There are a lot of good threads for doing the Hard-SPL so that I can install custom ROMs like I did for my 8925. When I power up my TILT 2 (ATT&T) it says "WorldPhone".
My confusion is why neither the CDMA Worldphone or the GSM Hard-SPL tools are working. BOTH says that my device isn't connected. ActiveSync SAYS that it's connected and I can use ActiveSync to explore my device.
I got spoiled with my TyTnII so that now I can NOT stomach using the stock ROM on the new phone.
Any clarification would be appreciated.

That "Worldphone" thing is kinda confusing, I agree. Your phone is a GSM TP2, so you need to use the GSM TP2 HardSPL, i.e. the one in this forum. The CDMA phones are also referred to as Worldphones, but you don't have a CDMA phone so that one won't work.
You need to post up in the sticky HardSPL thread on your problem, rather than starting a new one. Try searching for and installing "enablerapinew.cab" on your phone, soft reset, sync it and try again.

I searched the faq - but couldn't find the answer. I had to use xp on my 8125 for flashing - but the 8925 / kaiser is new to me. Do I still have to use a xp machine to ruu from bootloader for a 6.1 rom?
Possibly
I know that you are looking for a difinitive answer but I have an 8525, My Kaiser just arrived @ the house so I will begin modding it tonight but I haven't had any problems bootloading the 8525 in vista, alot of the threads say that ppl have but it worked eventually. it just takes me a hole lot of time to get a new phone to connect for the first time, after that it's business as usual
I flash and do all sorts of fun stuff using Vista. Just think "Mobile Device Center Connection" instead of "ActiveSync Connection" and you'll be fine.
The absolute best thing you can do is to search for "Flashing with Vista" using the search at the top of the screen. There you will find posts from the Hermes Section that are still relevant. You will rool back the drivers to the Activesync USB drivers & this is good for many reasons. 1. Flashing 2. Using Mtty if something goes wrong.

I follow this rule n everythings ran 100% smooth not a single problem!
Gotcha all - but, when i tried to run ruu from the 6.1 rom, nothing happend when I was in bootloader? Is there a special custom rom for the 8925? I had to use a custom one for my old 8125
Ug - XP did it... i tried oli's sim unlocker but couldn't get the whole job done in vista for some reason.... but I didn't uncheck advanced connections first!
new tilt
Ok I got home around 10 & have been trying to get this thing to work for like an hour & a half now, no luck, when I try to hard spl & it goes to bootloader it stays there for a minute then gives me an error
I think it might have something to do with the newer 1.93 spl - I did eventually get it to work with xp, but vista kept hanging and I did resets on the device even though the instructions in the roms said not to.... man, that's nerve wracking! I think the older 1.92 spl version ones work with the ruu better??
ok so i just attempted to flash my sprint tp2 with the latest version of The Cell Pro ROM and once it rebooted it doesnt go past the TOUCH pro2 screen. help! this isnt my first time flashing but this is my first problem ive come across. i really hope i didnt kill my phone
You need to give more information...Did you hardspl your phone first? Did you security unlock it too? Did you verify that it took the hardspl/unlock if you did.. More information is need before we can help.
This is the GSM forum, they probably should honestly rename it to that in the title, if you go to the rhodium forum base theres a section specifically for CDMA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=517. If you search around there are other people that have done the same thing (flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone) that can give you steps to fix it.
I'm gonna guess that you flashed a GSM ROM from this forum on your CDMA device. Go here, download any ROM, extract it, and rename the .NBH file you extracted to RHODIMG.nbh. Now, place RHODIMG.nbh on a MicroSD card (which is formatted to FAT32), stick it in your phone while it is off, and press the power button while holding the Volume Down key. Now, follow the instructions that should be presented, and let the ROM flash. When it finishes (it'll say when it's done), soft reset and hopefully your device should be fine.
ill give the microsd card flash a shot. ill let you guys know how it goes. thanks for the help.. for the time being i switched back to my old mogul
phones back in action. thank for the tip, but still one small problem. I flashed mighty rom and looks and works great for the most part, but i cant connect to the internet. Data wont connect nor will wifi. wifi will detect networks but itll just keep trying to connect. with data an error message just keeps popping up everytime i try to connect. some help would be great

