options are available to them. the armed forces recruit in the inner cities and the poor rural areas because they know those people hardly other options. it is only after they get out of the military that they understand what was really going on all along. while in the military i think they feel they have an obligation to not question their leaders. i guess they see that as insubordination. however, leaders are human too. and they are also american.
i'll end by saying this. i can't stand when another american questions my patriotism because i am against this war. i was against this war from the start. when it was UNCOOL to speak out against the war. and i still am against the war. i support the troops but i do not support what they are doing in iraq.

Im not gonna tell the whole story but monday there was a bomb threat, nothing happend. Today there was a rumor that there was going to be a school shooting during the peprally for tomorrows basketball game. Half the people wernt there at school so we just messed around all day. Anyways they found 3 guys with guns and the girl that had the bombs (Im not sure if she had them with her but it kinda sounded that way when the cops were talking about it) but they were all at school when they found them. Think of how bad that would of been if they started shooting and the bomb went off with everyone packed in the gym. Theres 2500 people at my school.
I think i counted 15-20 local cops and 2 or 3 FBI agents. Along with the local bomb squad. The cops were there the whole day and the others got there around lunch.

Alan, the problem you are facing while 15... well... most of the people here already faced it. At that age, love is a game, and your hormones are affecting you too much for you to be able to react properly.
The Chinese have a saying, "There is no happiness if love is forced" (don't you dare snark me here), so you can't make her like you. If she does, then all is well. If she doesn't... that's too bad for her.
It is vital for you to realize that there are plenty more fishes in the sea. The fields are full of flowers.

I guess, from my friend's anecdote, it is time to wake up and smell the forest.
Love... well... it is a matter of hit and miss. Fate will always have a hand in your (attempt to find) happiness. Maybe the fate is there, but the time is not right.
Getting a girl to like you will depend on the time frame that you are looking for. ONS will have a vast difference with someone you want to marry. I haven't been 15 for a long time, but back when I was 15, I was stupid, crazy and too courageous for my own good.
I chose to be single, and was glad to remain single for a long time. I flirted with every single pretty girl, and I sowed confusion by throwing gifts at girls whenever I can get away with it. It made me a lot of enemies in the school (That girl is mine, punk! Bla, bla, bla) but it was fun (for me). It got me into a lot of fights too (gangster's chick story another time).
But what was important was that I acted like a [email protected]@rd to the one girl I really liked. We argued a lot and she alluded that she is not ready to be in a relationship with anyone at that age. So I made fun of her, teased her about every single thing, had her chase me for what was the entire school block, etc. Good times...
Anyway, what happened after that was kinda creepy. I found out that she had a crush on me from day one, but didn't dare to admit it (this is Malaysia, after all, what with conservative parents, etc.). She was, ultimately, turned off because I would flirt too much. In the end, she hooked up with another guy (I was kinda proud that I set it up) and everything was history. Or at least geography because I had to move to another state.
So, what I'm trying to say is, just to be yourself and be honest. If she rejects your true and honest qualities, chances are she doesn't really like you. Even if she does like you, not having the chemistry to spark off the romance will simply cause another heartache.
Since you are still young, I really do suggest that you treat it as a game, in that you'll win some, and you'll very likely lose some.

