How do I extract Samsung IME from the ROM? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I would like to learn more about on how to extract Samsung IME keyboard from the firmware.
I really like the number of the languages that JP3 rom supports and the way it changes the language by sliding the space bar.
If JP3 can't be applied to another firmware because it's 2.2.
I would still like to port the keyboard on JM5 to JH2 because JH2 only supports French and English.
Thank you for reading.

Dictionary from EPF30 to FRF91?

I was wondering if it is possible to extract the Dutch dictionary from the EPF30 rom and use it on FRF91 with stock keyboard. (if so, where's it located?)
I'm typing a lot in English and use the stock keyboard for that. For Dutch i now use BetterKeyboard, however with froyo i like the stock keyboard much better.
I've searched the forums, and all info is about the HTC_IME keyboard which i don't like.

[Q] Hebrew Language for European i9000

Hi all,
I would like to know if it's possible to have hebrew input and reading on my i9000.
I happen to have hebrew written emails, and can't see them neither answering them ..
thanks a lot !
I guess you are still on eclair, so you have three choices:
1) root and add hebrew fonts and keyboard but no RTL support.
2) flash your phone to jg8 firmware which comes with built in hebrew fonts and RTL support.
3) flash your phone to froyo firmware(or wait for one).

[REQ] Is it possible to get JJ1 with greek swype support

Hello guys,
I have a request from our kind chefs. Is it at all possible to have a JJ1 Rom that has the greek swype keyboard in it?
Thank you very much,
Tepes4
Is that possible?
I think you can get Swype from a different ROM where it supports greek. I have done it in Froyo JPH by getting the Swype binaries and libraries from an Eclair ROM. So if it works between Eclair and Froyo I assume it will work between two Eclair ROMs.
Unfortunately I dont remember the filenames that need to be replaced, but use the forum search function and you will find it. I think that one of the files is libSwypeCore.so or something.
/system/app/Swype.apk
/system/lib/libSwypeCore.so
/data/data/com.swype.android.inputmethod
I'm not sure if you need to remove that last one, previously I didn't need to. So find a swype with greek, and replace it with yours.
Sent from my GT-I9000T using XDA App
Thank you for your replies, but the main problem is that eclair uses 1.6 swype whereas froyo 2.2 something.
Is it possible to just extract the files from an eclair rom and port it directly to froyo?
Thank you for your replies!
Hi, I search for greek support for swype for my Galaxy Tab.
Although my Tab has greek in locale, there is no support in swype.
Isn't this weird?
