[Q] Custom Kernel - Legend Android Development

Hello guys,
I been searching around and found that there is no custom kernel for Legend. Found a thread with lots of kernels for Slide. I was wondering, is it compatible to flash those kernel with Legend? Here is the thread :

By the way I'm using Azure. Hope to hear from anyone soon.
Cheers guys.

Sure there are some. Did you check:

...these are for 2.1. For 2.2 whic you use, there are several already compiled on kyosa's GitHub. You can also build it yourself:

...with kyosa's config from his GitHub.

Now that I have EBI1..

Just curious as to what other roms, other than Cyanogen work on the EBI1 kernel. As much as I love Cyanogen, I like to have options
Open eclair (all)
Wes garner (all)
super d 1.7
Cyanogen (all)
Kernals can be made for any rom but I lack the know how. One person whom I know does make the above kernals is brian crook. You cann google his name to find his website briancrook.ca or .com can't remember.
I am not sure if others make kernals as well. Also a cyanogen kernal is not simply compatible for all cyanoen, each rom release needs its own kernal I believe.
Lookie here: http://briancrook.ca/magic/
EBI1 ports only exist for roms that have the sources available. Only a few of them have that. You can ask for one to be built for you, or do it yourself. It is pretty easy.

[Q] Mod Kernel for Original ROM Froyo (FRG83G)

Hi all guys,
I have the original ROM Froyo FRG83G and now I don't want to change it.
But what is the recommended kernel to improve performance with the original Froyo ROM (in this case FRG83G)? (eg overclocking RAM to 512, etc.)
My radio is 5.12.00.08
Thank you very much for your help....
Guys, I would just like some advice as there are a lot of kernel to chose.
I'm reading a lot on the forum to make the right choice, without making mistakes. I would just like to be sure.
Any advice? Please ...
You can try the ones that are made for Froyo custom ROMs. I believe they can work on stock ROMs, at least some of them.
Your best bet would do a nandroid backup, download a couple of them, and test them.
As far as I've seen most Kernels work with most ROMs the dev specifically states that the ROM is Kernel dependant or only works with certain versions of Android/requires newer radio. Simply check what each ROM/Kernel requires and make sure you meet or exceed these requirements (Radio version is a typical requirement).
Try this Kernel first:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=820172
It is for stock ROMs with stock cameras (non 720P) based on AOSP code. It is a gingerbread ROM but is backwards compatible with Froyo.
This is also a good kernel with support for stock camera
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=693375
here is the direct link for what you want:
http://wildmonks.whoisthedrizzle.com/kernel/2.6.35/010411/No_720p_Stock_Froyo/
You can read about the different options, but I usually go with the SVS and CFS options. If you don't want the audio boost feature (I think you do) check that subfolder.
Also, Pershoot and Intersect Raven make great kernels (search the dev forum or hit the first sticky called [ROMs] - [Kernels] - [Radios] - Etc). But Pershoot usually does cyanogen mod kernels and IR does a lot of CM stuff too (although he as stock-compatible kernels I've never personally tried them; shame on me).
Remember to NANDROID first!!
thanks...
Ok ... thanks all for your help ... I'll try to follow your advice ..
Thanks again!

[Q] KMA kernel with WiiMote support

Today I was trying to get an USB gamepad working (with no luck so far) but in my search I came across this CM change: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/63293/. Which would allow me to use my beloved WiiMote again, after it stopped working in android 4.3+. However in the comments of that commit it mentions that it requires kernel support.
Since I don't have the required hardware available atm to build it myself and don't have the required number of posts yet to ask in the KMA kernel thread itself I'm asking here:
Is anyone willing and able to compile a custom KMA kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/orig-development/kma-cm-11-101-sony-kernel-blobs-t2708325) with the above needed kernel configs enabled?
(Or at least reference my request/thread in the KMA thread, so if/when Thomas has the time and willingness he might be able to do it, so it becomes available for all his kernel users)
For reference:
The XDA thread for the Carbon rom is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/rom-carbon-rom-kk-unofficial-built-t2727592
An assumption I made is that the rom syncs with the CM11 CyanogenMod/android_external_bluetooth_bluedroid repository. If there is some way I can check this, please enlighten me where to look.
The needed kernel configs are: CONFIG_HIDRAW=y and CONFIG_HID_WIIMOTE=y.
I am basing my assumption that they are not enabled on the following:
For the KMA kernel:
https://github.com/daeiron/android_...b/cm-11.0-new/arch/arm/configs/yuga_defconfig
For the default kernel of my rom:
https://github.com/Alx31/android_ke....0/arch/arm/configs/cm_fusion3_yuga_defconfig

[HELP] Custom TC's (Uber, Sabermod, etc)

Hey fellas,
Currently I have CM13 compiled from source and its up and running for trltetmo (love it). I am just trying to see how other people are compiling toolchains and making them work. I have spent way too much time banging my head against the wall trying to get things running but I'm stuck using outdated sources and very buggy code...
Curious if:
- People have experience using SM and how they are updating it from source (osl from their manifest is non existent). Currently I can only find an outdated precompiled zip for SM found here.
- People have any experience using UBER and where is their source directory to pull updated code.
Currently I have several things where they need to be and if I can get some help applying a custom TC I may start to release optimized, minimalist, true (not jimmy rigged vzw files) CM13 zips.
NOTE: if it weren't for @fattire, @ZION959, @BotsOne none of this would be possible.

Android overclocking and kernel customization.

Hello! I've taken an interest in kernel and rom development, so I'd appreciate it if someone could give me tips and/or link/write tutorials that explains things about kernel modification (overclocking, bug fixing etc), custom rom making (how to add features, bug fixing etc).
Also is it possible to update/make a newer kernel from the source, like source is available for 4.5, would it be possible to update it to 4.6?
Any help/tip/tutorial is appreciated.
Ps: I don't know if this thread belongs here, as I'm new here.
Thanks, .
