You have to use a smaller card.. 4gb or smaller (most 8gb cards work too i think) 16gb cards don't work for SD flashing.

Did you extract the file first or just rename the zipx file?
Sorry to ask but I had a user do that.
Try flashing it with the Topaz RUU.exe through Active Sync.

I've seen it....
Extract .zipx file with winzip, backup your SD files and format it again in FAT32 ( i had issues like you and formated the SD again and all worked fine ), restore you backuped files to SD, paste .nbh in the root and boot into bootloader.
If that doesn't work your card is just too big (you can tell if it says "checking" and then quickly goes right back to tricolor screen). My 16gb Sandisk doesn't allow it but my 1gb, 2gb, and 4gb cards work just fine and they're all different brands

I normally can install roms but for some reason i can't anymore, when i copy the file to my memory card the ".nbh" part dissapears from the name, and when i try to install it, my phone says there are no images. Any ideas?
maybe you are hiding the extension for known formats on your pc.
it is an windows explorer setting.
fast solution : simply rename the file directyl on your phone via totalcommander or file explorer and you are good to go.

Thank You so much , thankfully it worked.
One problem though, SEUS can't regonise my phone, i flashed a generic UK rom and thats it, any ideas ?
it because of the hard-spl
if you already have r3 then theres no point using SEUS
the only reason you would use it is if you want to return it to warranty, but even so flashing back soft-spl and generic rom would be fine!
SEUS is really jus useless

bah, looks like I need to pick one up... I saw this and thought it might be possible...
BEFORE STARTING
1. know that there are multiple ways to flash a rom to your phone. here are a few
a. using windows, get a flashing package from one of the xda devels, and replace the RUU_signed.nbh file in that package with whatever you are trying to flash (try NFSFAN's package, it has always worked well for me for this; some carrier packages don't work), renamed the same way
b. use a 2GB or smaller micro SD card with the .nbh named VOGUIMG.NBH in root, then place the phone in bootloader mode (see #2)
c. use linux and HTCFlasher - don't know much more about this method, find it here

Thought I could use a) or c) without an SD card...

You can flash the nbh without an sd card, but for our android (so far) the nbh doesn't contain the system image, just the kernel and some other stuff. You have to have an sdcard to get the system image in. That's different than winmo, where the nbh has everything in it. I suppose we could go that way eventually, but it's so easy to switch things around without having to reflash with the way it is now...
For reference, the nbh is about 3 MB. The system image is 50 MB or more depending on version, etc.

That makes perfect sense. I'll pickup a SD card on my way home. They are 'micro-' SD correct?

yeah and seeing as what happend to my phone i think it would be a bad idea to make it like that. its less ware on the phone and it is super easy to switch to a different rom
I have another question regarding a post I saw in another thread. It said I can only flash with a 2GB card. So if I get a card, it has to be 2GB or smaller? Or can I get a 4GB and flash using the A) or C) method and use the 4GB card to install?

You must put the file in the root of the storage card not in the folder..
and did u already tasks 29 your device..??
i suggest u use the 826x rom and use spl 0.78, because its most stable and has a good batery life...
this was the link that u can download the Rom.. http://www.826x.blogspot.com/
I open storage card and put that .nbh file in it and not in any file inside storage card.I didnt task29 before HARDspl.
and you can see the file in your file manager?
sometimes I experienced something like that and couldn't find the file on my sd, strange but true, I had to recopy and then it worked

rename the .nbh file to "kovsimg.nbh" place to sd card root.. turn off your phone.. then holdown the volume down key.. press the power botton together.. it will be a bootloader screean.. and notify u to upgrade...
Hi, im a new user, and i tried to instal custom rom by watching video guide of installing a custom rom, and i followed it very carfully. However, once i got to the part where i pasted the nbh file from my pc to my storage card. removed the usb cable. turned off my phone and then got to the tri color bootloader screen it says " no image file found" can someone help me please?
Which ROM you tried to flash??
for sd-method to work, the img-file needs to be named "kovsimg.nbh" (without the ""), otherwise bootloader won't recognize it. make sure it's named that way and check if you're able to see file-extensions (if not it could be "kovsimg.nbh.nbh").
I try to flash Dynamics_GTX_2.2.0_WWE rom when I failed I tried to flash 6.5_V4.0F because I thought maybe something is wrong with Dynamics rom or maybe I do something wrong. I instaled 0.78.OliNex Hard-SPL. I change rom name to kovsimg.nbh but it still write that "No image gile"
P.S. Sorry for my bad english
Maybe you need to reformat your SD card to FAT32 again, after that put the kovsimg.nbh to the SD card and try again, I face this problem before but after I reformat the SD card, it works..
