Hello, I just got a nexus one and I love it
I do have a couple of questions, thank you in advance
1. I noticed (when watching reviews) everyone has a cool "cube" type of menu. Mine is flat. I do not have the 3d effect.. how do I turn it on?
2. Video recording quality is really bad in low light.. I have a class 4 micro SD in the device. What gives?
Thanks again
1. You don't turn it off or on, it's just there. Assuming you have the standard ROM, if it's a custom one then you may have a different launcher installed.
2. It's a phone, that's what gives.
Thanks. Is there a way to turn off the vibration when the phone is unlocked? Every time I unlock it, it vibrates. It's annoying.
I also checked in settings, and this is what it says:
Android Version:
2.2
Baseband Version:
32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.12_7
Kernel Version:
2.6.32.16-The Official-AudioMOD
[email protected]#1
Build number:
FRF91
Is the stock Rom better than what I have? If yes, how to go back to stock?
Thank you

Hello everyone,
Long time reader and supporter but just now made an account because I cannot figure out how to fix this issue.
Device Information:
Android Version: 2.2
Baseband Version: A1-05.01.04
Kernel version: 2.6.29
Build number: Acer_LiquidE_4.001.08_PA_ROG
2 days ago i was about to take a picture and someone called me, after hanging up the phone crashed. So i had to reset reboot it. When I tried to use the camre again, the camera image had a red tint on it, as if its stuck on Porterize Color Effect.
I know this is fixable because when I use the camera for a split second I can see the image properly and then it goes into the red overlay effect. I can also switch in between all other color effect...
I've tried using a dif rom and still the same!
Any ideas?
If anyone trying to help me needs anymore information please let me know.
Thank you,
p-Lo
Recently, I've flashed my device with CM7 Stable mod. Now, everytime my phone boots up, the mobile network works for about 1-5 minutes and then the signal would eventually become lost, so the consequence is no calling, no SMS or whatsoever. The only not-so-McGyver way to solve this temporarily is to reboot the phone. But, again, it will work only for about 1-5 minutes. I'm really noob in android and custom ROMs since I was an iPhone user, so sorry for my stupidity if there's any. It would be really helpful if someone can write a solution about this problem. Thanks in advance. Notice that everything else works except the mobile network.

Never had this problem, and I'm also on Fido.
At this time I'm running a custom v20o kernel as I'm not all that satisfied with CM7, there are just too many shortcomings with it.

Download getril and check if you have a matching ril.it May fix your signal.I am not 100% sure but its worth a try.
fixed
It's been fixed, thank you for reply. The problem was caused by the app that changes the carrier name that appears on the lock screen. After unistalling the app and a reboot, everything works perfectly.
p.s.: i don't remember the ****ty app's name anymore. but it's related to something maybe called "carrier name" or "change ur carrier"
Hey guys...
First time poster on here and after some BIG help... any will be useful and i thank you in advance for taking the time...
Ok without writing a novel i will give as much information as i can without beating around the bush. Then followed by details on the phone.
Issue:
So no matter what kernel or ROM & apps (or no apps) i put on this phone it is always unstable and reboots itself. Some ROMS doesn't even load.
The phone has been rooted correctly 'used the samsung root tool kit' with the correct one for the phone Australia i9305 LTE version.
I used to have rXTREME 7 which was OK - it rebooted maybe 3-5 times a day if i was frequently using it, but annoying.
I tried the rXTREME12.1 installed fine, the phone was restored to default, Xache & Davik Cache where all cleared and installed rom on fresh system however it would just hang on the Samsung logo... and do nothing.. i have also tried the CyanogenMod and Paranoidandroid 3.97 halo ROM's and they wouldn't load....
Currently i have Ripper Rom and it works however whenever i try and do ANYTHING it reboots itself... i will be lucky to get a good 2mins of it working correclty without it having to reboot... So far this morning it has rebooted about 31 times (no joke i have been counting) just trying to access my email... Not matter what i do, replaying to MSG's trying to answer the phone (swipe just doesn't work) or it will just reboot itself...
In saying this i have also tried to unroot the phone and installed the standard OPTUS rom and it was also so unstable it would do the same thing, however would wipe any information i had put on the phone... apps, data, contacts...
Details on the Phone:
Australian LTE GT-i9305
Android V: 4.1.2
Baseband V: I9305XXBLL5
Kernel V: 3.0.31-1153417 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri May 31 23:10:25 KST 2013
Build Number: Ripper ROM V17.2
Recovery: Team Win Recovery Project v2.3.30
Again please help!!! i am at at a end and want to smash the phone to peices.........
Thanks in Advance for any help or advice!

