Ever since I started running the Aloysius rom on my Sprint HTC Hero...I've been having problems with my Google Navigation. It'll open up and pull up address, miles, eta of arrival and will even have the voice telling me where to go. But no visual of the map itself. After about 20 or so seconds...it'll tell me that the app is having problems and needs to force close.
Has anyone had this problem with the rom or Google Nav????
Can it be an issue with just Goolge Navigation???
Thanks.
What version of the rom are you running?

I'm assuming it should probably be one of those instead of the LWP ones. I ran Aloysius for about a month before changing and used one of the overclocked ones and didn't have the issues you do
I believe I'm running the Aloysius 2.1.
Not sure what's going on.

I have a HTC Dream, running Android 1.5 on the Rogers network in Canada. My Google Maps app (along with several others) was somehow corrupted. I can't download a new version from the Marketplace, since they require Android 1.6 and, as such, don't even show up on my phone. Resetting the phone rolls maps back to a 3.0 version, whereas I was running 3.1.2. I've found links to privately hosted downloads for the newest version of Maps, but does anyone know where I might find older versions for download? Thanks.

So they havent sent the OTA for you guys yet?
Thats awful, but your just as bad since your on this site without root
You could be running 42.0 is you had root or whichever you wanted.
i heard that rogers is not giving you guys any update past cupcake... if i were you i would just root and run cyanogen's rom, or dwang's.
.... showing up in the market for me, downloads but then starts to install then get installation unsucessfull
Any ideas...
I'm on vodafone in the UK running cyanogen v1 (android 2.1)
Cheers

cant find google maps 4 in market.
im using 2.1 rom.
which rom is the OP running exactly?
your sig says mcr 3.0
OP already resolved the issue.
i know it was solved.
the reason i asked was because i was using mcr 3.0 and couldnt even see gmaps in the market let alone update it.
Im moving to a 2.1 rom, just wanted to know which rom he used the solution on.
OP stated they are running CyanogenMod 1.0 for the HTC Hero.
Anyone else get a force close every time from Google Goggles? I'm running CM6 A012.
I had FCs on all alphas as well as on RC. Now after I installed latest build liberty-bla-bla.. no FCs on goggles anymore.

Try fixing permission in clockwork and see if that helps.
Are you using any custom kernels? If so switch to stock and see if that helps.
I'm on cm6 on the evo and was having the same issue until I reflashed the original kernel over snap 8.1.
Hi, I just wiped my g1 with superd (1.6) , i went to reinstall google maps and... it is disappeared from the market?
Is no more compatible with donut?
Latest Google Maps requires Android 2.1+.
Also, most if not all of the apps required android 2.x as far as I can remembered.
Yes, i noticed
There is a working apk for donut somewhere?
I remember 5.4 worked
I wonder why they don't use the multiple apk option for their apps, leaving people behind, the stock maps app does not work anymore, FC at launch...
you should upgrade to Gingerbread CM7 it is fast but not donut fast
but you will have MOOOOOORE Features with it
Any gingerbread rom is not stable enough yet use froyo for trout u can flash the cm contact mod and mms mod to get some features from cm its fast and stable
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using XDA App
I feel that any android > 1.6 is slow on the Dream
Anyone has the latest apk for donut?

Nice! Youre right!
Hey everyone, I just had to revive my Hero for my girlfriend whose Evo Shift just lost its touchscreen input.
It's running LiquidSense 2.1 and has android market right now, but doesn't let her download anything from market. I'm assuming she needs Google Play to be able to download apps (other than directly installing .apks)
Does anyone know where to get it or could provide its Hero compatible .apk??
Thanks all!!
Nevermind, I found that 2.1 does not support Google Play and just put a Gingerbread rom on it and it ran Google Play no problem!
Cyanogen Mod is pretty cool actually, still have an image of a Sense Rom just for safety though.
Off to fix the Shift!!