did the cell pro rom contain a radio?
if so, i think you should get the original radio that came with your device (Att or sprint ... etc) you can find them in the sticky in this forum.
i just checked the cell pro rom thread and i didnt see anything about a different radio.
You have a Sprint Touch Pro 2. Sprint uses a CDMA radio, NOT a GSM radio. the ONLY roms that you will be able to use are in the Rhodium CDMA subforum. If the first rom didn't load quite right, try a different one. You'll get MUCH more help in the sub-forum dedicated to your device than here. We only know GSM devices here, sorry.
Yup as others say, just flash a CDMA ROM. Your phone is probably just fine...

Hi guys, im new here, and trying to navigate around here is very difficult when you don't know all the technical terms (being a noob sucks).
I have an Unlocked Sprint TP2, that appears to be a CDMA/GSM hybrid. ive been googling for roms but from what i have heard, there is no custom roms avaliable yet for a CDMA/GSM Sprint hybrid and i really dont want to mess up my phone. Its unlocked from America (i live in Australia) and the stock from is fine but i would much prefer a custom rom, though one that it is equally stable and fast. I have heard Mighty's Roms are of the kind im looking for yet i dont know if they're avaliable for my phone specifically.
This is my first time flashing a rom and i need information. To my understanding i believe i require:
1. a softspl to flash the hardspl
2. a hardspl to flash the rom
3. and of course the rom itself.
Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated!
Actually, the CDMA Worldphones (including the Sprint model) have many custom ROMs available. Since XDA-Developers is primarily a GSM forum, not many ROMs exist here. Rather, you should try the more CDMA oriented PPCGeeks. This PPCGeeks subforum contains different ROMs, and the HardSPL unlocker for the Worldphone Rhodium models (RHOD400 & RHOD500).
And all you need to do to install HardSPL is download it from one of the stickies (from the link I provided) and run the file you download while your phone is plugged in, so you don't even need to worry about manually using an SSPL. After you do that, you can simply install any ROM (from the link I provided) by connecting your device to your computer and running the CustomRUU.exe file usually included with ROMs you download (don't use the CustomRUU that comes with the HardSPL package). Alternatively, you can install a ROM by renaming the NBH file to RHODIMG.NBH, putting it on your phone's SD card, and manually entering the booloaded (press [volume down] and power at the same time while the device is powered off).
The "hybrid" CDMA/GSM phones just need a CDMA ROM. Don't flash a GSM ROM, it won't work. But a CDMA ROM will be fine, as Dave has said.
Check out the Rhodium CDMA sub-forum here too.

I didn't know such a thing existed! Will your phone work on GSM networks (like Vodafone UK)? And does it have a 3.5mm earphone jack?
I know it's off-topic would appreciate any reply ... thanks ...

Yes, that's the idea. It has a SIM card slot that you can use when you want to use it on GSM. I have no idea about the jack though.

I have got a HTC Diamond and after trying to run the unlocker on www forum*ppcgeeks*com/showthread.php?t=36062 the program ran and then my phone would not startup. I have tried a few things but at the moment it is just bricked.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP....
Teh thread you mention is for CDMA Diamond, I truely hope you have a CDMA phone and not the GSM version, cuz using this unlocker on a GSM bricks your phone, and i really don't know if there is any way to 'unbrick' it.
you used the gsm bricking tool so now you have a busted phone.
That was silly of you GSM / CDMA variants should be regarded as completely different phones. There was plenty of warning on that page.
Here are my suggestions:
Try and go into bootloader mode. Take out the battery and reinsert, power up while holding down the VolDown button (or the back arrow for CDMA). If you get nothing, then I have to say sorry for your loss.
If you get to the rainbow bootloader screen, you're very lucky. Go to the Diamond (GSM or CDMA -- use the appropriate one) HardSPL thread and install the latest HardSPL. Then try and flash a stock ROM. You can go on from there.
If you manage to get this far, please pay for a legitimate unlock procedure:

