I can't get google search to install on my n1. Using CM6.00-N1-RC3. Any ideas. It downloads, installs, then at the end says installation unsuccessful. I have tried several times, same message.
Nevermind, I found the answer in another thread. Sorry for the post
did you flash the gapps when you flashed rc3

Right now I'm trying to install the Flash 10.1 apk file and have followed every instruction perfectly. When I use ANY app installer it still asks me to "Complete Action Using"...And a list of unrelated programs come up to install the app with. The only one that is related is the factory Package Installer. When I choose this I get a prompt telling me basically I can't install something not from the Market. Is there anything I can do. You're help would be greatly appreciated.

The reason for that is the Captivate has sideloading disabled. You'll have to look around a bit, but there's quite a few threads on the topic throughout the Cap forums.
But full-flash (only flash lite) doesn't work on 2.1 anyway, so you're probably better off not wasting your time on that either =P
I installed that and still couldn't get any flash to work. I'm waiting for Froyo.

Thanks for the help
Hi, so i searched and searched on here and other android forums and cant seem to find a link that works to download side load wonder machine or airsideload. All the links that i have found are dead ended or don't exist anymore for Mac. I am trying to resolve a problem on my captivate, it shows the com.google.process.gapps. I have read on other forums of how to fix this problem but cant download other apps or .apk to fix this problem because of the error. So that being said I am trying to side load the gtalkservice.apk but nowhere can i find a link that works to download a usable side loader. after everything done and said i just want to be able to download apps from the google Market. Please help been on this for a couple of days and cant find a good link. the captivate is already rooted successfully using one click root. YOUR HELP WILL BE VERY APPRECIATED

You can sideload apps without a sideloader if you're rooted (depending on your firmware version). Although, at this point I would just flash stock KK4 with Odin to get you on stock GB. From there, you can download and flash Corn Kernel to flash a JB ROM. Perhaps you haven't reached that far yet but it's definately something you should look into.
Mind explaining how you got that error btw? And, did you try clearing your Play Store's data?
So I've been having some issues with my Moto lately. I have had it sitting around because I was to lazy to fix it. Anyway, my main problem is that I can't add my google account and I can't install any roms. For my google account, I always get the error " There was a problem communicating with google servers." I've tried the 2 step verification thing but I don't have 2 step on. Also when I try to add a new rom, I get the error, "Can't install this package on top of.." and the rest tuns off the box. Any ideas?

I have no idea what you are doing "trying to add a new rom" but you appear to be doing it wrong. You don't "add a new rom" - you flash ROMs and you don't do it from the device itself - a PC is required (unless you are using TWRP custom recovery).
I suggest trying a factory reset from the settings menu.
If that doesn't solve your problem, follow the instructions in the "Return to 100% Stock" thread in the general sub-forum to flash the entire stock SBF for your carrier. DO NOT DOWNGRADE or you will brick. Be sure to only flash the same version you are on, or higher.
Everything you need is linked in that thread including all tools, drivers, and links to the firmware files themselves. Remember to back up anything important first (pictures, music, etc.)...this WILL erase everything. Everything should work perfectly afterwards.
Good Luck.
Yes definitely just RSD lite the factory FXZ

It sounds like your on the bn official rom? Believe you have to be rooted which leapinlar shows how to do in his guide here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35811322#post35811322
And you can grab the flash apk anywhere like here on xda -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774336
If your not on bn offical rom, you just need the latest firefox installed and an apk from above link sideloaded with "unknown sources" setting enabled in android settings. That's it.
Different apk versions may cause flash to act in different ways. I had used the 11.1.115.81 version and it gets the job done.
Something auto updated and made the device unstable. I had backed up the image as it states in the how to but when I went to restore it back got a md5 error. He he serves me right for reading the instructions.
cheers I will give it a try.

Hi. I know I'm probably a bit late, but the Flash browser plugin is available on the UK nook store. Just search for browser plugin.
I tried to post the link, but it says I need 10 posts to do that.
I know this works, as I installed it last week. I'm on the stock rom, so this should work for you. Hope this helps.
i just downloaded an elemental x kernel
how do i flash it on my htc one m7
and is a rom necessary to be flashed before flashing the kernel.
can i only flash the kernel without flashing any rom?
No offense, but if you needed to ask these questions, you're better off not touching anything on your phone
O come on....how is that no offense
Just because you know now about it you are being an arrogant bastard
I'm just trying to learn here. And there was a time you didn't also knew this.
So....grow up or don't comment.
If you wanted to learn, you would have read something before posting those questions. Those are the very basics of flashing and you have about 10 million posts on how to flash anything on any phone. So, who's the arrogant bastard here? Me or you?
I now know the answer no thanks to you
And yes I searched bit couldn't find anything
I can't install the facebook app and I couldn't find anything
Anyway I don't want to fight. You can keep your precious knowledge in your pocket.
And go be arrogant.

I'll answer your second question since its not already written in the OP of elementalX (as opposed to your first question/how to flash)
No you don't need to flash a rom before flashing a kernel as long as you already have a rom installed (because all roms for the M7 comes with their own kernel so if you flash elementalX first and then a custom rom, elementalX will be overwritten by that rom's kernel.) Make sure you chose the right elementalX version for your rom version.:good:
Thank you kind sir

Whats the problem exactly when you try to install it? You are installing it from the play store?
Yes from play store. I also downloaded apk but couldn't install it
I tried wiping cache, I tried deleting and adding my account but no luck
It gives the error 504. I searched the internet.
There was one guy who said fix permissions but still nothing
I restored my Android and tried installing facebook but still nothing
It worked perfectly on the roms before but suddenly it stopped working.

It gives error 504 when trying to install the app from the play store? If yes 504 is a gateway error and it can happen for multiple reasons... SO every other apps from the playstore download fine but facebook give error 504?

If it worked fine on all previous roms then it might be a problem with your actual rom....
Try to wipe your cache from recovery or wipe Google play and Google services cache
Yes I tried wiping cache (google play store , google play services , TWRP)
I also wiped dalvik cache
BUT still nothing
Yes I searched on 504. And I tried different internet connections but still nothing
Facebook worked fine on this rom before but now I cannot install it.
Arrogance aside, I just tried to download facebook and it gave me the same error but it installed fine. It must be something with play store or facebook app. You can use facebook lite untill the real facebook works
It's been a month I can't install it. I gave facebook feedback but still.

Weird. Hold on while I try one thing. If it works for me, I'll give you a link. It should take around 20 minutes for me, but only few seconds for you if it actually works
OK I'm waiting

Try this one. It worked fine for me. It's an old app, so I wouldn't recomend updating it because you will most likely have issues. Something is wrong with facebook on play store
Nope
Still didn't work.
