if you are using cyanogen 6 RC2, then just find one of the threads here with black notification bar theme, and use meta morph to apply it.

Don't remember if this was in RC2 or a subsequent nightly, but you can also change the color of the status bar, text, and pull down notification to anything you want directly from CMSettings.
Hey you're right. In cyanogen settings you can set the color. It just needs a reboot after this.

I updated to Cyanogen 6 RC2 and noticed my task bar reverted back to white. I tried to use my morph to use the desire taskbar but it didnt work (due to metamorph not working for some reason). I then ran a diff black bar which did work with the updated version of metamorph and noticed the date in the taskbar was no longer present.
Is this due to the morph or is this due to cyanogen 6? can someone tell me? Also, is there a way to get it back?
Also i believe i was able to change my lockscreen caption with cyanogen 6 RC1 but i cant seem to find the option in RC2. did some searching and i see some .apk that need to be custom built in order to change it....is this true? or am i some how overlooking the option with cyanogen 6 RC2?
anyone have any light to shed?
Maybe I am missing something
You have changed settings->CyanogenMod settings->User interface settings so that nothing is showing up black right? I had the problem when I first morphed to the black desire bar. And you have to reboot the phone for the changes to take effect. I hope it's that simple.

thanks for the tip, but i did check that and thats not the problem...ive even gone as far as making everysingle color something non black so that way i can see which color represented what portion of the task bar. I think what happened was i flash a diff bar than the desire bar first but used the updated version of metamorph which doesnt work...i think that bar f'd with it to be honest.
I have the Cyanogen custom rom loaded on my rooted Nexus One and I have been trying all day to morph/flash ways to change my notification bar, but no good.
Would appreciate from you fantastic people if you could lend me a hand or advice?
Thank you! (If this is wrong format in this forum I apologize greatly it is my first time posting here, but I've been following XDA for some time now)
there are many themes over in the themes forum that have meta morph files you can apply to change your status bar to black. which do you want? do you want the desire black bar? or a pure black bar? i can post my theme which i use, it has a mixture of pure black bar, circle battery icon, my preferred wifi icon, and the rest are desire icons, all mixed together to give me my favorite theme. currently using it on cyan 6 nightly from sunday.
EDIT: i added the file. i left the name exactly the same, but a few edits have been made so i hope the originator of that theme doesnt mind. you can search out that thread by the file name i uploaded.
the thing is when i attempt to morph a theme every thing changes EXCEPT the status bar. While it skins the framework.apk (mis-spelled) It takes extremely long and I eventually reboot my phone because it does not load. How long does it take for you to morph a complete skin? I was trying to morph the Carbon Notification bar and it takes very long.
Thanks btw for your reply really appreciated
yeah i am stuck at the same problem too.. it is taking too long for such a small file... even flashing roms are faster...
na dude i got a different version MM nd it morphed quickly but not right status bar always white
huh ? i didnt get u... cant u rephrase ur sentence pls .. are u saying u downloaded an older version of metamorph and it morphed quickly but that version of metamorph did'nt change ur status bar to the desired color ?
It works for me every time, very quickly. Do you have usb bugging enabled? You need that.
Like I said, that's the exact file I use every time, not sure what is wrong...
Are you sure a reboot doesn't make the white turn to black bar?
haha.. it works for me now.. i didnt enable USB debugging the last time .. awesome.. loving the new carbon fibre status bar.. wicked stuff !!
Ha nice, its always the little things
hey guys quick question: is it possible to install a black/glass status bar morph on a rooted nexus with the stock rom?

Yes, but the text would also be black. It has to be a custom ROM to modify the text too.
yes there's a stock FRF91 ROM thread over in the other forum which is theme ready so you could use any morph you want.

Good info.. I have Enom's all lined up to go on mine when I get my new MicroSDHC... Still using the stock 4G card, need more space.
Help please
So I've downloaded the Glass Status Bar morph, and everything works except my status bar is still white. I'm trying to run it on CM 6, froyo, N1. Any help would be appreciated as to why this might not be working.
Do I need to adjust any settings in CM?

Go into the CM settings under the notification bar settings and untick the custom bar and untick custom color. Reboot and then it should work.
Thanks for the tip kp and it seemed to work at first but when I tried to change back to my preferred wallpaper (when it rebooted after applying the morph it reverted to the standard Cyanogen live wallpaper) the status bar become black.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the tip but it didn't work. I unticked everything you said, reapplied the morph and it re-started and seemed to work although the wall paper had changed by to the standard CM live wallpaper. When I switched back to my normal wallpaper the notification bar was black. Same thing when I tried other wallpapers.
Any other ideas?

Are you running a CM6 nightly?
Im running the CM6 stable and everything works fine on my end. For the nightly, I heard that you need to stick a static wallpaper you do not want up and then go to the live wall paper to place "on top of" the wallpaper. There may be more to that but that was the jist of the conversation I read in passing.
EDIT: Here's the thread

No, I'm running the stable mod, not any of the nightly's. Tried what that thread suggested, still no luck. I'll keep trying on my end.
Just to go through the steps I did, I downloaded the file from XDA. Placed it on my N1. Used Metamorph to unzip it and install it rebooted and no-go.

