anyone know how to change the text of the widget on the homescreen?
I figured it would be in white_text.xml and grey_text.xml but i changed what i thought would correspond to the text colour (from the preceeding code), hell i then changed every bloody FFFFFF in there one at a time for no change. I have managed to change the text inside the widget when you open it up by changing new_white_text.xml and news_grey_test.xml
Any ideas? Maybe a smali edit? Had a quick look thru smali files but couldn't really find anything to change this colour (i am very new to smali stuff).
If you have been able to change it can you let me know the line number maybe?
thanks
Hi, I did this a while back so I forgot what value I changed, but here is the file I changed in Metamorph. You can maybe do a comparison to see what's changed.
It also has the background for Moonsspoon's gchrome, however the theme file isn't included. (So don't use it as-is)
Hope this helps
Thanks heaps mate. I will try it out later and see how I go.
I'm trying to replace the 3g and reception bars icons in the taskbar but I can't seem to locate the .pngs in framework-res.apk. I thought they were in the drawable-hdpi-v4 folder but no dice. Can someone point me to where they are? I can change them myself once I find them. If anyone's interested, it's a VaelPak 2.3 framework-res with MattedBlues icons replacing most of those in the framework-res, I'll upload it when done. Thanks.
Look in drawable-mdpi, the names should be something like stat_sys_data

The taskbar icons are in the drawable-hdpi-v4 on my ROM, which I'm pretty sure is the same as the mdpi folder. I saw the 3G icons (not the reception bar ones) but when I replaced them then pushed the new framework-res, they don't change. I'm using ClockWorkMod Recovery so I can mount the system partition and push the file but it has an issue with clearing dalvik. Could this be the problem? Also, do I have to replace the Gmail icon in the gmail.apk? That is still the old style also. Thanks for the help.
I found what I was looking for: the icons are in the com.htc.resources.apk in /system/res folder. Switched 'em out, all good. The taskbar isn't finished 'cause I gotta get into some individual app .apk but when I'm finished doing that and probably making a whole theme, I'm gonna post it on VaelPak forum: http://vaelek.com/. Thanks.
my cousin decided to edit his sprites/images for 'minecraft', most of these ingame images use transparency so once he had edited them (poorly.lol) they were not transparent :/
he asked me how to do it properly, which i dont know but i know people who do i figured its something i would like to learn and also use what iv learnt with rom themes...etc
how would i edit images and make the background appear transparent? (.png)
thanks!

found this, ill try it tomorrow..
I'm in the process of making a theme but I have come across an issue I just can't seem to resolve. Basically everything goes fine for my theme except the icons. I downloaded another theme and applied it and the icons in my app drawer change. Yet I don't see where these changed took place in the actual apk when I decompile it. The only changed icon is the com_browser_ic_launcher icon and nothing else. Yet this is the icon that is changed in the app drawer which doesn't make sense because I don't see any related changed in any xml files.
I've been following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964391
I downloaded the templatebread theme and have been changing what I wanted but now I am stuck on the icons. I can change the launcher icons without any hiccups now I just need to find out how to change the actual icon thats in the app drawer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well obviously its done with xml and its all based on the process names the process names have to be exact. When they are it will work even if you have one error in the process names eclipse will throw an error or should and they wont work... I've never done it but i've read alot about it.
That's what I figured but for some reason after doing a few restarts the icons now appear as they should. I guess that the old icons were cached or something.
Recently I tried out a statusbar mod. I changed the clocks colour from blue to grey by adding a line to SystemUI.apk . My battery mod is done with the app being promoted on the front page today.
My problem in this regard is related to my notificationdrawers appearance. As you can see there is a strange grey line which is not supposed to be there. Does anyone know how this could have happened. I'm very sure I recompiled SystemUI.apk correctly.
please help me. :/
