Keyboard Delay / Lag

Is anyone else having a delay on there keyboard when pressing the space bar? When writing and email / sms etc i find that im pressing the space then typing my next word but the first letter of the next word is on the end of the last word then a space then the rest of the letter of the next word.
If you understand that you've done really well but thats the best way i could think of discribing it!
Yes i have the exact same problem. It also buggs with the backspace.
What you mean is this right?
This is at est! (Should be This is a test)
Yep thats exactly it. I also get it with the backspace.
Annoying the hell out of me, makes writing an email really difficult!
I had something simular with my Universal. Cant remeber if it got fixed
ok this is driving me up the f'in wall!!! Surely it cant be on everyones Kaiser cos everyone would be going mad about it by now.
Please please if anyone has any ideas shout up
What language do u have on the keyboard? I have norwegian and i am suspecting that the language might be the problem. Think English is ok
English, just to confirm this is the Slide out keyboard im talking about not the on screen keyboard
Yes it is the slide out. So its not the language of the keyb. I see u have the schaps 4.10 i seem to have 4.21 not that that helps anything hehe
No im just increadably dumb and put the wrong version number in my sig! LOL Thanks for pointing it out dude, ill change it now! lol

TouchPal 3.5 and HTC Diamond = incompatibility !!!

Does anyone else have the following problem ?:
When you go to the SMS tab, and press the small box to start writing new SMS, if you use the original Diamond keyboard, you can just type a few letters of your contact and it will fully appear. If you use TouchPal (I'm using version 3.5), this feature is disabled, you have to type your entire contact name every time, it doesn't recognize the first few letters and try to find a match. This is SO annoying !
Please tell me there is some workaround...
Could it be that the Diamond's original keyboard stores all the contact information in the Keyboard dictionary ?, if this is true, it means no keyboard apart from Diamond's original will allow quick find of contacts in SMS...
no problem with me..
say for eg you wanna call "home"
just press H O and enter and then it will detect home in my contact.
i suspect the problem may be.. touchpal "store" what you pressed in its own list instead of going up to the SMS directly..
Same problem. Would love to see an solution, but I think there is none...
Wizard,
Do you have the Touchpal keyboard ???
its free for personal use available online..
The contacts don't display when you start typing, but if you only type a few letters and then press send a page appears with all contacts that have the letters you've typed in their names. You can then tap the contact you wish to send to.
I don't find it a problem.

[Q] Turn off automatic text suggestions from phonebook

Hi guys, got an annoying 'problem' when I text. Basically for example if I am texting words (I have predictive texts on & use the traditional keypad layout, because I am old school like that), words like 'less' will automatically choose a name from my phonebook like Jess - is there a way to stop it from picking out my phonebook names as word suggestions? It's so irritating!
Plus, I also have another weird problem where some of the letters do not show up when I am typing so I can't even just press a single letter unless predictive text is off? This issue happens on & off randomly & I don't know why..
Example: I want to text this smiley =P
But when I have typed in = and want to type in P next, that letter doesn't show, instead it only shows R Q 7.. Therefore I will have to type in a word like Pet & then erase the 'et' from it!
What's going on? Does it make sense to anybody?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Setting > language & input > Xperia Keyboard > Text Input Setting >
Then u will have what u want.
quick fix (un-check)
word suggestion ( 3rd: i never want to have...)
Thanks for the suggestion, however it still doesn't solve both issues
Never had any issues on my Neo so don't know if it's a bug or not on the Z regarding the last issue?

i don have this problem with keyboard !! can you send screen-shot?

The P doesn't show up, & this happens with some other letters as well. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I haven't done anything differently to my text settings or anything either? But even then those settings doesn't seem to affect this problem
Anybody else know? Sorry to bump it, No one will see this on page 2
Works fine in all the layouts. Try factory reset.

Try also with an alternative keyboard, like Smart keyboard pro

Unknown language translator

Hello all,
I'm not sure if this is general or off topic. Please share as I would really love assistance with this. I would like it to get to the right person/people.
You all are great at what you do by the way.
If you don't mind me giving you a little history/herstory lol behind my request.
The other day I ran into a young lady which I lended assistance. I found she didn't speak English. I then attempted unsuccessfully to use a translator app to communicate with her. Thing is I couldn't understand the language she spoke to input the correct language to translate.
Which brings me to my dilemma. Does anyone know of or wouldn't mind developing an app to assist with people with communicating though you do not particularly know exactly what language they speak.
I would be so very grateful for your help thank you for your attention and assistance.

It does not recognize spoken language however. That would be a nice feature in an app, but impossible to make I would think...

The mic doesn't work in that function. :-/

Let's hope for the best. Don't cut it off before it has had a chance to be attempted.
Well I guess that it's surely doable, just make the app use the Google speech recognition to determine the language being spoken.
Yet it means that you would have to somehow let the lady know that you want her to talk directly to the phone

I have the picture that for the speech recognition to work it needs to know the language that is being spoken. So it cannot guess the spoken language. Correct me if I and wrong?
Edit: now I and laughing at the idea that someone comes asking for help and you start waving a phone in their face while making weird gestures

Didn't say it wouldn't require some tinkering here and there... I bet it would work like all the song recognizing apps, I mean TrackID or similar. Just record a few secs of the incoming sound, compare it with the database and boom, your amigo sprechst français

It doesn't? Well, sh*t...
Though truthfully I was thinking more along the lines of letting your conversational partner simply either type (so Google can recognise it) or select their own language in the app. You can go a long way with pointing and gesturing.