Hey, not since RC2 i think it was, have i been able to find just a simple dark desire notification bar for the nexus one. The stock white one is so god damn ugly. I have done a quick search too, but found nothing. Are there any out there that will work for CM6 final?
Try the one in my sig...
Works, thanks mate.
Just figured out why no one is making them.
You can set it to be dark automatically in cyanogenmod settings.
How can I get a transparent notification bar? I.E.
I have a Droid Incredible CM7 if that matters...

thats a miui theme in that pic...but its possible on cm7 with a patch c this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102755
That patcher only works for Windows Computers...I have a mac
Ok so I opened the apk of the CM7 theme I wanted and change the png file of the notification bar to transparent. I repacked it into the zip, but now I need to resign the zip and turn it into an apk.
Can anyone do this for me? Will this work?
Hope this works for you.
It installed great...but no transparency...
Any ideas why?

Maybe point 6.2 in this post
In the UOT Kitchen under that statusbar mod you want to select Dr Droid for the top bar..
That one will give you a semi transparent top statusbar..its the closest thing I have found to what you want. The only side effect I have noticed is the notification icons kinda leave a fade for a little bit.
Clock & date will be positioned in the center of the statusbar if flashed any of these flashable zip's (tested on nightly 177)(i think this mod can be applicable to all ldpi, mdpi devices ,but not hdpi)( sorry for the trouble guys for now this mod is only for nightly 177)
CENTERmod type1
*this mode rectifies the notification overlap bug of the type 2 CENTERmod but by applying this mod the clock position will be almost equal t0 center(not exactly centerd by default)(although you can make it centered by changing few settings in statusbar tweaks tab)
+++STATUSBAR TWEAK SETTINGS+++
(if you have network data enabled)(shows 3g,h,e,g icon in statusbar)
1.tick percentage battery option
with this the clock should be centered now
(if network data is disabled )(no 3g,h,e,g icons)
1.select AM/pm style as normal or small
2.select alternate signal display to text(few people hate this option , including me ,if u dont enable this the clock will be slightly to the center-right)
with this the clock should be centered now
if yo dont care about the notification overlap bug(see screenshot) use CENTERmod type2 , with type 2 mod clock will be exactly centered no matter what settings you keep
CENTERmod type2
known bug : notifications overlap with clock (only for a short duration
**use the unmod patch to restore to default(only for 177)
I can share the patch with transparent statusbar, centered clock and fixed "notifications overlap with clock" bug
(Do not look at the first screenshot, there is no name of the operator in statusbar, this is just to show transparency)
And sorry for my poor english.
tried both, type 1 and type 2, but status bars disappears after flashing. any ideas?

Your current theme doesn't matter, if the statusbar dissapearing after flashing, then it's only means that your rom incompatible with SystemUI.apk in the patch.
on CM 7.1 RC1 dont work i have FC how do i revert???

Check out this patch, it should work on CM7 RC1
Guys this will work only with nightly 177 , ill soon release both versions for cm7 stable .the reason it won't work with other nightly's is bcoz of different changes in systemui.apk of 177 ..... currently I am busy so it might take some time
Appreciate your feedback thanks

It's in the post #8 But it's only tested on CM7 RC1 and transparency will only work with those themes that support it(MEIZU, MIUI).

works on 177. dont get one thing though, http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=buzz doesnt show any commits/chnges from 176 to 177. not that it matter, it works now, thanks
Glad it worked .....
There is no change between 176 & 177 but I made this mod for 177 bcoz It is the latest build since a long time
I am actually planning to move all the icons in status bar from right to left...
Do you have any tutorial for this..
I am on nightly 156..
Thanks in Advance...

This thread explains how to move the icons from right to left and vice versa, they are good guys and will help you out if you get stuck.

Thanks to Donhu, Here's my systemui and framework.
It can be used on CM7 NIGHTLY 177 may also work on other nightlies but i ain't too sure, try at your own risk and make sure you backup your current systemui.apk and framework-res.apk before trying!!.
It has transparent bar, centre clock and all the icons switched around although i don't think they look right so i'm gonna play around with the framework till i get them right.
Push it to the relevant /system folders using root explorer. If you need to know how to do this pm me.
EDIT:I've just moved the icons round so the signal is on the far left and the battery is in the middle as it looked a bit wrong stuck on the end, so the framework posted will look slightly different to the one in the screenshot.
Oh.... and the gap on the right end is unavoidable atm, the only way to get rid of it is to tick battery percentages in menu/cyanogen settings/interface/status bar tweaks but then you lose the icon on the left.
I've just put the above system.apk into a flashable zip and added an undo zip aswell and can confirm it still working up to nightly 199, probably will work on the latest builds but i can't be bothered to flash yet to test it.
