[WIKI] Need your help keeping it up to date. - Hero CDMA Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone
Most of you don't know me as I haven't contributed much to XDA (yet!) However since I'm not too good with developing and the such, I'd like to keep the wiki updated. In the past few days I've learned most of the syntax for MediaWiki and have cleaned up our page considerably. As I said in my other post, I'm not looking for a "Wiki Mod" title or position. Everyone here is free to edit the wiki as they please. If you are game with my motivation to keep the wiki up to date I could certainly use your help. What I need from you awesome devs is to let me know the name of your roms and when they are updated so I can reflect that information in the wiki.
Any ideas you have or anyone that wants to help me is welcome to do so.
If you have information or anything for that matter you want on the wiki but dont want to do yourself (We've all been there so no judgement from me ) send me a PM or email me at my username @gmail.com.
The wiki is located here for anyone that wants it.
Edit: I understand that this has very little to do with Development (If anything to do with it at all) but please understand that some of us only stay in our own sub-forum and don't venture out very often.

How about a little vote?

Add my AnyKernel thread and ZenKernel the first kernel to be released that is built from official htc heroc 2.6.29 source with overclock

This needs to be stickied in Q&A and General forums more than Dev IMO

[DEV] Woohoo! Official MIUI ROM for download!

Thought I'd start a new thread, since the other MIUI thread has such a long and confusing title.

Bugs: The XDA app has crashed my phone twice today(!) Had to take out the battery and reboot.

So whats going on with MIUI China?
On miui-germany I read in the release thread that moviestart (the developer doing MIUI German) hasn't the right to release the rom. And MIUI China is giving this rights or taking them...
In my opinion the only guys who has the right to stop any releases of Cyanogen and Mods (in this example MIUI) Roms.
MIUI is based on CM and so why they think they can prohibit any releases?
For me this is one reason why I wont load the MIUI rom.. besides I like the plain CM7 more anyways

I strongly recommend you simply PM the creator of the other thread to update his Thread Title and opening post.
Having another thread about the very same ROM adds to the general confusion in this subforum and should be avoided.
I'd reckon as soon as a proper release is available, the dev himself will open a thread here, with a proper starting post with flashing instructions and more information.
If you insist on keeping the thread, I'd advise you to add more info to your starting post and properly [DEV] tag your thread title.
The way it is now, the thread doesn't do any good, because now, some information (fixes and such) will be spread over the two threads and will thus be harder to find.
I hope I didn't offend you.
Cheers

I do not insist on keeping this thread. And I am not offended, lol.
But I am not going to pm that guy.
Was just trying to help fellow noob flashmonkeys find this. Also, aren't most/all the fixes already integrated in the dev rom?

There are instructions everywhere on how to flash it. Also, thats an old version, the new KJ3 released today
step 1. dont post questions in dev forum
step 2. ???
step 3. profit
I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
[Q]Surely thats a bit harsh aint it??
[A]Not really....
We've tried to be nice about it but that clearly doesnt work.
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA
Yes thats right, there is life outside XDA

This is a direct quote from the sticky at the top of this forum. Read around before you post. This would have been received much better in the Q&A Forum. Because its a question. And nowhere close to a development.
Thread locked. xCRZYx, post your question in the Question and Answer forum. This is development only.

Help posting cm10 nigthlies

hey,
I'm visiting xda forums quite a while now.
But haven't bothered to post yet.
So i got the idea of posting cm10 nigthlies including google apps and samsung market on a daily basis.
But i'm not allowed to post in the dev session nor post external links to the rom.
Is there anyone willing to post the rom for me?

The CM10 nightlies are not yet here, so you're thinking about building them from source and posting here right ?
Anyway, as far as i know, including Google Apps in custom roms violates the license, therefore is not allowed here.
I think the same goes for Samsung apps.
Btw. now that CM9 went stable, it's most likely that we'll see official CM10 nightlies very soon.

i was indeed talking aboput building them and posting them here.
Actually as i alreaddy builded it for my self it wil just be posting
As far as including g-apps and samsung market go other roms include them as well.
Legally there is no reason to differeniate between posting seperate zip files for g-apps and samung market and including them in a rom.
Both are ways to distribute them and both are alreaddy on the site.
But i guess i won't be posting my builds here if they are against the rulez.
I'm not sure about it, please refer to XDA rules. I remember CM Team having troubles with including Gaaps in CM7 builds.
I'm sure that your CM10 build will be very appreciated by users here, try posting them in General section until you get access to developer section.

The second problem is that i'm not allowed to post the links to the builds..
So i really need the man in the middle
You actually built a ROM for yourself ? If so, then hang around the Q&A section.Plenty of space for posting even for the most basic problem solving. For a guy like you, getting the requisite number of posts will not be difficult.
Note:I'm not suggesting he spam the threads.

The nightlies are live in the general section now with some nice url tricks.
But the dev section would be far better and using urls without tricks would be nice aswell.
As far as the posting goes well I'm an impatient guy.

P1000 Lollipop ROM coming soon?

I am here looking out for any Lollipop 5.0 ROM builds, if anyone has been able to port for P1000 or any under dev projects can be summarized here. I guess this thread didnt exist till now. Let start this thread specific to any lollipop related projects/devs here.. and keep it updated.
Moderator can take over make contributions to this thread....
BTW, I found this on google, for lollipop rom for p1000 but havent tested it as it was asking for survey to complete. I am not sure if this is real.
anybody tested this? Although the blog writer mentions a comment taken from xda-developers forums. I couldnt find any such thread or posts...

I'm 101% sure it's not true and a clear bogus blog much better to wait on trusted forum (xda) :good: depend on dev if they can/they will continue the support :fingers-crossed:
*waiting*

I don't really get the meaning of the ORIGINAL, I think I must post in the wrong place
hi @YumeMichi
first of all i'd like to say that its good to see everyone trying to lift up the burden of compiling something for the community instead of just pushing the burden on shoulders of specific people only, but there are some points/rules that you should keep in mind:
>the ORIGINAL development section is a place that belongs to some work which is original (made by the op himself/herself), commits also should be original ie. you should have your name in place of author. not everything belongs to orignal dev section.
>you should give proper credits to the main devs in the op who actually worked on getting it up, like you forgot to give me credit for kernel and @martinusbe and his team for slim rom.
>only post tested/working builds on xda and if the build is UNOFFICIAL then you should never redirect bug reports to the community or official bug report section, so try to mention and keep them in the thread only.
>If the orignal Developer hasnt released his stuff on xda "yet" then there has to be a reason behind it and you shouldnt release it before him, always ask him first. you just included R21 (i guess) in your build which i havent released yet on xda.
keep these few things in mind, after all its a community and we are here to help each other to make the most out of our device.
EDIT: ask any mod for help, they'll help you out in moving the thread.
