if anyone has used trillian as there multi service im client, there is a beta version for android now. i've installed it and it seems to work pretty well although some are having issues as would be expected with a beta release. trillian.im/get/android.
It worked great the first day. but now whenever I sign in through my phone I have a history of opened conversations, and it force closes if I try to send an instant message.
That being said, I love how it sends a diagnostic report on every problem, and when it works, it will be the best instant messaging application for Android.
Everything works great for me except it won't log onto MSN...

I am either blind, an idiot, or both. I want to use my g tablet with Google voice to look @ my SMS inbox and send SMS while on wifi. It would be nice to almost, if possible, send messages n a queue of sorts then once wifi is available have them sent. Bugatti this point it would just be nice to be able to use Google voice for SMS on this.
I already use GV for SMS on mine. Are you having trouble installing, or are your messages just not getting sent?
I am not having any issues with this running Vegan 5.1.
Would using the web version of google voice solve the issue for ya?
I already have google voice installed but it hangs up during the skip setting up voicemail part.. i choose i do not want to use google voice for making calls etc, and also tried all the other options as well so in case there was something weird about it not liking me choose do not use google voice for calls or what not.
do eother oneof you have a link to the GV app you installed where I could try that instead? I also am having a hard time finding in the market other apps as well. nother topic for another day.
I ran into the same thing when I was trying out Vegan. I never solved it myself since I decided to stick with Calkulin's ROM, but they seem to have figured it out in this thread:

Check this thread. I used the second DL from the guy's Dropbox/

Just two simple questions:
Why there is not Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone? Android has it, iphone has it and even Black Berry. Why Windows doesn't?
Why all Facebook apps have serious problems catching and showing notifications? The only one that atm works well is JTD for Facebook, and so I suppose is it possible to make it working.
Am I missing something?
First of all, Facebook messaging is built into the OS. You don't need a separate app at all.
Second, there is a Facebook IM/Chat app ("fim chat"), at least on WP7. I admit that I don't see it in the WP8 store yet.
Third, there are a number of other apps (IM+ being probably the most popular) that implement Facebook messaging.

Hi!
thank you for your answer!
The built in Facebook messaging system works really bad: (correct me if I' m not right) it works only if you decide to stay online (so offline msg doesnt work properly) and it doesn't work in receving messages from people that are not in your friend list
The same happens for IM+, you can't chat while you are offline and neither you can chat with people not in your friend list.
For these things I asked "why?"
I' m really interested in knowing if there is something that I missing (like maybe something that afflict Facebook chat that makes it difficult in being developed in third part apps)
I really like wp 8, it has great potential and stuff but it's hard for me to figure out why it misses some must-working apps
FB Chat in IM+ is, I believe, just implemented using Jabber/XMPP (I think that's the underlying transport of FB IMs, at least). Support for receiving offline messages (which I believe Fim has) probably requires deeper integration with the service. Mind you, I see no reason to sign out of FB on the phone, and you can get messages even when the app isn't running (IM+ push notifications work fine for me, though the app in general is a bit slow and clunky).
My biggest issue with any of the facebook apps, is that there is always an issue where notifications never come in promptly when I have my status set to appear offline. On the os end, the closest I can get while being able to see friends online is having it set to Away.
I'm looking for a Windows Phone 8 Facebook app that will allow me to view and send photos in the chat window - Does such an app even exist
And I don't want one that just sends a link to a photo for someone to click on
Im new to android and the N6. I have just finished transferring my text messages from my iphone to N6. Everything seemed to go smoothly, except that it would not let me delete any text messages. I then updated the messenger app as I noticed there was an update available for it. Now when I open the app, it says that it is "fetching conversations." It has been stuck at this screen for over 30 min. I have tried closing the app, restarting the device, anything I could think, but my text messages won't show up. Any advice on how I can fix this?
Thanks

Did you remove your phone number from the dumb Imessage server so it would actually work on android? Apple used to purposely cause issues when people switched.

I was trying to do this but was not able to receive the code from apple via text. Then i started having the issues with the messenger app. For whatever reason it is not able to pull up my texts. The problem, im guessing, lies within the app.
well it magically started working. I guess it just took forever to load all of my text messages from file.

I'm glad it finally started working for you. Apple likes making things a hassle from past experience. (ITunes music...)
Is anyone having an issue with this? I am attempting to use the default messaging application and whenever I press reply, it just opens the application on my phone.
Thanks.
That's what it is supposed to do but is not useful at all. You can reply by voice or get a 3rd party app to use for messaging. (I use Wear Messenger, which works 97% of the time)
I use "Coffee" which is an amazing app but I would say it works 90% of the time. If you install it, you may have to wait as much as a whole day for it to get itself set up and operational.
Coffee has worked great for me. Never had an issue with any delays
Kind of useless. The apple watch allows you to reply with some stock responses.
Hard to believe Android wear isnt set up to do that.
+1 for Coffee.
Hangouts allows you to reply to text messages and scroll through message threads.
I've had my ViVO fold for about 3 weeks now, and have everything working except I can't get the notification dot to appear in the corner of my text and Gmail widgets.
I have shuffled the bloatware onto the last page, and combined most of it into a bloatware folder, so I never see it, and implemented the phone entirely with Play store apps. I use native Google apps for Gmail and text, drive, docs, sheets, etc, and everything works fine except I have to access Gmail and messages, to see if I have any new emails or texts. I use T-Mobile and it worked fine from day one.
I have been reading XDA threads as a guest since I got my fold. I have seen the general discussion about vivo fold issues, but can't find it anymore.
What asking you for?
Mostly, I am reporting my experience of treating it like a regular Android phone, and ignoring the vivo stuff.
The only question I was asking was how to get the notification. On my Gmail and messages icon.

You should use just the stock message app which works fine with notifications and dual Colin display etc. no real advantage to using Google message and the scaling is way too huge. Does your Wi-Fi calling work? Mine is turned on but doesn’t work.
