Ok. I got mine in the afternoon...from Expansys am sorry to say (price and all).
So far I installed:
Destinator 7 - works if you copy the whole directory in the Interna Storage (It wont recognise the maps if you leave it in the Device memory)
TomTom 6.03 works
Pocket navigator Cyprus - Doesnt work
PPC Toolman - works and therefore I will dare to install IGO8 tomorrow and see if it works.
SlingPlayer for PPC works just fine.
Visual IT Tube2 works fine.
I have the Tytn II and the transition is a bit difficult but I am getting there.
Will let you know more as I intall more programs
Seeing as you bought one from Expansys, could you check to see how much ram it comes with??. Someone over at their forums said his came with 128mb of ram when production/retail units should have 192mb of ram. Also a member here has asked in one of the threads so would be helpful if you could clear that up for us.

It comes with 192 MB . No cd for a GPS software.
Update: Igo8 doesnt work even if I change the SYS.txt line from Storagecard to Internal Storage as suggested in other forums.
Any help would be appreciated

You can use Total Commander for ppc or PHM regeditor (http://www.phm.lu/products/PocketPC/RegEdit/).
I read in some reviews that the device is somewhat "Sluggish"can you give us some details on the general behavior and responses in general
Hi Athosk, you say slingplayer works fine. It is very smooth or jerky but watchable? I have experienced it on the HTC universal, Tytn II and Advantage so far and have to say the performance of it on those phones is in that order i.e. universal is the best one out of the three (but still not brilliant). If you could post the frames per second you are getting on the diamond that will be great.

No, Slingplayer works fine. You can only see a very very thin line of colours but that is not something that would bother u.also in landscape mode u don't see anything so it's ok

Thanks for your response. If i install another rom, will i lose all my existing settings/programs/ and contacts?
And also where can I get other roms from? (Sorry to sound stupid, but just like to be double sure).
Thanks in advance!!1
Also no RPD build-in for me!!
Just install thisone, work perfect
Okay I have this installed on my diamond and have a few questions.
Im remoting onto a vista laptop, Im connecting okay.. however no matter what I set in the remote desktop mobile options, I cannot see any mapping for my handheld device to transfer files. Ive tried My Computer, Ive tried Network.. nothing. Why? Any advice?
Secondly, the pocketnow video demonstrating remote desktop mobile being run on the diamond in landscape mode. I see no option for this.. how can it be done?
Thirdly, if you run remote desktop mobile in full screen you seem to lose access to the disconnect button and SIP. Any suggestions?
The CAB file works great for me, but it's not possible to access the telephone's memory through the explorer on the remote machine, like described here: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=5454
So it's not possible to get music from home for example... Does anyone know, why? Of course it's possible to put the requested files into a apache-folder and download it using opera, but thats not the best way.
I didn't see the message from "darthbane2k", but my questions are the same
I'm guessing the CAB file on the previous page is an older version with less features. Parhaps one from WM6, not WM6.1?
+1 for someone who would like the cab file for the latest-and-greatest Remote Desktop client for WM6.1
..am currently looking at two Diamonds (my now TLR2-based test unit and my 1.37.401.3-based stock production unit) and neither have it installed, however I do vaguely remember seeing it a while back on he test unit which originally was a HK import and thus old ROM. Guessing now removed (in some markets at least)?
Cheers.
Nope.. I definately have the new version as the allow device mapping is in the options. Even when ticked, I still cannot see my mapped device when connecting to a remote computer (Vista home premium)
It works fine on my diamond, both within the LAN as well as per 3G. However is there a possibility to get keyboard to be able to enter things as well?

Yup, it's plain WM6, not 6.1.
WM6.1 RDP
It did not work for me either.
So I started a petition on this blog http://max.zamorsky.name/2008/11/04...bile-into-touch-diamond-and-all-current-roms/ to collect comments as a means to persuade HTC and Microsoft to include RDP in every ROM by default.
They seem to misunderstand who their lead-users are...
Please comment to help me make our lives easier.
Is there anyone who can help me to use my HTC diamond as a web cam through bluetooth or wi-fi or usb?
It will be highly appreciated.

sorry, posted it on the move (while walking out with friends), from a Tablet PC, using text recognition and a non-unlimited Internet connection - couldn't look up the URL's.
(I post quite a lot while on the move from either my Tablet PC or my Blackberry)
Thank you for the articles. I have a feeling however that none of the applications presented work on Vista...

Webcamera Plus will work - at least the camera part, not the mike, under the x64 version. (see http://www.ateksoft.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1412 ). Not that you'd lose much with the absence of sound (it's pretty low-quality - see my remarks in the article) - as long as your notebook / desktop doesn't have a mike, that is.
Thank you, I'll try it.
EDIT: Tried - can't get it to work on Vista 32. Programs runs but won't connect to the phone camera. Oh well...
Hi !
I just bought WebCameraPlus (15 euros).
Unfortunately, even though when installing on my PC I am asked if I also want to install it on my smartphone (I have an HTC TOUCH DIAMOND), the software only ends up being installed on the PC, NOT on the smartphone.
Any help will be heartily appreciated, thanks in advance !
go in c:/program files/WebCam plus/ you will find the cab to install in your phone
WebCamera Plus seems interesting, but your friend also has to use WebCamera Plus to see you!. i though you could video chat with your phone front cam with your friend that is using official MSN,yahoo or ichat

HTC Trinity USBToPC
Hi everyone...!!!
I'm looking for a .CAB file, which can transform the SD memory on my Trinity onto a USB-KEY device, this will help on the transfer rate of big files....
Any Idea or Advice???
Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

Hi I already have a 8gb microSD ive been using with music n such and did not want to buy a turnbyturn GPS software that makes me purchase another card - is there such a program that is decent out there?
thx
tomtom is very nice. You dont "need"a specific card to run it.

Neither TT nor Garmin are free. TT no longer supports phones and I think Garmin is tied to the card they sell you. iGuidance is now going to be tied to a card.
I have TT 6, two years old, running as well as iG 4, one year old.

u sure you can put those on your own sd card?
Copilot. (sold by alk). Definitely doesn't tie you to a card (and you can transfer between devices)
Try the forums at pocketgpsworld.com for further advice (they have a whole section dedicated to software for PDAs).
I second iGo8. I've never had it crash on me.
Hmmm.
iGo8 was replaced with OCN8 and is very very stable.... aside from my TP dropping GPS every once in a while.
I run Destinator on my own 8GB SD-card.

What actions are you performing when it crashes on you? what version are you using? How does your sys.txt look like? I've attached mine..backup your sys.txt and copy mine over to the sd card and to window/programs/igo8 folder in the main memory of your phone...it's a basic .txt file, enabling popup street names, scrolling street names, enables phone poi dial, etc, etc...
hope it helps...also, try using it with this skin (create a 'skin' folder under storage card/igo8/content) and place file into it...open up igo8 program and select the skin, and restart...I like it because it uses the whole screen and is very customizable.
regards.
EDIT: This skin is only usable for igo8.3.x....
Just driving along using it and it will just reset.
Thank you very much for your help and files. I will give it a go.
Just driving? How much free mem does that ROM give you? I'm using the super awesome latest NATF ROM...I love that man...it's a wonder how he manages to work, raise a family, attend Philly games and still pull things like this out.
