u cant use many apps on the wildfire due to the screen size
the apps u cant find are those that wont currently work on the screen resolution on the wildfire.

Please Read Wildfire FAQ here
Q:I cannot find a certain free application on the market and I know its there.
A:Try using Appbrain.com.
First get an account with appbrain and Install Appbrain market application on your phone through the market.
Log in to the Appbrain market app and now install the Fast Install application.
Activate the fast installer app and browse Appbrain for the application you need and click install when your phone is connected to the internet in one way or another.
Your application will now be installing.
use appbrain + fast web installer then install apps from www.appbrain.com it will work!

It does not work, as AppBrain doesn't host the apks, it only provides a friendlier web/mobile interface to the Market. When trying to install something via AppBrain (yes, with Fast Web Installer), it acts just like a hyperlink to the Market; therefore, if something is not discoverable in the normal market, it will not work with AppBrain, it's just gonna spit a "The requested item was not found".

It interfaces with the market yes BUT the market doesn't show all apps, but you CAN initiate a download call for a certain application.
Skyfire and Mixzing don't show in the market but Appbrain does install them for me.

the reason for them not popping up because they do not support wildfire, so even if u do search and find em, chances are likely that u wont be able to use that app.

of course it works. i've seen it with my own eyes
try mixzing for example as Skye Menjou said.
you won't find it on the phone, but it installs fine via the website
somebody should make a step-by-step guide for this ... seriously.
don't try to download apps with the appbrain application on your android phone.
install the apps from www.appbrain.com.

that is not correct. when the developers don't flag an application being compatible to qvga (320x240) it won't show up in our market. which doesn't necessarily mean that it won't run at all. it's simply just not tested.

It's because software needs to compiled against a 1.6 SDK pack with certain support instructions.
Devs are lazy most of the time or sometimes don't know about it.

I have at least 10 apps installed that I couldnĀ“t find on the Market. I installed from appbrain on my computer just as described above. And all apps run just fine. Only problem I have encountered is with some games.

Market has completely removed paid apps

The other day I clicked on "top paid" and it said there were no apps available. Now I go into Market and the "top paid" tab isn't even there anymore.

Use google to find a program called "market enabler".
Any idea why this would suddenly happen though?
According to the picture you attached, you're in AIRPLANE MODE!!! DUH! Your simcard is OFF therefore you can't possibly match any paid-market enabled sim/network.
(market enabler will still make it work)
Your kidding, that simple? Doh!

That makes sense. lol
Took my phone off airplane mode, no effect. Restarted just in case, still no effect. Market looks just the same as the picture I posted before. I haven't tried market enabler yet, mostly because I want to figure out the root cause of this issue.
You would need to kill the process and clear the market data first.
Home --> Menu --> Settings --> Applications --> Manage --> Market --> Force Stop, Clear Cache

Still having the same problem.
to Clear this up,
heres the scenario elaborated as my experience goes:
I am an Android User in South Africa, therefore i dont have access to the paid market.
i use Market Enabler whenever i open the market so that i can see and buy paid apps. this worked when i flashed a new rom and ran MarketEnabler before i opened the market and this successfully gave me access to the "Top Paid" tab. now, after rebooting my phone, i opened Market without opening MarketEnabler and the "Top Paid" section naturally disappeared. but now after running MarketEnabler and reopening the market, the tab is still missing but i can see other paid Apps.
My question is, has anyone got any info as to where the Market Checks to allow the showing/hiding of the "Top Paid" tab as MarketEnabler is obviously not reseting this.
I am having the same problem with my Milestone. Any help would be deeply appreciated!

its the setup wizard that does it for me. i have two g1's and i use the old messed up one (the "Q" and "Del" buttons dont work...liquid damage) for testing new stuff before i try it on my good everyday phone.
My Everyday phone is fine and can see paid apps in the market, never has any problems, etc.
my spare phone, on the other hand, has no data connection, so when i go through setup after wiping, i have no choice but to skip the google sign-in. And thats where its at.
if you skip the google sign-up, your device registers as an ADP1 and paid apps will not show up in the market.

True, but that's not what's happening here. I had paid apps, they disappeared, then I lost the "top paid" tab, now I have paid apps back, but still no "top paid" tab.
I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. The paid apps tab is missing.

