This took me FOREVER.
This is my first boot animation, and first ever contribution. This animation is for HVGA devices, but if you want it on WVGA, etc. just change the desc.txt to your screen dimensions.
Here's a .gif of it, except the color slides at the end loop until your device boots.

Thanks it took a lot of work to learn how to do it, future ones shouldn't take so long now that I know how to actually do it.
Looks quite good for your first one
Thanks (; its not my first animation, just my first one for a bootanimation and getting it to actually work is what took me forever.

I tried flashing in RA-hero-1.6.2 and got the error
E:No signature (38 files)
E:Verification Failed
Installation aborted.
Help?
Don't flash it, adb push it to /data/local or /system/media , or put it there with root explorer.

That Would Help, THX
I can tell you straight off the bat that the zip file is compressed. It shouldn't be, it should be stored.
Use winrar or whatever you use to make a zip with no compression. It should work then. Push it to the proper folder, etc.
Good job man!!! Small changes, but it looks great. Thanks for your contribution to the community.
Got photoshop, working on an update with A LOT more pink and its a more vibrant shade of pink, but I'm not expirianced at photoshop AT ALL so it will be better but don't expect anything great......

Got bored today at work and thought I would post this up. Trying to keep the boot clean and simple. Below is a sample and the download link.

I used root explorer to copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media/. Make sure to make a copy of the existing bootanimation.zip just in case you need to restore.
Looks nice
looks gr8 thanks
This looks simple and great. I'm gonna try it sometime. Thanks for this!
simple, yet good looking hehe
Thanks all
Very classy mate.
Any chance of adding a CM7 logo to it...great job.
If you can get me a link to their logo I can work on it.
Very cool. Thank you.

That one works sure. Let me check if I find any other
Update: Found the one with the 7 but I like that one you got better.
I just need to get the "ok" that I can use their logo and I'll start working on it.
Very nice, thank you!
Sorry for the delay.. work and a one year old is slowing me down.
Seen there are few portal boot animations but they seemed to be just shots from the game videos. I decided to give my own take on Portal Droid. First Boot Animation and I intend to touch it up and give it a bit of polish but for the moment I like it.
I made it for my Nexus S so its 480x800 but you can just modify the desc.txt file inside the .zip to your screen size however I don't know how it will work out and as usual apply at your own risk! But seriously if it isn't going to work it just won't run and your phone will boot with no animation.
It loops when the droid is in the infinite fall.

I will try it.
Thanks, enjoy!
Now, that's a good animation! Nice job!

Do you ever find that no matter what rom or theme(gb only) you flash that the signal strength icons stay the same stock moto ones?
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
Now that you mention it.. yeah. It doesn't look bad or anything though. I haven't ever installed a theme yet, so not sure if this helps...
I got curious and searched my phone for screenshots and found 2 gingerbread-based rom screenshots from my XT860.
Liberty 2.0Gold ROM:

(and I think this is Mavrom4):
Drives me nuts
I think its because gsm uses different signals icons for some reason. Don't know why. I manually change them with ninja morph
I was surprised no one else had every mentioned it. I follow nearly every thread on here
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
LOL
I'm just happy that the icon (and function) works. Which theme/visual mods are you running right now? And/Or.. which rom? I'd like to see what your setup looks like. I admit, I'm getting a little bored of the standard look.
Mavrom 4.0 with nextang theme from the maverick toolbox
Sent from my XT860 using xda premium
Looks like the screenshot got compressed and resized. Do you hate that SMS icon as much as I do? Hah.. I may just have to give Mav another shot and play with the themes. Mav4 made my phone warm for the whole 8 hours I had it installed. It bugged me.

flash in recovery or extract bootanimation.zip and copy to /system/media
v2 fixes the loop. v1 didn't loop due to an error in the desc.txt. this version is considered final
Code:
http://www.lightyear.site88.net/Android/BootAnimations/Flashable/JellyBean.v2.zip
Is it supposed to just be the X? I flashed it on CM9 RC1 and it is just the picture in the first post.
I think it only is the X, but it does a cool fade in at the beginning. For what's it' worth I like it.
Do it work in x10?

The other one was marked a WIP...it sounded to me like theirs wasn't working....mine was, so I started my own thread
**I posted an updated version that fixes the animation loop. the first version didn't loop at all due to an error in the desc.txt

the resolution is exactly the same...my x10's battery is currently drained, so I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not!
I just installed it on my Nexus S, works flawlessly.
Just something I noticed that's very small, when the animation is about to start again there's a slight stop and go, for like a split second. other than that, everything else is amazing.
Thanks
link is broken. can u post new one?
Now that was a great bootanimation: simple, unique, Nexus.
