Is there any way to make camera pictures smaller? I have them set as small as the camera allows but when I try to send a mms and attach a picture I took with the camera it won't send. Other mms messages work fine. I am using Cricket for service if that makes a difference.
Thanks
The only thing I can think of is set to lowest resolution and quality that will reduce picture size other than that try finding an app that might allow for less quality or lower picture size. The higher quality higher resolution and any other options used all result in bigger picture file size. I found this out when trying to text a video but for pictures I set all settings to low and seems to work.

Also the rom I'm on"sapphire 1.0" the message app a has an option in the settings to spoof message app to think it a different phone maybe it will allow larger file size depending on what you choose there's many options like blackberry and etc or custom selection. Check settings of your message app for this option.

Ok your last option. Get hancent SMS app. In settings for mms you can set message size to 1.2 M

how do i get my picture to fill the whole screen of galaxy s? i can't seem to be able to do so. IF only i can have the option of not selecting the 'selecting box'
What exactly do you mean by fill the whole screen?
You could always resize your images to 1440x800 (normal resolution is 480x800, so triple it and it should work nicely for 3 homescreens)
The problem is I can't even make a 480 x 800 picture my wallpaper. Because of the selection box that only captures a fraction of that 480 by 800 picture

Hei, u can resize the crop box by touch the frame n drag it.

my image size is already 480 by 800 and yet the crop box appears. I know dragging it at its side enlarges it. I want the crop box to not appear. so my cropped wallpaper is only a fraction of my original picture
How do I do that?
The screen shows 480x800 at a time but requires a 960x800 wallpaper..
Id be willing to donate a reasonable amount to an application that can properly resize and make the wallpaper non sliding and it does not crap out the image quality!

i think u r just lucky... there is a live wallpaper by the name of droid x live paper or something it has an droid eye .. now here when u apply that in the settings u have to select the desired background.. lightning type- none, choose eye - none.. show particles- un tick this... and you are good to go.. now you have a wallpaper that wont move when you move the screens ... and if you know how to edit images.. make an image with the size 960 x 800.. but it will only show the first half ie 480x800 so keep ur image on the first half of the image..... i have attached a few wallpapers which i created may be you can understand what i m saying by looking at it... and i have also attached the apk file of the live wallpaper( this apk is not the full version , u can buy it from the market if u like it)
I am having problem with the phone's wallpaper setting.
Just bluetoothed a 480x800 wallpaper to the phone, went to wallpaper > select wallpaper from > gallery > then selected the 480x800 pic I bluetoothed, but then a red crop frame came up, and it would not allow me to stretch it to full size. Even if I stretch the frame to max size, the image will magnify in and become pixelated when displayed as wallpaper.
Is there a fix on this? Anyway to display the wallpaper as actual size (480x800) without the red frame?
I think the wallpaper needs to be 960 x 800 - it slides with the different home screens. So the IS is prompting you to crop it. Can you resize it first and then send it across?
Yes 480 is not enough ... Its actually half really ... The phone will only crop the wallpaper propotionaly so that it dosent get stretched in a funky way when applied ...

True, or you could get a Sense replacement and set the number of home screens u have to a lower value as opposed to the HTC Sense ... i havent tested it, but that should be a standard check for all sense replacements ..
Even easier would be to get the proper resolution wall paper
Have I gone "insane" when using Insanity CM9...
When using the supplied Nitrality tool to set the display DPI value the slider shows "lower and higher".
Choose lower and you get 240 dpi, choose higher and you get 182 dpi, this makes no sense at all especially as the result is lower resolution (bigger icons) when selecting lower. I get the feeling the numbers are inverted.
Have I gone nuts?
I just want bigger icons like all the other roms!!

Since Insanity turned GINGERBREAD rezolution ploblems had appeared I had the same problem...Best instanity is the one who''s running froyo
on my gtab, the default contacts app, when viewing the list of contacts, there is a thick white line running thru many of the names.
I am using Calkulin + Clemsyn Combo Overclock at 1.5 ghz V6
I think it's something to do with Calkulin's ROM. I had the same issue but now am using CM7 and the white bar is gone
I believe this is an issue with the Froyo (2.2.x) Contact app and the resolution... CM7 is Gingerbread which does not have this problem... I'll try to see if something can be done!!
Does anyone know of a web site with wallpapers that run 800x1200? I'm not coming up with much via google for portrait orientated wallpapers.
1280x800 is the native resolution though. Try searching for that instead.
Perfect fit resolution (for scrolling wallpapers in launchers) in 1600*1280

You are correct, I forgot the 80. WHO FORGETS THE 80!!!
1600 x 1280
in order to get a picture with a 1280 vertical width you need to look for pictures or wallpapers that originally are 1600 x 1280. then use most image editing programs to crop the image to 800 x 1280 pixels - width and height.
i for one prefer for my wallpaper to remain still while my icons are being swiped by. I also find most images i used have a center focus.
also i try to if possible to edit the bit rate to be 24 bit for the image. don't know if this helps to display the image better but since the note is reported to display at 24 bits why have images any larger.
Use wallpaper wizardrii. Works perfect!
use PicSpeed wallpapers... its free on the market
