[Boot Animation]Seizuredroid! - myTouch 3G Slide Themes and Apps

This took me FOREVER.
This is my first boot animation, and first ever contribution. This animation is for HVGA devices, but if you want it on WVGA, etc. just change the desc.txt to your screen dimensions.
Here's a .gif of it, except the color slides at the end loop until your device boots.

Thanks to everyone in #mytouchslide for putting up with my complaints about getting this thing to work, and thanks to Six6Sicks for fixing it for me.

Pretty stupid question, but I just push this to /data/local/ correct?
Edit: OK, run
Code:
adb remount
then push the file...
Edit 2: haha, I really like this, looks great on the phone. Also, for fun, found in the bios boot animation thread... once your phone is booted, reconnect and run
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
(CTRL+C to end it).

Its an animation that plays while your phone is turning on, watch the video I posted in the op and you'll see what it does. You have to be rooted though

That's to play the bootanimation on your phone's screen without having to turn it off and back on but on mac the ctrl+c to exit didn't work. And neither did any thing else I could think of, so I ended up having to turn my phone off and back on. On windows it works fine though.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

On a Mac, if CTRL+C doesn't stop the animation, simply unplugging the phone from the cable should work.

oh thanks ill have to try tht out

This file should come with a disclamer. Warning, may cause epileptic seizure! Lol

Bootscreens

I've managed to get some boot animations working for CWM on the Fascinate. I'll be putting up the links a bit later, but if anyone has any requests, feel free to post here and I'll see what I can do.
Here are the ones I've done so far guys (courtesy of kinesis):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17348185/AndroidGlowBootAnim.zip

Cool, my biggest issue is it's hard to find previews of what they look like before being installed. Im using the aperature science one atm.
Yeah, I had that one for the longest time. The sound got a tad annoying after a while though .
I'm going to try to get the links up asap, but there's a thread on the main android themes section IIRC that has a bunch of boot animations. Link them here and I'll get you a cwm file for them.
There for a while I was wanting one of Street Fighter IV, or Green Lantern with the symbol and the qoute about the Darkest Night and Brightest Day.
I think the plain android green one that Vanilla Froyo and Kaos are using would be sweet
How about a green android just walkin or movin around all cool on the screen? No sound.

here is a link to some pretty sweet boot animations. They are custom made.

Don't really see why you need a CWM zip for a boot animation. Just adb push it to /data/local/
Man these boot animations are sick! Good job

Thanks!
Is there anyway you could do the start up boot animation from the fascinate's first section(the galaxy S part), then splice in the Galaxy S bootup found in rom manager to replace the verizon part...just have this section loop until bootup is done?
I like our galaxy S animation since its larger and fragmented, it might go well with the one that's found in rom manager.
I'll take a look at it when I get home.
Would the trailer from the movie work?

Here is the link for the trailer, I was thinking the GL symbol that they have spinning, with the saying or quote that he has. The symbol at 218 with The Brightest Day, The Darkest night..... Don't know if it is possible or not.

[BOOTANIMATION]NeOXOOM - Geeknix Style.

Hey guys, Thought I'd make a nice geeky bootanimation that shows off the hardware in the XOOM at the same time.
Since I havn't got my XOOM yet I have only tested it on the emulator so the timing may need adjusting but let me know what you all think. Hope you like...
NOTE: Be patient and watch the whole thing, it's not just the red "XOOM" in the corner....

