So I saw the Advanced Task Manager has an update available. I click on "Install" and the usual "want to upgrade" message shows up, so I click OK. Now here's where I'm stuck: The thing is stuck on "Starting download..." and it's been like this for about 3 hours now.
HALP!!!
restart your phone.. or cancell it try it again.. i get that all the times.. something with tmobile network.. dont have a steady connection or something so it wont download.
Tried both of those and it's still stuck on "Starting download."
Yeah same here with advanced task i also bought midnight pool 2 and that wont download at all. I had this problem with Snap Photo Pro i had it downloading all night and this morning i canceled the download restarted my phone and it worked. Thats Weird can google get anything wright?
Apparently this is happening for a lot of people with premium apps and its a bug on Google/T-Mobile's side.
Like i said in the other thread about this same topic, email developer. I emailed developer and he sent me a copy of updated version and he said it is a problem on google's end. Thats weird manup i just downloaded midnight pool 2 just fine.
I had this issue with PhotoSlide and the dev was basically "tell google, dont tell me." Took me almost 40 hours and trying everything I could think of.. all of a sudden it just worked.
same thing is happening to me right on.. im trying to update advanced task manager
its something with the market cuz im on wifi
if your're still having an issue with stuck downloads, try to cancel the download then go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Download Manager > Clear Data. Reboot phone. This should get rid of the stuck download.

I am sorry to say, but this does not fix it either.

That's too bad. I've had it work for me on two stuck downloads, but I should add that they were zip files downloaded from the browser and not packages from the Marketplace.
Market bug. Just tried clearing the download cache. Thanks anyway.
Problem autocorrected, bug is squished.
Surprisingly it finally allowed me to update around the time I purchased and installed Advanced Taskman the previous day. Has anyone else had this happen? Honestly it may have just been me, but if repeatable I may have a theory why this is happening.
If the same is happening to other people my theory is Google is waiting till your 24 hour refund period expires before allowing you to update. The only reason I can see why they would do that is to prevent would be pirates with root'd non-Dev phones from having the latest version before requesting a refund.
I'm taking a poll using fix number 4 for the fresh rom 2.1.2 the apps get uninstalled but do not get removed from the uninstall application menu and when selected it force closes on me. want to know if this is just me or dose this happen to everyone.

I would try wipe and reinstall. I used fix number 4 and my htc apps have been completely removed.
I have to agree, I am also still seeing com.htc.worldclock and com.htc.lockscreen and clicking on them does in fact cause a FC. But I can confirm that those apps are indeed uninstalled, so I don't see it as a huge deal. I don't like using the manage applications menu anyways because it takes so long to compute all the sizes and load all the names, so not a huge deal for me. You think that maybe whiping the dalvik cache might fix this? Just a suggestion, not sure what it would actually do.
I don't know i will try it i just hope it not related to a bigger problem
I tried wiping via recovery and it tells me to flash via adb shell I'm currently running recovery 1.5.2
I have found that even on 1.5 if you removed a system app after it was installed on the phone that it still left a trace on the phone. the way I got around it was just by downloading the ROM unzipping it changing what I wanted to change and then rezip and resign and then flash then there is no trace at all.
im not to sure how to sign a rom is there a good page tutorial for it.\
Thank you

Wiping Dalvik doesn't fix this problem for me. I have the same issue -- "ghost" items in your Manage Applications menu that you know you have already uninstalled.
One temporary fix I've found is if you go into the Manage Apps menu and "Clear Data" in either "com.smithmicro.DM" or "Download Manager", all the ghost apps and pieces go away. But this doesn't last through a reboot -- those all show back up again after every reboot, so it's not a permanent fix.
Any others have any luck with clearing these "ghost apps/pieces" out of the Manage Applications menu?
(I'm currently using ZenEXP MT3G ROM 0.9.6.3)
I haven't looked into it, but I noticed the same problem. The app list must be cached somewhere, which is interesting because it takes a good 10 minutes to load the app list every time i go to manage applications, which is why I rarely use it.
Ok, so I've had this rom running since it first came out. There's no problems with it, but these annoying market notifications won't go away. I've ignored it for a long time, about a couple months, haha. Is there a way of stopping them from popping up? Like, the market cache or something? The problem started when apps downloaded from the market didn't install. They pop up when I download from the market. And sometimes, at random.
And yes, it is raining that bad in Pennsylvania right now, haha.
Here's one more screenshot.
You could try going into settings and clearing market data and c if it works also I use a app called cache cleaner for root users u can get it from the market to clean the cache of a lot of apps on ur rom it has a lot of handy features IMO good luck
Root-Hack-Mod-Always™
I tried that, it didn't work. :'(
same with stock rom
have the same problem with the stock rom. even if the app is deleted and the cache also, the old market notifications still show up when i download new apps from the market
only things i did to my phone are: root access and att bloatware uninstall
Bump. Anyone?
Hi,
I have a problem with the android store.
When I want to log me in, it needs a long time and then there is aproblem with logging in so I can not get into the store.
My browser is working with 3G but the market not , why?
Any help?
Thanks
are you inputting your details in correctly ?
also try to log in whilst connected to wifi and see if it allows, then we can look further into where the problem is coming from, it may well be your 3g connection.
and also, this may not help, but go under settings > manage applications > market > clear data / clear cache. then reboot and re try
I could connect to the market with the wifi...but now I have an other problem :/
I want to download an app but the market just says starting downloading but doesn`t download the app. Do you have some help for this problem?
When I go to Market -> My Apps I only get a bout one screen of installed apps - some free, some paid. This only started happening a couple of days ago. I've tried force closing the Market, clearing cache, and clearing data but no luck.
Anyone know what the problem could be? I'm running stock Froyo.
Go to Market and load SGS Tools. Run the marketfix tool and possibly the marketrestore script. Worth a shot.

This has happened to me a few times and I thought that I had gone into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Market and pressed Clear Data and it worked. But you mentioned this didn't work for you. Did you clear data the same as I described?
Yeah. I just did it again for kicks and now all my apps showed up (and a bunch of updates). I guess second time's a charm.
Thanks!

Had that issue last night, but I did this immediately and it straightened up. I just think it is a Market hiccup.
Thanks, it works in GS2 as well