Hello Everybody!
I recently ended up with a RHOD400 from Sprint. I use a T-Mobile affiliate. I know these phones have a SIM card slot. The phone is Security Unlocked and I flashed a HardSPL to it. Can this be used on my T-Mobile Afilliate? I realize its a GSM network but I see the SIM slot. Here comes the fun part. I tried flashing 21905_WCX_RHODIUM_TILT2_UPDATED_APPS_TABS and now I'm stuck on the splash screen. Have I bricked this phone or is there still hope for a noob move like this? After doing some reading I found Task29 and used it to clear the storage to try to get a different rom to work. So basically, what I need to know is
A:Is this phone bricked?
B: Can I make this phone work on a GSM carrier?(It is SIM unlocked and CID unlocked I think, but not sure if it still is after Task29 cleared the memory).
C: What ROM would I need to do this?
D: I am familiar with flashing as I have flashed several ROMs with my ATT Tilt. I was pretty sure I did everything correctly, so I'm not sure what happened.
Any help would be lifesaving because I dont want to further screw myself.

It seems that you may have bricked your device. You may be able to prepare a goldcard using QMAT and unbrick it this way.
If you manage to unbrick your device then there is a way to get it working with AT&T or T-Mobile. However, you will get EDGE (2.5G) at best. You can use the method described here or look for the OliPro SIM unlock. Keep in mind that both of these methods cost money. You can then flash it with a proper CDMA ROM like this one.
Note: if it was already HardSPL'd like you said, then you will only have to flash the ROM. If you are not getting service on a GSM carrier, though, you will have to SIM unlock again. Task 29 should not lock the SIM or change the radio, so that should not have had any effect. Also, once you've used Task 29, you will need to flash a new ROM using the RUU. To do this, put your phone into bootloader mode (hold down the volume down key right when the phone starts up)
I wish you the best of luck!
I actually had the OliPro SIM unlock done already, paid the money and am downloading the ENERGY ROM as we speak. Should know in a few if it will work. :CROSSFINGERS:
Ok, now I got the rom flashed over(Yay!), but I still dont know how to get it to work with my sim card. It still reads as Security Unlocked on the bootloader, and ever recognizes my Sim card contacts, but when I make a call it gives me a message saying my account could not be validated. Do I need to do something to get it onto GSM? Or do I just need a new radio? If it is a new radio, will I need GSM or CDMA from now on? And speaking of which, will I need CDMA or GSM roms for this pphone? Sorry about all the questions, I have always used ATT& T-Mobile phones in the past, so this was never an issue.
Ok, very strange. It says I have a voicemail, knows all my SIM contacts, reads my weather automatic, but I still cant make a call. I did another HardSPL, and did the SIM unlock again, went in and changed the phone band to GSM, just to be sure, but it still has a voice message when I try to make a call that says "Your account cannot be validated, please contact customer service". I'm pretty lost at this point so any help would be great. I am glad to know this phone isn't bricked though
You're in the wrong forum. This particular forum is for the GSM Rhodium, you have a CDMA forum (albeit one that can work on GSM networks too). So you need the CDMA version of HardSPL and a CDMA ROM to make it work (if it hung on the splash screen then you flashed the wrong type of ROM).
Folks in the CDMA sub-forum may be able to advise you about getting it to roam on a GSM network. Also try ppcgeeks.com , which tends to have more CDMA users.

I'm actually not stuck on the splash screen anymore. I flash The ENERGY rom over and it worked in the sense that I'm no longer stuck in splash screen. Now I can Get sim contacts, weather. I just cant make calls or send text, Internet ect. I just get a voice message that says "your account cannot be validated"
I'm still not sure
ok, but you're still in the wrong forum though. You're asking questions about a phone with CDMA ROM, and this sub-forum is for GSM ROMs. I suggest going to NRG's thread on ppcgeeks.com, there's a link to that in his thread here.
UPDATE: Finally got it, just needed to search for networks again. I thank everyone for the help.
And will remember the CDMA sub-forum in the future
