No the market has the updated version that has a static dial out number so the free calls "hack" is useless unless you have the older version of Google voice. I have seen it available on one of the android news sites but i can't find it anymore. If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated

If you have not tried the market fix yet try it. Go to the market and look for eris market fix, it make take some time after you do it but it should start working. Then you can have all your apps back, if this does not work for you send me a pm and i will get them for you.
this will help you find if you have full market or not, To test: search for 'us bank' in the market, if only 2 apps show up, your not getting the full market.

Aloysius is a Hero based ROM and should be reporting you as a Sprint user to the Market. You can't find those apps because Verizon doesn't offer them to non-Verizon customers.
That said; jcase's Market Fix should cause you to be reported as a MotoDroid, a Verizon phone, which should allow you to get those apps.

I had created updates for two of these apps. They're flashable through Recovery;
Verizon Visual Voicemail
My Verizon
I made them for ZenEXP-Eris users who couldn't see Verizon apps. However, I've fixed the market since then and now they can see the Verizon tab and all Verizon apps.
Anyone who needs these two apps installed is more than welcome to download them above.

I came from the tp2 and skype is one the apps I used a lot. I went to the market and I couldn't find it, then went to skype site to download it and they don't support this phone yet.
Have someone found a way to get skype?

Give it time 2-3 months or maybe one more beta, it is still in pretty deep beta. But no doubt the Epic will get priority because it is designed for specifically that. I would search the Skype forums.
Nevermind. I had a brainfart. I think you might find it in evo, same section as this.

Right now there's no real way to use Skype with an official client on the Epic without a lot of work, but you can use Skype through Nimbuzz, which is free on the market.
IM+ worked perfectly on my blackberry the last 4yrs and they have a droid client free & paid. But, it doesnt appear to connect to Skype since I have been trying it.
Besides, the droid is a rough beta compared to the look, feel and behavior of the rim version....
I believe the Verizon exclusive partnership with Skype is holding things up at this point.
Is there any stable Skype chat 3rd party client out there, i can wait for video chat by stressing Qik...

Has anyone here got Google Talk to perform video chat on the phone?
We could only get video and no sound between two laptops yesterday with GT.
IMO.im allows skype texting functionality.
Skype works... google skype lite beta 1.0.0.5... verizon paid for exclusivity is all. Bu the old beta build still works on all phones =)
Thanks I just install it but man that version is horrible I can't even call my contacts nor use my skype credit, hopefully skype will hurry up and get it back to work on all androids.

I was looking for something in the app market and happened to run across this. Looks like a new update for Youtube. Seems like a little smoother interface and bit more finger friendly. Just figured I'd share!

The native app. I didnt get a notification for it either but it's def a different verision then what I had before. Try searching for it in the market.

I'm running Cog Beta 5.5. Which is 2.2.
But, it looks like it is completely separate than the YouTube app which comes pre installed on the captivate. Just downloaded, and so far I like it.

It definitely does let you edit the safe-search controls. First thing I did was turn them off
still cant watch a lot of music videos (thanks to VEVO) and a bunch of popular videos (worst dj ever) are still not viewable or searchable.
Have to use the regular Youtube site and use flash for those videos.
It clearly states on the AppBrain page that it is for 2.2 and up, so no dice for us Eclair users.

yeah,i downloaded this yesterday and i really like this version- the interface looks much better dark and i like that i have access to my channel when away from my computer...found out about the new youtube app through android central-no notification was sent to me since the captivate doesn't officially have 2.2?(i have the leaked 2.2 )

Really liking the new update. Again this is for 2.2 only, it didn't show up as an update to my current youtube app, but it did replace it once I downloaded and installed it.
Hopefully Google continues to add more and more of the stock apps to the market... one way to combat the horrors of Sense, TouchWiz, etc.

In some countries people cannot find Skype on the Market. I'm not 100% sure but there are probably limitations... Anyway, it is easy to workaround them using MarketEnabler.

Hello Everyone
I was hoping someone could help me. I saw a facebook feature on my mothers phone that I'd like on my own.
After a LOT of googling and searching around i've found out that the name of the feature i'm looking for is "Ongoing Notifications".
If i'm not mistaking, this is something that was released in a version of Facebook that was only available on the market for a short amount of time before they suddenly removed it again. Ironically, my mother (that pretty much NEVER update her apps) managed to get that update within the short timespan it was out. I live nowhere near her, and therefor i'm not able to backup the app from her phone and just install that on my own.
I THINK it was either version 3.6.1 or 5.6.1 (pretty sure it was the latter), but searching around I find no evidence of 5.6.1 being a valid version number.
Does anyone have the version of facebook i'm looking for installed on their phone, and would be so kind as to back it up and upload it somewhere? I would be eternally grateful, cuz this is annoying the crap out of me :cyclops:

Edit: In case people don't necessarily realize what the feature actually does, i'd like to update this a little.
"Ongoing Notifications" adds a facebook bar in the phones notification center (dropdown menu), and an icon in the top left corner. It displays the same as your standard browser notification bar does, when logged in.
