Sometimes i can download from the app store, sometimes i wait forever. If i use WIFI it works flawlessly. I am on the ROGERS NETWORK, everything else works
they do end up downloading, it just takes awhile to start, I don't know why it does it.
I have a similar problem... it doesn't download apps via wifi, only on 3G, HSDPA or GPRS...
In the German Vodafone network is it the same. I've read thats a Problem of the google Market all over the world. But google knows the problem, and they work for it to fix them.
I just rooted my phone last night with cm 6.0 and everything is running great. I tried installing the wifi tether apk and everyone I try makes my phone crash and reboot. I even tried barnacle with no luck either.
Any suggestions or does someone know of a working version for the Slide?
Thanks
I tried barnacle yesterday and it worked for me, I was using the legacy version, if u use the new one u have to disable wpa or something like that

I tried the new version of barnacle and disabled wpa and it won't do anything. It shows its connected but no webpages will load.
After getting the market up and running, i am unable to download apps or connect to gtalk on any public, non secured wifi network. However if i try using any secured network they work fine. When downloading apps it hangs on starting download. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know a fix?
I confirm, open networks are a problem
I can definitely verify this as accurate. I was beating my head against this for a few days off and on. Once I joined a secured network, everything worked as expected. On an open network, no gtalk or market apps downloads. Wierd.
Heyho,
I'm using FroyoBread & GingerDX for 2 month now i guess, but im encountering 1 problem in both roms (and all versions):
I can't use/connect to ICQ, Xfire, the market and google talk, if HSDPA is enabled (its not working on 2G too)...
When im opening the market im getting a timeout... the other apps i mentioned aboved aren't working too.
But when im enabling wifi its working fine.
I already tried several apk's and i already did many full wipes and so on.
Is there any way to fix it?
No solution? ;/
what is your carrier and did you test your data connection work??
My carrier is Base Germany -> its related to Eplus...
The date connection is working fine, i got a full 3G connection and i can open every website... but as i already mentioned the apps are not working.
But when i enable wifi the apps are working fine and i can connect to the market/icq/google talk...
That bug is kinda strange.
Edit: 2G seems to be buggy, i clicked on only 2 G networks and after 10 seconds he is loosing the 2G signal... after another 10 seconds its active again.
But 3G is working (i can open any website i want to) fine (except that i cant use any app with internet access).
The provider signal is really fine, so thats not the problem.
Sometimes, I lose my wifi connetion at home and can only access the internet via my wireless broadband connection (USB Stick) which I cannot share using my wifi router. Now I can manually download nightlies and flash 'em on the NookColor just fine, but the problem is, since the NC cannot connect to a wifi internet, I'm unable to view nightlies user reviews in ROM Manager which helps me out a lot to determine whether the nightly I'm downloading has a major bug or something. It would be nice if we have a Nightly Thread (for Encore NookColor) where people can post and give feedback whether the latest nightly is good or not. I downloaded a nightly the other day and now I'm stuck at Airplane Mode. Tried all the things I could think of to turn it off but it just kept turning back on.
There is already a CM thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960542

FWIW I'm running build 240 without any major showstopper bugs (well except for market force closing whenever you use the back button)
As for wifi access when your internet is down, you could use a phone that can do wifi tethering - I use my Droid Pro to get internet access on my nook everywhere.