Basically give them a few compliments, make them laugh and walk away and make them come back for more. If they start talking to you after the first time you meet them, that's when they are starting to like you, from then on it's just playing it cool and making the right moves at the right time, but don't wait too long because then comes "THE FRIEND ZONEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Hey guys.
Something horrible happened to me today.
Here goes: Me and my other two friends, Adrian and Argelio were riding our bikes for like an hour outside. We rode everywhere and had no problems with anyone.
We turn at a school where we see a group of 5 kids all dark clothed and looking a little cholo. We ignore them and I'm just talking to my friend when suddenly we all hear the word ******. I just laughed and said "I love you too" they stop and all of them turn around and said something so we just ignored them. About 50 feet away now from them we were about to turn the corner and I decide to scream "I love you too" because all I was hearing was talking and screaming from them. WE suddenly see two of them on a bike and one running. Towards us.
We start peddling faster and like another 100 feet from them.......the damn bike chain gets loose so my friends are on their bikes and I have to run like 1/2 mile to my house with the damn bike on my side. My heart was pounding and I just kept running. We go to my house and this time I call my sister out thinking she might know some of them....turns out they're all in gangs and had knifes with them so I told her if she could come with us and talk to them....we went again and found them at a park...all of a sudden my sister and my friends all say.."RUN!" They want you so run, don't look back, they're gonna kill you. I started laughing and thinking "THIS ISN'T REAL" So I stayed thinking I could confront them and try to talk but one of them was just running at me saying. "Come on 1 on 1 pu**y, come, right here right now b*tch. I said, "I just wanted to say Hi" Now I though to my self ...Do I wanna live or get jumped and get rushed to the hospital....LIVE So I took all of my friends' advice and just rode. Luckily I run track and cross country so I had wayy more stamina than them..I go around the neighborhood and hide at home for a while....you might be thinking but cant you 10th grade friends beat them up?....no there was only 1 my age and the rest of my friends were like 12 year old because my real friends are lazy and play black ops......So they are no use to me in helping....
My friends and sister came back and told me "Alan you lucky son of a b*tch, my homeboy AJ called of his homeboys to chase you" "Your never bike riding without me"
So instead of what she said because it's confusing so I'm gonna tell you what she told me..
They were planning on all 3 of them jumping me..they all had knives and were probably gonna leave me dead in the street and flee themselves..
one of them (the one that was talking to me and wanted to fight me) has already killed 1 and was just released from jail...he is about my age and got kicked out of school because of all his gang stuff and smoking weed in the bathroomm
the second - AJ- he's on parrol and got kicked out of school too--he's 14
the 3rd Isaiah is some weed smoker that has been on probation and got kicked out of school too...
My sister then told me how as soon as they learned I was her brother they stopped.....and said if they ever saw me again..I better watch my back....
I'm not really scared...
They just freaked me out because they were horrible looking mexicanss

^ I don't even hang around anywhere shady, but I always have a knife, just in case. Its also convenient if something needs to be opened! Lol

Why don't you get help from the nearest adult? Don't go get your sister, lol. Stop at the first door and ask an adult there for help.
I'd love to be sipping on a Miller watching Top Gear and some little kid bangs on my door for help! Seriously tho. Its the best thing to do, since that person will probably immediately call 911(or batman) and then you'll have all the help you need.

This has happendd a couple times to us. We've had the local gang "get off" on us and oh man is it a scary experience. Being outnumbered, outaged and having to defend your own. My best friend has had a knife pulled at his stomach, I've almost gotten jumped for a blue bike. My advice is don't let them intimidate yOu. Next time some confronts you if they're unarmed don't say anything back, take flight immediately. Use all your brute force and aim for his jaw. His buddy's won't do a dam thing trust me on this one.

Ah, the experience...
First of all, having a knife is pointless and gets you into more trouble than it's worth with school authorities.
Secondly, I fight dirty. Jaw? Please, the groin is more reachable.
Thirdly, and I don't teach this enough, is to learn to sacrifice your off-hand (left, as usual) to displace the opponent's weapon and groin him hard with your knee. Learn to deal with downward stabs, upward stabs, and swings. A weapon is useless at closer to arms-length, and that is great reason to learn Krav Maga or Muay Thai (I know a bit of the latter).
Fourthly, don't pick a fight you can't win.
My worse experience was being ganged up by a bunch of kids my age. About six of them, I believe. They circled me in the park and hit me from the back. In the end, I chased one of them down and beat him to a near pulp. His friends decided that running away from me and hitting my back was preferable to fighting directly, so I chased the slowest of the bunch and trashed him. Of course, they never bugged me again.
Another experience with knives was when I used my right hand (wrong hand) to fight off a knife attacker. Bled all over the place despite him not hitting an artery. Apparently, I broke his wrist and cracked his skull over the incident. As usual his friends left him high and dry when it got tough.
I'm from Argentina, and, just for the record, living here it's like being a marine in Irak, but, maybe, without the AK47 and all the Lady Gaga stuff XD

Just wanted to make sure everyone here is up to date on flash mob robberies, they are halarious, if you dont know about them yet check out you-tube and watch a few videos.
Basicaly the idea of a flash mob has turned from random bits of dance and entertainment to 50-100 people simotaniusley robbing/looting random corner stores and gas stations. I do not condone these acts (while I do think the videos are entertaining) and thought others may like to share opinions on this, so what do you guys think? I say its not long before a store owner pulls a weapon on these fools and we see mass casualties in a 7-11, how else are they gonna defend themselves against such a thing?
Is this happening in other counties or is this more of a U.S. based thing as of yet?

