Can someone help me?? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can not get my phone to install or uninstall any apps. I have tried many things: wiping, nandroiding, changing kernels.
But it still downloads and just sits at the installing part. Any help on how i can resolve this would greatly be appreciated. i am currently running the latest cm6 nightly. I have the same problem running cm6 rc2.
Thanks.

Same here... most apps I try to install from the market fail... once in a while there is one that goes through, but it's very rare... Any insights into this would be appreciated

[Q] Fix for Market Issues

Noticed this in quite a few custom ROMs that market doesn't work after flashing. I kept getting the 'download unsuccessful' errors all the time. So on a hunch, I replaced the vending.apk and MarketUpdater.apk files in /system/app with the same files from CM 6.1 beta, and market started working again (as in I can download files again). However, now I am getting market FCs every minute or so. Is there any other that probably needs to be replaced? What are the market's dependencies?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
i have the same problem with market: download unsuccesful but i didn't flash my phone or anything. i tryed but it didnt work. after a while i've noticed that the market send me this msg when i try download smth.
how we solve this?
bump...
someone please help...
Ok, I have a solution here (sort of) which I've tried on various custom ROMs now and it works. Last time I replaced vending.apk and marketupdated.apk and it gave me FC's all over the market. So, this time, instead of replacing individual APKs, i flashed the whole Google Apps package from CyanogenMod via recovery. It solved the market issues for me.

and how exactly u did that? there are a lot of files/dirs there, which one to download?
Hey aatifahmad,
I also would like to learn how to apply this update.zip. I tried it via recovery but it seems I had recovery 3e and it does not do unsigned update.zip. Do you have a workaround for this issue or did you revert back to recovery 2e?
If you have an easier way, please let us know. I really don't want to mess with the recovery.

[Q] Gapps not working for CM7 RC2

Hi,
I have flashed gapps from Rom Manager along with the CM7 RC2 and on first start it asked me which apps I wanted to install, I made my choices but then I got several errors saying "file not found" seemed like the error was coming from the market. So I started looking around and downloaded the gapps manually from CM Wiki (Latest version) flashed it manually........but nothing happens, nothing shows up at all.
I have tried suggestions I found around like "fix permissions" nothing worked for me. I'm running out of ideas ! Any help is GREATLY appreciated !
Thanks.
I ran into that just 2 days ago. Its because of the package itself. I think. But anyways all you need to do is wipe data. Then install cm again and the gapps. Should be fine. Btw, dig through this questions and ask section, you'll find my question about similar thing like this. Good luck.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
Thanks for the reply, but I have already downloaded the file multiple times from different locations, and made no difference. As for wiping, I have already done that !
Im currently on a clean installation of CM7 RC2. So its not that either.....Im actually installing the individual apps manually from the market now, its just easier than finding a way around this damn issue !.

any help available? sorry to bump
First thing I would try would be fix permissions (you can find this option in ROM manager) and if that doesn't work then I would just do a clean install.
I had the same problem, bad blocks and FC's. I spent hours trying everything I could to fix it. My phones been half busted for about 2 months. Someone suggested that I try this and it worked.

I didn't think it would but it did. It brought my phone back to stock 2.1. I grabbed z4root to root it, then reflashed hboot, radio and went back to CM7 nightly. All is well with the world again.
Good luck.

[Q] Flashed gapps tiny but no market

So i installed SenseHERO 1.4 +BFS304_10mb on my G1 and also then flashed gapps-mdpi-tiny but once i load up my phone i notice there is no android market. I've also tired gapps-mdpi without any luck. I wiped everything from my phone before putting anything on.
Is there a special version of google apps that i need or am i doing something wrong?? Any help would be much appreciated.

same thing happened to me with cm 6.1 DS ...it turned out that there was something wrong with my gapps. i flashed new gapps which i found over at cyanogen's website. Hope thats the case with you
Tried various versions of gapps without luck but tried wiping and re-flashing the rom several ways and seem to now have market back albeit an older market.

Hulu mod

I've been trying multiple workarounds to get this working on the Thriller rom with little to no success. I know there are a ton of ways out there to get this working on other devices. I've gone so far as to try flashing zips in CWR as well as manually changing the lib.so files.
If anyone could offer assistance on this it would be greatly appreciated.