Market Enabler

People often mention that to get apps to show in the Market that are missing, they use MarketEnabler. When I do this, and fake T-Mobile, Verizon or whatever, it never shows any missing apps at all. It looks like it does nothing. I've even tried Force Stopping the Market afterwards and clearing its cache. (Yes I have root. I'm currently running CM7, but it didn't do anything on Eclair 1.0.1 either.)
Am I missing something? Is there a trick to getting it to work?
Is there any other way to get apps to show up? Downloading on my phone, backing it up, and transferring it is getting annoying haha.
Anyone?
have you tried "market access"?
without it i could not see paid apps in the store (because of my country). now i can buy apps with no problem.
still, i dont know if it will give you access to those apps hidden for you

Thanks. Gave it a try but still missing apps.
The Amazon app, official Twitter app, Google Voice. I can't get these to show up still, and probably plenty of other pretty "standard" apps.
Can anyone on CM7 get these to show up in the Market? If so, how?
and can't you get them thru the web market? (just speculating, i dont have CM, i'm still waiting for a stable release)

Note: I do know how to transfer apks manually; it's just annoying to do so. I wish the apps actually showed up in the Market.
Its not carrier restricted since you are not coming from a carrier. The problem is actually being addressed at length by the CM team in the dev threads.
edit: its related to (i believe) some apps requiring an SD card and some apps requiring a security setting related to copy protection... I could be wrong on that 2nd part.

So are you saying some apps (like Amazon, the official Twitter, and Google Voice) cannot be seen by ANYONE running CM7, no matter what?
Hmm. Could you tell me, how much time it took for web market to recognise your device after rooting and adding google apps? It was more than 10 hours since I autonooted, but there are no signs of my nook in market's device list. I use autonooted 1.1.0.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm, not sure. When I checked to see if Market Installs would work, that was the first time I logged in since installing CM7 last weekend. I assume it shows up immediately after you register with the Market on the device, but I guess not.

Does anybody know whether Nook with nooted 1.1 ROM shows in the web market device list at all?

No, I am saying it is hit and miss. Check the dev thread for details and a work around.
I had success with market enabler, but not on cm7..nookie froyo and I did the clear cache of market force stop and google framework something or other also.
Did a reboot and then first thing used market enabler to fake Tmo and then all the missing apps I had been looking for showed up right away.
hit and miss is no joke though.
tried both verizon and tmoble. didnt do anything except cause my market to keep crashing. trying to reboot a couple of time to hopefully bring it back up. glad i made a back up a little while ago.
guess ill search for another solution.
I have all Apps listed.

Paul, I've never had much issue using CM7 nightlies. A few Vs back the "my apps" starting working as well.
PM any requests while you futz with your Market access. I'll send whatever you like.
well it appears that my nook was registered through the marketplace properly, went to the the android market website, found the app i wanted (google maps), selected install, it lets me choose either my phone or my nook. chose nook, downloaded right away. now i have access to anything not showing in my market.
not the most ideal fix. but it works for now. not like i was missing many anyways. try it out. can probably even be done from nook browser.

What ROM are you using? And did you edit your build.prop manually? What "fix" do you mean?
No matter what app I select on the market.android.com website, it says my Nook is not compatible (see a few post #8 for screenshot).

i havent done anything besides run this version. i really dont know how to do any of the fixes or anything else. very noobish. so glad this had everything i needed and runs so smooth.
by *fix* i mean, just way of doing things. not really a *fix*. there are apparently fixes out there. but this required no programing and no use of adb, although i finally figured out adb wireless. so i could finally try it if i wanted.

[MARKET WORKAROUND] Market 3.xx access to apps not available to your country

There are those lucky users who are able to fake a carrier and install apps not available in their country with Android Market 3.xx. I am but possibly the lesser ones who though managed to fake carriers using Market Enabler / Market Acess but still unable to search for apps which are not available to my country.
Now this is a working workaround method that I've tried using 2 types of Market Enabler available in the Market and also Market Access.
Who should be using this workaround?
Users who successfully faked a carrier using Market Access / Market Enabler with Android Market 3.xx but still unable to find certain apps within the new market 3.xx.
Tested Working with the following
Market Access
http://amip.tools-for.net/wiki/android/marketaccess
Market Enabler
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.notenking.mf&hl=en
Market Enabler
https://market.android.com/details?id=ch.racic.android.marketenabler&hl=en
1. Install Market Enabler or Market Access
2. Run Market Enabler / Market Access
3. Fake a carrier from within Market Enabler / Market Access
4. Open your browser
5. Search using keywords like "Google Earth Android Market"
6. Click on the searched results and select to open with "Market"
7. You will be re-directed to Android Market
8. Once market opens, you will see your desired app and will now be able to install.
9. Once you installed, I recommend you select "Allow automatic updating".
10. You may restore your value back to your original carrier.
11. From now onwards, if there is any updates (even though it is not available in your country) it will be automatically updated when available.

