Hello everyone ,
I have an 8GB on Vodafone UK with the following:
PDA: I9000BUJM4
PHONE: I9000BUJM3
CSC: I9000GVODJM3
(It came with a slightly earlier version but I upgraded it in Kies today, the below is also true of the earlier version)
I can't get any of the one-click root apps to work!
I boot into recovery mode and it starts to flash the update.zip, gets to about 5% reboots and the phone still isn't rooted.
I've also tried this:

The MyTouch 3G was much easier than this!!
Basically I just want root to install the LagFix, and remove the carrier apps -
I'm going to wait for the official 2.2 release.
Also is there a list of offical firmware versions and a changelog anywhere?

install WinXP in VMware and then connect the phone to your PC and pass through the USB to the VMware WinXP machine

I've downloaded the latest version of KIES available on the Samsung Site.
Problem is i can't install it. When i try, i get the error
The installation source for this product is not available. Check if the source exists and/or you have access to it.
I never had this problem with older versions.
Somebody has a clue ?

You need internet access. If you don't have it then use your phone as modem with teethering mode. Kids needs to check latest version thats all

i downloaded Kies 3.0 beta and it does indeed find the device just fine. but just like i used to be able to do with all my devices. initialize then download firmware and restore. but it seems we cant do this with the note 3 at least with the AT&T variant . any one have any luck with this?

I thought I might be able to help seeing as how I found B139 on the firmware finder tool. It does not seem to DL though so I'm afraid I cant.
When I get back to WiFi I might be able to DL B138 from my device from the update setting page.
I downloaded Version WW-16.0631.1910.64 and when I try to install it manually, the phone says update failed. Current firmware on the phone is WW_16.0622.1906.19_0. Any help is appreciated.
So i read a bit more and it seems I have a Tencent version that someone flashed a WW to. So whats the work around?
