Hopefully I've put this in the right section, as I believe the questions sections is for help requests rather than general survey style questions (eg the What are you running on your N5 thread).
Anyway, I'm sure we use our phones for a lot more than calling and texting, so post what you use your device for!
Here's some of the things my phone helps me with:
Reminders (Google keep/now, they should be integrated) - I have horrible memory so these help heaps
Timetable (Google Calendar) - use the lock screen widget so I just swipe to see what classes I have
Homework/tasks (Google keep)
Social networking (Fb, telegram, Instagram, snapchat etc)
Media (YouTube, MX player, Vines, Unis video player, uListen)
Tracking food intake (My fitness pal)
Alarm (Alarmpad)
Taking photos of documents and things on the board (Camscanner - highly recommend)
Syncing all my school work that I do on my home computer in case I forget to sync my school laptop before leaving as cloud storage is blocked (Google Drive/Bittorrent Sync)
Browsing XDA/reddit (Tapatalk/Reddit Sync)
That's all I can think of for now, your turn!

No particular order

goes on the Q/A section, not here. but if you were to ask me, I would say taking phone calls, texting, skyping, playing CPU extensive games such as Real Racing 3, Ravensword 2, GTA SA, etc, listening to music, alarm clock, stopwatch, timer, clock, taking photos/videos, browsing Facebook, 9GAG, XDA Forums, using Chrome, Google Keep, Google Calendar, and most of all, tweaking my phone to the best of my ability to make things look right and just right.

I normally just use mine for the basics...calling, texting, important school email etc. It's also my primary alarm clock. Aside from that, I also use Keep to make sure I know what's due when and when I need to be where, not to mention music and social networking. I guess you could say I don't mess with my phone as much as I did when I had my HTC One. Although the N5 is rooted with a few mods, I try not to get too caught up in the realm of XDA as it does get quite addicting
Always start my day turning off my alarm, stock clock application is fine for me.
I use my phone as a music player A LOT, PowerAmp doesn't seem to work well with this phone for me so I use Google Play Music now.
Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Keep keep me organized. Office Mobile + OneDrive is my choice for office suite and cloud storage.
Most of my reading is on Chrome and Newstand.
Mostly to read news. It is also my alarm clock.
as a phone.
Amost Everything! GPS, Alarm, Banking, NFC, OTG, Browser, Tethering, Email, Texting, Camera, HDMI to TV, Phone, Entertainment, Weather, Calculator, etc.
My phone is my college companion: I often take notes by connecting a Bluetooth keyboard, read PDF documents, write and read emails, manage my cloud documents, and share its 3g connection to my laptop.
Then I use it for text messages (Hangouts, WhatsApp...) and Internet browsing, sometimes as a music player.

Everything it can do. Calls, texts, email. Some games. Web browsing. YouTube, XDA, etc. Use Wallet & NFC to pay for stuff at a couple gas stations and stores in my areas. I use it to record notes (quick record feature on custom ROM). I use it as my alarm clock. I have an app to track my work hours and how much I make per hour. To track my expenses. As a GPS. HDMI mirroring to my TV for Netflix. Social networking. I use it as a camera as well. Pretty much everything it is capable of doing, I use it to do. I love it.
At the same time, writing this list I also realized how dependent I am on my phone. It's gonna get real once SkyNet takes over.
I switch between the N5 and M8 daily, but I mostly use my N5 for modding and tethering

Hi,
For benches, tweaks and kernel tests only...
And sometimes all the rest that a smartphone can do if I have enough battery life after 01H10 of total use of Antutu and Quadrant and after about 10 reboots a day due to some tests...
It's a Nexus device after all...
Calling family, texting family and friends, music, YouTube, browsing forums via Tapatalk, general web browsing and retrieving information from the internet when I am out.
I play around with the camera too and use the camera to capture anything and everything.

MUSIC.
I have it all day right next to me hocked up to my stereo via Bluetooth. I just love how easy it is to hear music all the time. And even if I'm not a home, I'm using my Klipsch S4 for that.
And of course for WhatsApp, XDA and for taking photos with the lovely camera. I love playing around with it (trying out new Roms, kernels and apps), tweaking it to my needs. I love my phone.

I cannot think of what I DON'T do with my N5, other than the usual calling , texting , social networking , gaming , scheduling , music and video streaming etc etc I do a lot of reboots.

With 4GB of ram it still can't keeps apps open in the background.
I do not have the issues that video illustrates. I can run Chrome, Fallout Shelter, Poweramp, Play Store, Trillian, Amazon App Store, 1Weather, Google Plus, Whisper, Gmail, Battery Widget Reborn, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Z Launcher, the stock launcher, a number of settings windows, and plenty more, and not have any of them need to reload when switching between them (which is good, because Fallout Shelter is up to 500megs of RAM usage...). With all of that running, I still have 1.1gigs of free RAM (333megs inn reality, as 800ish megs of that 1.1gigs is for cached processes).

That's good to know. I will have to do my own testing it seems. What carrier do you have?

VZW.
I did end up having to reload Fallout Shelter this afternoon, but, that was after running the above stated apps nonstop all day long. Not sure if it auto-purges apps after a certain amount of time, or what.
