[Q][SOLVED] Weak Custom Vibrate on handcent - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

--EDIT--
After messing around in options.. I found a work around:
by going to Settings -- sound and display -- I enable haptic feedback (something i leave disabled) and when vibration intensity below it is able to be chosen.. i put it to max. I then disable haptic feedback again and magically, vibrations in handcent are stronger!
---END EDIT--
I'm currently using handcent as my default messaging application.
I noticed that when I have the vibration set to the default type of vibration, the vibration is quite strong.
When I customize it to something else (whether it's preset on handcent or i make a custom vibrate) the vibration is 10x weaker than the default..
Is there anyway to make it vibrate stronger?

[Q] I9000M: Vibration Lengths

Has anyone else notice how long the phone vibrates for during notifications?
Does anyone know if theres a way to change the length of the vibration to something shorter?
its in the settings menu.

Click to collapse
you mean the setting that grays out when you disable haptic feedback?
Bump. I found an app, Smart Vibrate. Let's you choose the pattern of vibration for SMS, but it does so right before the default vibration, and its not very good, anyone know of better ways to control the vibration intensity for the Vibrant?

[Q] How to globally decrease vibration intensity

Does anyone know how to globally/universally decrease notification vibration intensity?
I know there is the trick: you can turn down the haptic feedback's vibration intensity in settings. This trick only works for third party apps AFAIK; Gtalk and the Messaging app still vibrates violently.
Does anyone know of an app/method that can controle/fine tune the vibration intensity globally?

Haptic feedback...

I hate haptic feedback. Anyone know why I cannot turn it off? The box is selected and grayed out like it is not changeable. I did edit the settings for the vibration and set it to minimal but it still goes off like nuts...

Turn on / notifications vibration

Ehi guys!
i'm trying to switch off vibration on notifications (i don't mind about calls) based on condition, because i really can't stand my phone vibrating while laying in my table at work.
I've tried 2 solution, activate vibration only while in my pocket or while connected to certain wifi.. i have no problem with the triggers but i'm not able to actually toggle off and on the vibration..
i've tried both this script https://forum.xda-developers.com/u/t...asker-t3345309 or the tasker plugin "sound mode" but they both toggle do not disturb mode, not the vibration..
i just want to:
1. vibration off + volume on while on the table
2. vibration on + volume on while on my pocket
Any help?
Thanks!!
I don't think this is possible with Tasker. My guess is, you will have to disable vibration on a system level - driver for example.
Thanks a lot for your reply! Can you be a bit more specific on your solution? I'm not sure I get it
I think it is only possible if you can find the driver file for vibration and make change there.
Some applications, like Viber, vibrate furiously in all situations and users have little control over it. My solution is Xposed and GravityBox, both of which are mostly not tasker-able.
Actually I've noticed that if I block a notification in AutoNotification, then recreate it in Tasker, the vibration doesn't go off. If you don't want to block the app's notifications on a system level, it's a good workaround.
You can also just turn vibration system wide with the Vibrate action (should be in Audio).
thanks guys, i'll give it a try

Turn off vibration in Android 11 on Samsung A30?

Hello everyone.
Question: Is there the option to completely disable vibration in Android 11 on A30?(Yeap, I still haven't upgraded to Android 11. Don't see a particular reason, and I really hate the current style of OneUI.)
But.
As of late, the vibration is REALLY PISSING me off. Notifications vibration especially.
In the settings I can choose only between "Sound (and vibration)" - "Vibrate" - "Mute (all)"
But I don't want to mute the sounds, only the vibration.
There is the setting to disable the vibration for phone calls, but it works only with standard calls.
All messenger applications are ignoring it.
Do not disturb mode is ignored too!
There is no option to disable it in per-app settings either.
And no options under Accessibility menu (like Vibration and Haptic Strength) either.
If it's possible in Android 11, then I'll upgrade just for the sake of this option.
Otherwise, I'm gonna literally rip the motor off.
