hello,
I try to make a boot screen from the attachment below and i used a howto.
But that does not succeed. Can sombody help me with this boot screen.
Can somebody make it so that I can boot into recovery
png files and gif files are there as attachments
Thanks for helping my,
mattijsier
ps: i have froyo 2.2(fusion rom6.1.1) and a htc hero
I love the POST-inspired one, looking forward to this being finished. Wish I could help you!
I am at school atm but I can make it for you and then explain how. But you will have to clarify what you mean boot into recovery. If you flash a custom rom you have generally or always installed a recovery menu. This can be accessed by pressing "Home + End Call(boot) button" before the phone starts.
Made it start but for some odd reason it misses the post. Got a lesson now so will try later.

nobody else can help me more??
nobody can't help me??
Your new animation have to be almost (but not quite entirely unlike) the same filesize as the old one <- this is important for the system to recognize the splash screen.

hey guys,
My g1 is stuck at the TMOBILE g1 screen.
i loaded this theme.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541841
and it worked great but then i saw this theme and liked it better
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520629
so i loaded it just like i loaded the first one. but it got stuck at the Tmobile g1 screen. so i tried to re load the other theme and its doing the same thing. i tried wiping by booting into Home+power button. but its still doing the same thing. can anyone help me out?? thanks.
What rom are you running? The first is for CM and the second one won't work on the newer CM roms. What you will prolly need to do is reflash the rom you want then make sure the theme you are flashing will work with the rom.

Uhm No, He said it worked fine with the first theme, for a cyan rom. His SPL has zilch to do with this unless it is a Hero rom/theme. But it is not, it is a theme for a older cyan rom. Repartition is the word i think you meant to use, and what is a "htc rom"? Don't get someone confused with bad advice please, we have enough problems in the Dream forums already.
And to help the OP, see what rom the theme you want to use is made for. And if is just the theme or the entire rom, as some themes are. If it is a small size like 10-20mb then it is just the theme in which case you want to get the rom it is made for and flash it (step 1 get it onto your sd and rename it update.zip, go into recovery and wipe, then flash the update.zip, reboot and go through the initial setup step get the theme onto your sd and rename it update.zip DONT WIPE!!! then flash update.zip). If it is the full rom+theme then you only need to go through step 1. Hope this helps with your troubles.
I looked this problem up on google and it brought me to this page. I am running CyanogenMod and tried to use this theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541242). Now I am stuck at the "T-Mobile G1" loading screen. I tried taking out the battery. Doing a "wipe data/factory reset" and restoring the latest backup. Nada. I'm very frustrated. What can I do? (Also big thanks to everyone in this community who help make this phone so great)

What version of CyanogenMod are you running? You should make sure you have the newest which is 4.0.3.1, so what you need to do is wipe, flash cyanmod 4.0.3.1, make sure you download the correct version of that theme here is the link and flash it. Just make sure you DO NOT wipe before flashing the theme. You should be all set after. PM me if you need more help.
How many people are going to have to ask you lol...? We want to help but you gotta tell us what CM version you have.

Flashing is changing the rom. You can find roms in the android development forum. I would suggest you use cyanogen mod 4.0.4 and then goto the themes and wallpapers forum and find one that works with it.
First thing you need to do is download the cyanogen mod 4.0.4 rom from android development forum. Put it on your sd card (if you cant boot up your g1 then goto recovery (home+power) and then goto console, hit enter, then type ums_enable and hit enter then you can plug it into your computer and load the cyanogen 4.0.4, rename it to update then on your phone type ums_disable and hit enter) then unplug your phone and type recovery and hit enter. Now hit wipe and after its done hit apply update, when its done reboot your phone. It will take 5-10 mins to boot up and after you go the the initial setup you can plug it into your computer and put the theme you choose on the sd card, delete the cyanogen mod (update.zip) then rename the theme to update and reboot your phone into recovery, hit apply update and after its done reboot your phone and it will take awhile again. If you do it all right your theme will be applied and you will be all good.
Ha this is going to sound funny but no one has mentioned it yet and I know there are some impatient people out there.
Are you waiting at the G1 screen for at least 15 mins? After a flash it can take upto 15 mins on the G1 screen to boot.

my friend went from JACxHERO 1.5, CRC1 build ROM with partitioned sdcard and he wanted to flash to MoCaDo's newest build; and everytime the G1 screen comes up, it goes away and just keeps starting over... over and over.
Can someone please help??
I have a rooted G1 with CM 4.0.4, as I have been unable to upgrade without cm's new recovery image. But in my pursuit of installing this, I have encountered a new problem. I don't have any recovery image! When I try to boot into recovery, it reboots once after the G1 screen and then goes to a blank screen, where it eventually just turns off. Any ideas on how I can get cm 1.4, or any recovery for that matter? Oh, and I used to have a recovery image (jf 1.43 I think) but I somehow lost it. I then had some weird one that wasn't from a specific developer, and was feature limited. Now I don't have one at all, and really want to get to the newest rom. Please help me!
Have you tried puting the recovrey image on you sd and flashing from terminal
just check cyanogenmod.com website and goto wiki and read on how to install cyanogen's or amon's recovery image
yeah..ill be that guy this time...
wRong section fool I pity you, use Q & A....
I've tried all that, and at least twice or three time each.
If you cannot boot into regular recovery, your best bet would probably be holding camera and power button together (bootloader)... if you can do that then you should be able to use the recovery image (rc 29) you used to root your phone to restore the recovery... It will no longer be rooted after recovery is done but you can always just reroot the phone... hope that this helps
And sorry for posting in the wrong section, I'm not exactly sure where everything is supposed to go yet, and I thought this was the right area. My bad.