You can copy it to your device by entering the directory wit hthe bootanimation.zip, make sure you have adb setup and perform the following command:
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
Alternatively if you have a file manager just copy it to your SD card and paste it from there. (Probably need Root for this method).
Does nobody like this, or are XOOMers just not geeky enough?
I think it's cool

Loool! If it was just the red XOOM in the corner I wouldn't have even been as kind as you were! Maybe I should update it to point out that it's not just the red XOOM in the corner!
I always try to be kind...but anyways, i prefer BigDX's Bootanimation, though i really love yours, i had a similar for my n1
No worries, I made it for my own XOOM thought I'd share it, guess my sh** just aint good enough to share, I suck at "design" though, I'm not much of a creative...
I had the same issue - just saw the red XOOM for a while and started scrolling away
You have to change the mSD to µSD though or people might mistake it
I like the retro/nerd style a lot
Really wish the original bootloader was not so lame, stuff like this is just awesome

[MOD] Ohio State TBolt Boot Splash (Flashable)

Hi I made this splash screen to replace the stock screen on your rooted HTC Thunderbolt. You must have S-Off / Root in order to install this splash screen.

In order to install this you need to put the linked PG05IMG.zip file onto the root of your SD card, power the phone off, and power it back on while holding the volume down button. It will boot into HBoot, scan the PG05IMG.zip, and ask you to install it. Volume up for yes, and it will start. When it is done, it will ask you to reboot, volume up for yes and enjoy.
I cannot be responsible for anything that may happen to your devices when attempting to do this, it has been tested successfully on my personal device and is 100% working on there.

Over in android land we call it a bootanimation
I was actually trying 2 help my buddy do it not 2 long ago but was haveing some trouble figureing out where it was (or what it would look like 4 that matter on android it is a .zip with a lil script and a whole lot of .jpg images..)
So if ya wanna find it I will help play with it n c what I can c...
I made a few on Droid so I kinda know what I'm doing.... What I really don't have is any knowledge of ur filesystem...
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
1st splash screen is the HTC picture
2nd is windwsphone animation
first one can be done easily
2nd one nt so sure
Actually that fisrst 1 could be really tricky... The HTC 1 is the only splash screen.... And usually u flash em through bootloader... At least on my phone u can't just copy n paste em... Its 2 deep in phone...
don't think u guys can flash through bootloader though...
The animation is probably kinda simple
2 install u can usually just copy and paste em... Tricky part with that is getting timeing and speed down...
Anyway its a moot point cause I don't got the foggiest of where these files r on ur os is......
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
it involves sending of cab files i believe...
check the xmod cab thread.
I was assumeing it would.... That's what I'm saying though the anime and the splash r completely different files.. The splash is kinda boreing anyway and hard 2 make installable...
Whereas the anime u can probably just cut and paste the modded 1 4 the stock 1.....
The first step either way is finding the stock anime file on the phone, then I can mod it and we can figure out how 2 install it
PS I think the anime is more fun 2 do first cause u can make it any video u want with a lil skill... Like right now everytime my phone turns on it plays the family Guy intro...
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
i saw something called oemavatar.cab in the registry when i was cooking rom
not sure if it refers to the xbox live animation or the bootscreen.
but anyway 1 of the custom roms have done it, not sure which but i beleive deepshining.
maybe u can try askign there
Already did ty Ill check it when I get home

THIS IS OFFICIALLY BADASS!!!! Flashed on my S2 and S3, working perfectly, and beautifully! Great work man!!
Can someone please make this fit the 540 width of the bionic?
I've tried to do it myself but can only get the first folder images to play. No matter what I try I can't get the second folder loop to work.
I've resized all the images to 540x540 and changed the desc.txt to...
540 540 15 p 1 0 part0 p 0 0 part1
What am I missing?
EDIT: Nevermind.... figures I get it to work minutes after posting this. Here it is if you want it....

Nope, it does appear quite a bit smaller on the s3, but it actually looks pretty damn cool that way. I also flashed the same file on my nexus 7 '13 version and it looks badass there too. Same sizing effect "issue" but I didn't find it anywhere close to being a problem, so I left it. I've made my own boot animations from scratch in the past with the help of Mr Ed on androidforums and the tutorial of how to do it is still up if you just Google "Youdoofus boot animation" you should see it. I have the same screen name everywhere I go lol
I'm not sure if its kosher to post another forums links on xda or not, but here's the thread I'm referring to
