Hello,
Suddenly I have a problem with YouTube video playback. The videos start streaming ok, but the appear small (not fullscreen) and very low quality. It used to work fine. The locally recorded videos play nice even in 720p. The problem is with the streaming video player.
I installed the LagFix (which works miracles) at somepoint earlier. Do you think that this could cause this problem? Any one else has seen it?
Thanks,
Michael

Hello,
I have already seen on the forum that many people complained about the audio and
video sync problem. I have tried Docs and Darkys ROMs but no chance. There is
always a 0.5 sec difference between sound and video. Tried different players.
Could someone please confirm that this is a widespread issue with Froyo 2.2 or
Is it just a faulty device problem ? I would love to find an answer to this question.
Or even is there anyone playing avi files or youtube videos without any sync issue ?
Thanks.
(Also seen this problem in HTC forums thats why i suspect that the issue is related
to the OS.)
I would guess that its more like faulty or incompatible video file formats .
That is the general reason why many phones have difficulty with some videos .
The only way to test is to take a file from a clean source and of the required format that your phone is supposed to play .
Or even is there anyone playing avi files or youtube videos without any sync issue
Answer = yes the vast majority are .
Just checked Stream from Youtube perfect sound .
Streaming is a function of your internet connection .
Playback saved HD Nasa video clip again perfect .

Well, recorded few videos with my phone to check sound sync. Turns out the files
play completely in sync on my computer but they are out of sync by 0.5 sec when
I play them on my phone. Have seen many ppl in various forums with this issue but
was not able to find a solution bah
works well previously on 2.1 but not on 2.2....
HD MKV plays fine over BlueTooth or via speaker, same with recorded videos or anything video.
Have you tried just rebooting the device and having nothing running in the background?
I tried everything from flashing 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1 to hard reseting. Nothing works.
Even youtube videos are not in sync. There is a delay of 400ms between sound
and video.
As its not a widespread issue it suggest something wrong with your phone .
Hardware you would need to go back to the seller/service centre .
You could try going back to Eclair problem still then its hardware wiping all data a formatting phone and having no apps on to test .
Test file download a video from

I just picked up a Nook and rooted it immediately so I could watch video on it. Right now I am just running Stock 1.1. I have some video files in .AVI format that I want to watch on it, but while the video is pretty smooth, the sound is totally out of sync by 1-3 seconds it seems.
I have tried RockPlayer which trashes the video and still has the sync issue. Using Software decode mode as the Hardware mode doesn't work.
Vitalplayer's video (again software) is virtually perfect, but the audio is still out of sync.
Mvideoplayer doesn't work at all, probably due to no codecs being installed on the device.
So my question is this: Is there a way to fix it? Reading through ROM threads it seems that none of them really have video playing nailed down. CM7 says to use Rockplayer as a workaround (uses FFMpeg), but if it doesn't even work on stock, what are the chances it will work in that?
Any ideas?
Thanks
I have the same problem.
I haven't tried this on 1.1, but on 1.0.1 I ran the videos through Handbrake using some of the settings suggested in the thread below and that seemed to help.

Was hoping that performance with Rockplayer would be good enough to not have to do that. I have the settings for HB and will try them tonight.
Now if CM7 could just get DSP and codecs this might be a non-issue.

I use Handbrake and use the ipod touch setting. It works great - sound is in sync with video. NC 1.1 rooted with Auto-nooter 3.0.0
Thanks for the help everyone. Using the Handbrake settings that I was pointed at was the perfect solution. Ran a Fringe episode through and watched it on the train this morning.
Everything perfectly in sync.
Thanks again.
Alternative Approach
I am using a dual boot. The standard video player on the NookColor works very well.
Hello,
I would like to be able to play HD 720p movies on my SGN over wifi network, but even though I'm using the "n" standard I only get "signal to weak" message (even standing near my router). Standard 480p videos play ok. The strange thing is that I'm able to play 720p videos from SGN on my computer (even though they are not fluid - but maybe it's codec thing...)
Anyone could recommend something or had similar experience with hd videos?
Thanks
720p and 1080p works fine here. What's your network speed?
are you talking about dlna? ive tried streaming 720p videos to a LG tv. Lags at the start for like 10 sec but then its just normal. works great imo =)

You're talking about playing video on SGN or on TV? My laptop connects to router at 280-300Mb/s and SGN gets max 65Mb/s.

Wow LAN mode on this app really kicks ass! I was able to play 720p and even 1080p over wifi without any problem! And it's so easy to setup too I wonder why Allshare doesn't work this way Thanks for the tip man!
Good morning all,
I have one annoying problem.
Consider following scenario:
I open through LAN Mode or ES File Explorer a .mkv file direct from my home machine. This is done over WiFi Dongle. In other words - i stream video from my local machine over to my Samsung Galaxy Note. What is happening is that after a few minutes the picture and the sound freezes. I have to close BS Player, close ES File Explorer and open the video again. This is happening with all kind of videos. Even 1080p are played butter smooth but it freezes every 4-5-6 minutes.
I've tested with a laptop - no such problem.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I'm using BS Player Lite.

It looks to me that your wifi dongle can't maintain stable signal. Try searching for new drivers for it.

That is the problem with the cache I guess, either ES or BS are not able to handle the huge memory size of 720/1080P. Try MX Player.

Thank you for the recommendation. This program works great, subtitles and all.
hi guys I have the similar problem but with my sgs2 and my smart tv... when I try to stream HD videos on tv from sgs2 thru allshare ,only the couple of seconds are going smooth but then video freezes and then starts again and again freezes,etc.. is there any chance to stream HD videos from phone to tv as they are doing it on the commercials? thanks and sorry for jumping in so late
Just got the HTC One today and so far everything has been going well with the exception of video streaming. Whether it be from YouTube or Netflix, I can't seem to buffer my videos up to a HQ/HD quality. I compared this with an iPhone 5 at the same time and that played videos perfectly.
Anyone know what the problem could be or if there are any settings I can tinker with?