any recovery problems can usually be solved by this:
# cat /sdcard/recovery.img > /system/recovery.img
whereas /sdcard/recovery.img refers to the file you want to use

it's strange that you would refer to them as a bully simply for enforcing rules that no one seems to follow .. everyone has been asked to post general questions to the Q&A and specific questions to the appropriate thread that has already been started

Did you let the HTC recovery image boot all the way . The one you have to install before installing Cyanogen 4.2.5. You should of lost root d/t this. When you try and pull up recovery is there a phone with a "!" ? If so try Atl L or Alt S to see if it pulls up anything.
Also do you have the newest Radio? ( could be the issue also )
I hate to ask questions that in most case i would consider nubish...
but i am trying to upload a custom rom to my phone and every time i reboot and hold down the menu and the power button i get only an option to clear phone (which i have tried to no avail) now i just need to know what i am doing wrong i have rooted my phone and when i hold the home keys and the power keys on my sprint hero (updated to newst stock rom *just trying to be thurow with my info*) it does one of two things 1.) it could boot up into the screen with gree text white background and little androids on scateboards with my only option being clear memory or exit menu key does nothing 2.) sometimes it boots up and gives me a triang with a exlamation point in it with a image of a phone laying down.
Please help me my email is [email protected] or call or text me at 330-321-4294 any help would greatly apreciated call or text any time of day i will be gracious for the help
did you install recovery 1.2.3 or 1.5 after rooting and before flashing the rom?
recovery is what allows you to install updates, backup, restore, etc.
im a dumb noob
never did i think i would call myself a noob but you have showed my how nubish i really am i am now going to go search for this recovery 1.5 but is there a link you can give me too it and is there a rep up button that i can give you points for this?

no worries....
1.5: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596879
I would use v1.5.2 found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124
There were some reports of problems with 1.5.1.
After you flash it (read the instructions in the above thread) you will see a black screen with green text. Congratulations, you are in "recovery" mode! Navigate and select through the menu with the trackball.
One of the first things you should do is make a backup using Nandroid. After that you can flash your custom ROM by selecting the .zip while in recovery mode.
Actually, all of this is in this thread (which is now stickied):

Have fun!
I rooted the nexus one as it said on the "theunlockr" web site
and the process went smoothly, the phone restarted and was working properly
next thing I wanted to add the Arabic scrpt to the phone
so I did as the "android-devs" web site said I should
and it went as it says it should
up to the point where I had to reboot, I did so
and since then the phone wont open beyond the G1 logo
I tried rooting again, but it says the phone is already Unlocked
I tried removing the files I pushed to the phone by using other Command Prompt orders such as DEL and PULL, but it didnt change anything
It goes on the Nexus one logo (the colored X) or the Android mascot with an exclamation mark in a triangle!
what to do? please help!

Assuming you have installed a ROM such as Cyanogens, hold the volume down button in while the phone starts and choose recovery. In here wipe the phone then flash the .zip file again. As long as you can get into fastboot you should be fine

You first need to fastboot flash a custom recovery, then you can use recovery to wipe and flash a custom ROM.
Yeah, the ! screen means you need to flash amon ra, do a search and you will find many a thread, start here, -----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829&highlight=amon+ra+recovery There are guides in the stickies on this section and several others available with a quick search. From there you can put a rom on the sd and flash it. Just relax, a little searching for instructions and you will be up and running.

should I try to flash recovery image!?
Yes, you must flash the amon ra recovery. Read the available tutorials available up in the stickies in this section. The amon ra thread I linked to in my previous post also has instructions. Basically you want to download it and put the image in the same place as fastboot. Boot your phone into fastboot mode by powering on while holding the trackball. Connect your phone via usb. Open a command window in the same folder where fastboot was and where you just put the amon ra recovery image by holding shift and right clicking inside the folder and selecting open command window here from the resulting menu. Type or copy paste "fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.img" without the quotation marks. Again read some of the tutorials so you have a good idea of what you are trying to do, many of them walk you through step by step. Once you have done that you can move on to flashing a rom.

thank you for the help <3
Ok, glad you got er done. Next time and there will be a next time if you continue to play with this stuff, relax. Its almost always something that can be fixed as long as you dont pull the battery during boot or a radio flash.

Ok Im no noob to android, but I had this Zio from my brother (not needed), I deleted all partitions at one point, bricked, then just yesterday I figured Id try to bring it back. Fastboot flashed cache/image/system/data and I still cant get it to boot. Anyone want to hold my hand and walk me through this... I cant get past fastboot screen.
Which partitions exactly did you delete?
Need more info.
Did you flash the images provided here?
Sounds to me that you are missing the boot image if you only get fastboot screen
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
I think I deleted every single partition,I've used a couple diffrent boot.img's, some one flashes, but can't boot. I've tried the package.zip that has all the img's, flashed them rebbot via adb but still won't boot, tried installing cwm, won't install. Tried booting to recovery via fastboot (fastboot boot recovery recovery.img) all files arfe in sdk/tools... Am I screwed?

Yep..
If you deleted _all_ of your partitions then yes, ur screwed until u can find someone who can dump those missing images for you to flash. o.0
Once u get those, ur good to go.
I figured I could use the none Sprint images, guess not...
