Please help!!!!! - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi i'm running CM6 on my nexus one for quite a while now and everything was working fine until today, for some reason i can't install or uninstall apps anymore, this means that when i try installing from the market, the app downloads, but it's gonna say "installing..." forever... at first i thought it was a market related issue, but even when i tried installing an app from an external source via the package installer, the same problem remained. When i try uninstalling, it gives me a black screen with the grey status bar loading, but it wont uninstall :Si have no idea how this happened or how i can fix it, i tried wiping everything and reflashing the rom, but no luck is there a way to fix this? thanks

Go to "Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications (click the all tab) -> Click "Market -> Clear Data"
and try installing from the market again.
I dunno about your other problem.. but that fixed my installing forever problem

I hate to 'me too' but I have the same problem. I'm trying to reinstall the Facebook App. I can't find it in my backups but the Market tells me I have, it so I can't install or uninstall it!!
Help me Obi One Kanobi!
What all of you have to do is wipe your ext's. Then re-download the apps.
To avoid this from happening in the future (let's say you switch roms) ...or whatever....
Set up the phone as you normally would (signing in and all that), go to settings > applications > manage applications > CHECK THE BOX THAT SAYS "UNKNOWN SOURCES". This way you're guaranteed to have ALL your apps. Paid and free.
Then and only then do you go to the marketplace > downloads and check your apps. They'll be there.
And if you do have to download any of the apps again, make sure you don't leave the the "download screen", because if you do you'll lose "record" of the apps you had downloaded and will have to re-download them again.

Use any option it gives you to uninstall the app, then reinstall it.
Similar issue.
I am having a similar issue.
I installed Toggle Settings (Donut) on my G1 (CM 4.2.5 I'm not using apps2SD) and then decided to uninstall it. Now when I go to the market and my downloads it shows that I have Toggle settings installed. The problem is that I don't and it gives me no options to do anything (open and uninstall are grayed out). Other apps install and uninstall normally with the market updating their status correctly. I don't know what to do to correct this. If you know how to remedy this, please help me.
I apologize if this is an inappropriate place to post this but I serched and this was the closest topic to my problem that I found.
Try finding it in the app-private folder or if its in any of yours apps as a .zip file. If so, back it up and delete it from the phone. see if that resolves the issue. if not try deleting the market cache

Thanks for replying... It's not in any of my other apps and I've tried deleting the market cache (and deleting the market cache and power cycling the phone) and that isn't working. Where is (or should be) the app-private folder? I'm not finding that folder.
I'm starting to feel like my only hope is an update being put out for the app and then hopefully I can download that and go from there.

app-private should be in the same folder as app
Had a similar problem
I wiped my phone and did a frech Cyan 4.2.5 install to help clear a problem with Gmail. I used backup for root users to get all my apps back, but it left a couple out - leaving me in the same situation you guys are in - can't install/uninstall from the market as the buttons are greyed out, but it's not actually on your phone.
i eventually stumbled over a solution of sorts when i reverted back to a themeless 4.2.5 - for me flashing the update again sorted out my market data and allowed me to install the missing apps again. either that, or go into a nandroided backup, extract the apks and manually push them to your current setup - buttons are magically no longer greyed out.
Thanks guys.
Thanks for your guys assistance.
I found another solution that worked. I had one of my coworkers download Astro File browser and then the Toggle settings app. I just backed up his toggle settings with the built in apps manager in Astro and then put his memory card in my phone and restored toggle settings with Astro. Then I went to the market and uninstalled toggle settings through the market and bingo no more ghost of Toggle settings problem. Thanks again for your assistance.

Can't open / update / uninstall Shopper

Hi,
I recently Installed the latest Cyanogen rom on my N1, and moved the apps to the SD card. I don't know what I may have done wrong, but now I can't open Shopper. I can't uninstall or update it either; sometimes the Market detects it as "update available" and sometimes as "free", but when I try to update or install it I get a warning sign on my notification bar, and the Market says it couldn't install the app.
Is there something I can do to solve the problem?
Thanks!
Do a wipe and start over.

[Q] I cannot install or uninstall any application from market or from the \mnt\sdcard

My OS is Froyo 2.2.1 installed in a rooted custom ROM.
I installed a clean Custom ROM after a crash, but I can't install any application from the Android Market or appk still remained in the \mnt\sdcard.
The Unknown sources is checked!
I read in many forums that to fix the problem, I have to clear the cache and the data from the Market application using Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> Market appl. The problem is that "Manage Applications" doesn't stop to show that it is "Computing" therefore it doesn't let me clean the cache.
Anybody – any idea? Is there another way to fix it?
Roby
I sent a mail with the same question to Android Market Support and they refused to answer because I use a custom ROM.
I read in some place that to fix the problem I have to do a Factory Reset. Actually I have done it before I installed the ROM. It seems that I have done something wrong after the new ROM was installed. One of the first things I have done was to add an account [the same I use with the market] and then I tried to download and install applk from the Market and it's stuck.
Any help?
did you try uninstalling any market updates i had the same problem but when uninstalled the market update it worked
or try installing another version of the market through cwm

[Q] Play Store Error - Error processing purcahse. [DF-BPA-09]

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me...
Im having the following problem: Whne trying to install apps i get "Error processing purchase. [DF-BPA-09]"
This only happens when I try to download and install some apps, but others work fine.
e.g.
I search the market for "Music Player". The second app down on the list is "Poweramp (Trial)". When I try to install this app I get the above error. (MOST music player apps give me this error).
However, Winamp installs fine without errors. I also installed an "Natwest" app without problems, it just seems to be certain apps that give this error (the majority of "Music Player" apps give this error)
I'm thinking/hoping this is a problem with the Play Store rather than the at my end.
Could someone else try to download both "Poweramp" and "Winamp" and post the outcome back (I only have one handset but would like to eliminate a problem with my phone).
X8 - nAa Kernel on MiniCM7 2.2.0
Any help will be appriciated... it's beggining to bug me now!
Try this:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications -> All -> Force stop & clear data for Google Play Store & Google Services Framework -> Reboot (You might have to reboot twice).
I've done this on FroyoPro 2.5 whenever I have this problem but I currently use MiniCM7-2.2.0, also with nAa kernel and I've never experienced this problem.

Many thanks, worked like a charm. I tried the Play Store clear data earlier but not the google services framework. Thanks again!
Note:
This only occured after testing out the new nAa-ICS kernel with MiniCM9 rom and switching back to MiniCM7 and an older nAa Kernel.
Thanks - this was driving me craazy