Sorry I still see the entertainment value in these videos (big fan of worlds dumbest lol). However I believe we are on the same page, that the next progression is going to be a store owner shooting at these groups of wild teens looting there store, untill than whats stopping them? The thought process must be "they cant catch all of us" I guess, but im not sure why nobodys wearing masks, idiots must not understand that there are cameras almost everywhere. Imagine if you were a cop and were first on scene to one of these calls best bet might be to baragade your cruiser against the door and lock them all in untill backup arrives, however that locks the loanly clerk and any possible legit patrons inside as posible hostages. Could you imagine going in to pay for gas or buy some smokes and 50+ kids run in and start looting the place!

As someone who very regularly has to deal with the kind of moron who thinks its acceptable to steal from and threaten those who work in customer service I do not find this remotely funny.
I see, all too often just how badly the people that do these jobs can be affected by even a minor incident and something such as this could have serious repercussions on the life of a completely innocent person who is not insured against any loss or injury and will receive nothing in compensation should they find themselves unable to work afterwards.
By simply reposting these videos you are glorifying these acts and only inciting more of this kind of action by the type of mindless cretins who make life difficult for those of us who work hard to earn a living.

Meh... understood. I did actually find myslef wondering why such videos remain on youtube, thinking along the same lines that actually seeing such a video would only insight further flash mob robberies sparking the mind of wasted youth. However that is enough self reflection into myself and will be reserved for another day when I feel more like looking back onto things I may or may not have done, that may or may not have been the "best choices"

It's OK, you did call them fools after all, and you do raise the point that it won't be long before it turns really ugly, i.e, loss of life ugly. Had anybody thought you were glorifying the acts the thread would be closed by now!
As CTM said, these things can only go south. The robbers come with knives, so owners buy guns and before long the robbers have guns. It's exactly what's happened in the USA, and as much as the gun advocates, i.e NRA members, defend their position.. it's completely illogical. The argument is cyclical. You defend your home with a BB Bat, robbers bring knives. You buy a knife, robbers bring guns. You buy a gun and before long your kid has accidentally shot himself to death.
The arguments go back and forth while the only clear and logical answer is to smelt every single fkin gun in existence. Fortunately it's the one thing the UK government here at home has gotten right.
The only guns should belong to the Army and Specialist Police forces. Beyond that, they shouldn't even be made. The only reason these cocky little ****es think they can get away with robbing innocent people is because most people are too sensible to start an arms race where nobody wins. And most people are too decent to shoot somebody, even when they themselves are being robbed.
Personally, i have no such reservations. I would kill each and every one of the bastards given the chance. Which is exactly why we have gun control here!

I would swing like Babe Ruth if i thought a direct hit would save the life of someone i loved!
Tony Martin was jailed because we don't have the 'Castle doctrine' in this country. The biggest mistake he made wasn't to open fire on the assholes who tried to rob him. It was missing, and then not burying the bodies that messed up his life!
Like i said, it's a good thing that the law doesn't agree with me!

It's the law that you have in the US that say's you have the right to protect yourself in your own home, against those that would trespass or do harm against you on your property.
Somebody breaks into your home and you shoot them? Their fault!

Tragically, a recent case highlighted the flaws in this. Police went to an ex-Marines house, on false evidence that he was supplying drugs. Rather than knock on the door they tried to break it down. He thought that his home was being invaded, so to protect his family to picked up his rifle and opened fire on the 'intruders'. He was shot forty times.
What would you have done?

That's what I thought you were referring to, and yes it is an epic fail, no matter how "justified" you are I doubt it's ever worth it. I have a friend who shot and killed an intruder, no charges ever filled however I know he well never be the same. Partially in a good way as his life wasn't always on the up and up and has since in ways changed for the better for both him and his family, but we'll never be the same.

These videos and the acts portrayed within are just terrible. I for one believe we need more small "mom and pop" stores, not less. Acts like these can very well cause someone innocent to be hurt (the morons doing these things NEED to be hurt....but I digress....) and drive these small stores out of business. Terrible, just terrible.
