Hey guys I'm just wondering what the stock kernel version for 1.5 is. I am trying to get my phone back 100% stock and I'm not sure if my kernel is back, I restored my original system image from a nandroid backup and I know I loaded a custom kernel at some point. My Kernel is 2.6.27-533ce219d. If this isn't the correct version could you point me to where to I could download it. Thanks in advance.

download this attachment and flash it as a normal update.zip in recovery. It is the stock boot.img from the 1.56.651.2 RUU (aka the original 1.5 build)
or you could just use the 1.5 RUU...
Thanks, one other thing I noticed is I have flipz custom pri from long time ago still on there, anyway to get rid of that without cell connection?

oh, his pri.. hmm i think that will be fixed w/ the boot.img... not sure. let me know how the boot.img works
Well I went ahead and ran the RUU the kernel and the PRI are still the same. So I may have the original kernel, the PRI I may not need to concern myself with just yet, I have been working with the radio on it and wanted to get everything back to stock so I'm sure my customizations aren't messing it all up.

anybody have the stock kernel from froyo in .zip format to flash in recovery? i want to go back to the stock kernel to test battery life
You can just reflash the zip file containing the rest of the system files, you still have all of them stock so there will be no risk of it doing anything you don't want to happen.
is it going to delete any files or reset any settings?
are you using the cyan root kernel? if so i am wondering the same thing. i am not sure if the 1st zip on his thread is the stock original and if flashing that will be like yo never changed anything and fully stock.

It will just replace the files that are in the update.zip. It's just like a theme, replacing files.
Ya I am using the kernel. Well ill try it shortly and let u guys know how it goes

download the update with NO radio from link below since we already have radio installed and youll gain back the original kernel without losing anything. you wont even know u did anything

Every single one of them are failing @ System.
I have flashed many roms and have yet to see this issue.
I have even tried to install a nandroid and they say system.img not found, skipping restore of System
my quadrant before doing anything was ~950 so im assuming no lagfix was present.
did you flash back to stock with odin1click??

Going back to stock is the only safe way to install a rom imo.
Do a proper stock install and watch all the roms work.
im sure it will.
im just trying to learn why. it all started when i went to install SetiroNs 1.4.6 cwm

Because it is the phone...not the rom or kernel...unless you had a bad flash to begin with.
This is why it is recommended when switching to different roms...and even sometimes flashing updates to certain roms ...that it is the most prudent thing to do, to head off these types of issues that come up sometimes. It is also recommended to do a master clear as well...and I usually go one step further and wipe and format the drives and do a factory reset. Sometimes doing it more than just once too. It may be a royal PITA...but...the alternative is what you are experiencing it seems...
Mac
is there a way to tell which filesystem is being used?
i have CWM 2.5.1.2
my Axura restore did work.......so i at least have a phone for the moment
tried to restore stock with one click and it wont flash the boot.img . Said something like INFOPreinstallaton error. Cant root either. What to do?
Well, first off, your question is in the wrong thread...it will most likely be moved soon...
second....did you update to .893?
Edit: if so and your bootlooped.... this is the one you want http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7801-roo...v10-linuxwindows-get-root-after-893-ota-oops/
ill move my questions. Sorry! Yes and no. Did forever root, flashed update, flashed liberty rom. Then i noticed the version was back to 886 so i tried the oneclick instead of backup and thats when the error for boot.img showed but everything else flashed. My phone is running but i cant root it shows an error as well. thanks for the reply.

when you flashed liberty, you flashed .886 system, but the .893 kernel and radio remained. not sure which one click you used to lose root, are you sure you lost root? if, so.... this is just my opinion and what i would do....I would run th3orys and dhackers fix above and flash 2.1 when it comes out.
i will try that. Thanks for the info.
Let's start with a little background as to how I got into this mess
- I had a perfectly working i8190L running SlimBean 4.3 from Maclaw (and I should've left it alone since its the wife's phone)
- I wanted to try out the new SlimKat 4.4 (http://get.novafusion.pl/?id=955)
- After a clean flash of slimkat, the new ROM was running fine after I completed setup EXCEPT baseband was 'xxxx'
- I rebooted into recovery and flashed GT-I8190_modem.bin-XXAMJ3-update2.zip because it was in my sdcard. I thought flashing a new radio would change the baseband except now I'm stuck in a bootloop with NO ABILITY TO BOOT TO RECOVERY!!!!
- I can only boot into Download mode, so I can still ODIN flash the system
Can someone suggest how/if I can fix this? I'm just kicking myself for turning a fully working phone into a brick with my wife breathing down my shoulders
my working setup was TWRP 2.7, SlimBean 4.3 and I had no idea which radio the i8190L came with default
I created a nandroid before all this mess, but I just need a way to get back into Recovery
You downloaded the wrong modem file. You need the one for the I8190L, but you flashed one for the I8190.

Sorry but you are going to sleep on the couch tonight I suggest this:
You must download the original rom from SamMobile, install it through Odin and then install again through Odin the Recovery and through Recovery your "old" new Rom. When you are in the new Recovery check for the nandroid backup that you made . If it isnt there look for the couch because the phone is with the "old" new Rom without any of the past data.
Btw if you want you can upgrade your baseband from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2526831
Good luck
No recovery at all or bootloop in recovery as well?

Don't bother trying to flash it if nothing happens, drain the battery, return to seller and get replacement. I got free replacement from Amazon with my bricked rooted S3 mini.

just to clarify... what is consider "the original rom from SamMobile"? There are plenty of versions and country codes to choose from... I just wanted to make sure I'm downloading the correct one.... i've done enough of using the wrong files already

It depends on what country you're in and if the phone is locked to any specific carrier.
If it's not locked then I believe any i8190L firmware will do, just to get the phone running again.

It was a tough decision for me, it was either stick to a ****ty BlackBerry or get a free replacement and sacrifice the data. Some of it should be synced to your Google account

You could also try to reflash just recovery thru Odin and see if it works.

You are in Canada but the L version is for the Latin America countries. So the firmware must be from one of that countries. Which one i can't tell you. You should ask your seller.
[problem solved]
Ok, I was able to restore the phone with /u/jstath1972's suggestion
1. I went to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and downloaded the latest 'L' firmware
2. I used ODIN to flash the firmware
3. the phone REBOOTED!!!
(once the phone rebooted, the rest was easy)
4. powered off and ODIN flashed the lastest TWRP
5. powered off and booted into recovery
6. RESTORED NANDROID so wife would stop giving me the look
7. updated baseband as suggested: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2526831
THANK YOU THANK YOU :good:
side note: i wish my work was this effective in resolving technical issues (just my 2 cents)

Good sleep tonight, my friend ! :good:
Flashed a Paranoid Android rom a long time ago, can't seem to get back to stock no matter what I try. Need to get to a stock rom to activate the phone for my dad.
You didn't list what you tried, so what I would do:
If you want pure stock, download the latest RUU and run that. You may have to update the firmware first.

Be sure to back EVERYTHING up onto a computer. RUU clean wipes your phone. It will also undo any mods you made like HBOOT, recovery, etc.
tip:run the EXE. that's the one that contains EVERYTHING you'll need, including the stock ROM.
