So what about Bluetooth tethering - Touch CDMA Android Development

i know there was talk on here a while ago about sharing internet connections over USB or about getting wifi onto the touch, here is my question is it possible to share my data connection from my active hero to my touch, i know devices like the ARCHOs 5 tablets use a BT DUN to share a connection from a phone, so how hard would it be to implement?

A Few Tilt Questions

First off, thank you to all who post here, I have found a ton of useful information on my new toy
New Tilt, only a few days old (it's been hard reset to remove bloat). I have a few questions that I haven't found answers for on here yet.
1. Establishing a BlueTooth sync connection to my work laptop. I can pair the devices, but my work laptop can only see 3 BT profiles: Dial-up Networking, Network Access Point and FTP. I would ideally like to be able to sync between the two just using a BT connection, but I can't seem to figure out how. My laptop uses a BT 1.2 adapter from D-Link (DBT-120).
2. In the mean time, I've been connecting my Tilt to my laptop with the USB cable. Every time I connect it, it forces down my laptops proxy settings to my active internet connection on my phone. Since the work internet access is restricted, I have all internet access on my phone set to use MediaNet. However, this breaks when the proxy setting is pushed down. How do I stop this from happening?
So far those are my only two issues with the Tilt. Awesome phone otherwise.

Use Kaiser as Router??

I was thinking of using my kaiser to connect my pc to a wireless network,
I have a wireless router in my house but i dont have a wire that goes to my room, so i want to connect my Kaiser via usb to the computer and the Kaiser to the wireles router via WIFI so i can use the internet in my room in my computer.
Is it Possible?
I have a wireless modem option on my dutty 6 hybrid rom. I would think that that option could be tweeked to add an option to use wifi instead of cellular and then you would be able to recieve over b.tooth and wouldnt need a cable either. I would donate and then ask one of the devlopers very nicely if they knew of or could write a tweek for me. But thats just what my plan of attack wood be
It is possible and there is a reg hack that allows wifi sharing over ICS - but sticking a wifi usb dongle in the pc would be a lot easier.
As a second thought, it dawned on me that i hacked a linksys wrt54gs and changed the flash/os to dd-wrt`s 3rd party software
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Wireless_Bridge
By switching to dd-wrt i then had an option to make the AP a wireless bridge and thats how i connect my slingbox to my network. I would recommend that anyone with a linksys router re-flash to this 3rd party software which enables TONS of features to this device. Hope this helps. PEACE!!
These might help you.

holy crap !
the jongma thing works perfectly with dutty's rom.
im amazed, my computer is connected to the internet via wifi signal that my phone is broadcasting. thats incredible.
on 3g its fffffffffffast!
Is there any way to use wifi instead of 3G etc? I have a Wii here at school with wireless. It wont connect to the schools wireless network because of the routers used. Im thinking if I could use the Kaiser to brodcast wifi and connect the Wii that way then maybe it would work? Any thoughts?

Kaiser as a Wireless Router?

Say I have an iPod Touch nearby and would like to use the data connectivity of my Kaiser for the iPod's web browsing. Is there any application out there which turns the Kaiser into a wireless router so that nearby Wifi devices can leverage its bandwidth?

but some people are not sure it's safe
I use that program on my tilt and haven't had any problems, I did have a little trouble getting it to work in the first place until I realized that my internet connection sharing program wasn't working, the thread posted above also has a link to ICS that works great.
Very cool program

wifi tethering through bluetooth connection

if i connect to another phone with bluetooth, can i pick up their 3g/4g/or w/e internet connection that their carrier provides them with my rooted htc hero?, i have the wifi tether app dont know if that would help
Short answer - no. WiFi tethering allows your HTC Hero unit to act as a wireless 'hotspot' for other WiFi-enabled devices to connect to, using a cellular data connection on the host device. Bluetooth on most phones was not intended to be used for modem and tethering purposes.

1-Yes you can use a wifi dongle to share the interwebs with the x8.
2-Bluetooth is very slow and the cheap ones only have a few meters of coverage, you can buy a wifi pen for almost nothing and the setup is easier.
3-Adhoc is a direct connection between two devices of the same type (computers, phones, etc are clients, routers are access points). Connecting a phone to a computer uses an adhoc connection.
4- A dial up connection is an old way of connecting to the internet (there are several types of dial up) tru a phone line. The modem dials a number and establishes a very slow connection based on pulses. People like us don't use that anymore, only banks and such for secure "out of the web" data transfers..