I got books updated automatically without faking carrier.
But that's not my point of this post actually. The point is even with faked carrier I can't find the apps. So thru browser it actually finds it.
Nice find. Previously I had to revert to Market 2.x and install a paid app. It works through browser. Tnx
You're not allowed Google Earth? Wow, your country sucks
Good advice though, and I was able to update Google Books and Google Music automatically without faking, just needed it to install as you say.

Well you can't buy any music with Google Music, so I doubt it. Can't say about books any more though, as it is now officially available in the UK.
Unless you use Market Enabler though, the books option wont appear in the Market, but with it you should be able to.

I've been going crazy for months but it doesn't work for me.
I also tried to install google maps & services via ourplay from vivo store (ourplay creates a sandbox), in which version of map the timeline is active but does not record my movements.
ive upgeaded to Ocean by OTA
Forget the sandbox. You may be aware that it is highly unlikely that one phone has a timeline and the other doesn't and the hardware or the system is the cause.
The more probable cause is your google account or settings. Therefore, I advise you to first check if your device is GPlay certified in settings. If not, you should achieve it by adjusting your google account (on a computer) or reset the phone.
Another useful approach is checking the timeline on other phone (or tablet). You may borrow one if you don't have it. If hte timeline works, the problem lies in your phone, otherwise in the google settings.
It doesn't work for me. Device side problem as it works on other android tablet.

Did you check if you're device is google play certified? If yes, check settings and permissions. If it doesn't help, try to factory reset the phone and set everything from scratch.
I don't have the button for the verification from the play store, but only an application verification
But you do see "device is certified" under the Google Play - Settings - About?
I can't turn on location history either. It just has in Italics "Location History is off"
Can't select any toggle to turn it on.
In play store it shows my Device is certified.
History works fine on my other devices.
Live View for walking directions is also always greyed out on my Vivo for some reason.

Inspecting the issue thoroughly, I found that the location history actually doesn't work. The reason that I was mistaken is the fact that I use a dedicated car dongle in order to have Android Auto. And all time history I have has been plotted with this device. Last month I was travelling and got zero timeline.
I tried to enable it and totally failed. As it can be seen from the attached picture, my phone is not and can't be included in the location history.
I searched the web and found the probable reason. Chinese Vivo doesn't have full Google framework, only basic. Hence, it can't communicate with Google servers in full. That's why we can't make backup as well.
Actually, I don't miss the location history on the phone that much. But if someone is interested, there is an instruction to enable it here:
[FIX] [All Amazon tablets] Enable/Fix Google Location Services [MARCH 2019]
****UPDATE MARCH 7, 2019:**** If the guide below doesn't work for you, see additional instructions at the end. This seems to be a huge problem for many users...location services not working when the Google Play store is installed. I have found a...
forum.xda-developers.com
Of course, it is for a rooted device. But there is a slight chance enabling it without the root. The most important is getting the full Google service framework to the phone.
Otherwise, I guess, we are out of luck.
The non complete framework is the reason why many google features don't work:
- android auto;
- location history;
- google backup;
- "OK Google" voice activation.
Thanks for the explanations on the problem.
I tried to download the apk files.
Already the first on the list does not install due to a security exception.
I also tried to download the latest versions but I have the same error.
Any solution without Root?

Question Android auto problem? Does it work wireless mode?

As you know, android auto does not work on the x90 pro plus wired (error code is -22), Is there a friend who also experiences wireless android auto?
If it works, am I thinking of buying a wireless interface device for my car?
thank you
Nope, without root is doesn't work on any OS made for Chinese market like rotten oranges.
Actually I think you can get android Auto to run. It's a bit complicated but it works.
1. Install shizuku and start shizuku server
2. Install lspatch
3. Install saax (lsposed)
4. Install saax as app in lspatch
5. Install Android Auto
6. Don't connect any device with USB debugging as it will instantly kill shizuku. If lucky Shizuku runs a couple of days before vivo kills it.
7.. Install package manager (shizuku), and give the missing rights to android auto. This will be needed to confirm the key from the car. Same way kinda as pairing shizuku with floating window.
8. Even though android auto should work now, you cannot use voice commands as continued conversation isn't working and hey google isn't working.

Actually lspatch is quite interesting. Can use it to install lucky p***. And then use lucky p*** to get rid of some of the vivo crap in the system by recompiling apks with fake signature (guess that only works on your phone, sharing the apks will not be possible).
Basically you can use it to remove rights from apks. Doesn't work with all system apps and needs some tinkering but definitely helps to remove some crap you cannot debloat. Makes it possible to get some google stuff working that shouldn't work on origin OS.
Can also use it to remove services from non system apps to save battery and unwanted communication...
Some other working lspatch modules are let me downgrade, corepatch, and disable flag secure.