nateboi81, thanks for that..
I have given that a go and it hasn't worked. still has rebooted 20 times this morning :S
I don't know what to do.. HELP? PLEASE....
Wipe phone factory reset flash stock rom and test fails then its hardware .
jje
Yeah it sounds like you've done everything so it sounds hardware related. If it's still under warranty hopefully you can still run triangle away to clear the flash counter before you send it in for repair but I don't think you have any other choice

Thanks for the help guys..
I have a funny feeling it is hardware related as well
I do have triangle away, and the phone gets rid of all the flashes bar 1... it shows the count as 1... so don't know if warranty will cover it?
On that note of a stock flash, does anyone have the latest OPTUS Australian LTE version??????
Again, thanks for your time...

You need to flash triangle away and then boot into download mode and flash a stock rom. Should be able to find it on the sammobile website

Stock rom is up on sammobile, I have both stock ics and stock jb files for optus Australia which I can upload if required.
update -
So the phone has another version of teamwin recovery v2.3.3.0 and installed the xrtreme13 rom and is completely fine... untill you put a sim card in the phone... I tired all the different modems and it still crashed...
If i put another sim in it, and still does it, does it mean the modem on the phone is borked? and should get a new one? or is there a fix for this???
However we did pin point what the problem is...
Cheers,
Scotty
Dang, custom Android ROMs are frustrating!
FINALLY got one loaded on my Samsung Exhibit II that DOES voice dial via BT. However, there are 2 problems with the phone so far.. 1.) can't mount external sdcard. Note: Card is good and formatted fine. I can attach phone to laptop via usb and read/transfer files to it successfully. 2.) Every time I add a new app to the phone it puts an icon for the app on my home screen (do not want that).
Any ideas on how I can fix these problems? Thanks.
Current setup on the phone:
Model: Samsung SGH-T679
Android ver: 4.1.2
ParanoidAndroid 2.99
Kernel:2.6.35.14 cyanogenmod
CM ver: 10-20121121-UNOFFICIAL
Build: pa_ancora_tmo_userdebug4.1.2

For number 2, you need to go in to the play store settings and turn that setting off.
If you already did that and you are still getting icons on your home screen then you are probably using nova launcher. There is also a setting in nova launcher that you need to turn off.
Dont find settings

I don't find any such setting in Play Store. Don't find any related setting in Go Launcher that would do this either. Also, this just started recently and I have never made any changes to my Play Store account.

Hmm, cant help you with the first problem. I'm having the same issue, but on another rom. I would also like to figure this out.
For your second problem. Try going into Play Store settings and unchecking "Auto-add widgets".
Hope this helps.
first of all not to sound rude to you r the dev but it seems youre running paranoid android 2.99 which is an outdated rom, unfinished and the rom has no future support and reporting for it is kinda usual
Better ROM that can BT voice dial

Can you please recommend a better ROM that CAN voice dial via BT. Every time I use a custom ROM that is android 4.0 or higher, it cant voice dial. I have only had success with GB ROMS at 2.3.5 - 2.3.7
Thanks for any help you can lend.
I just purchased a new (used) Note 3 and am about ready to pull my hair out in frustrating. There are a few issues with it:
1) It won't connect to wi-fi, I can't even get it to turn on. It just sits there and says "Turning on...." but never does.
2) It has a horrible signal. I got it to make a phone call...once, that's it. My galaxy note gets a decent signal out here in the sticks, not this note 3.
3) I can't update it, at all. I thought some of the problems could be related to firmware vers. But, when I click on software update it says " Dm initialization not ready. Check network or sim card".
I have checked the IMEI on it and it appears clean. I'm wondering if the issues are due to it rooting? I can't check to see if it has been rooted or not because I have no wi-fi to get the apps. I can't update anything without the wi-fi working. It's frustrating. I have also tried a hard factory reset and I have wiped cache clean. After reading, I have considered sticking another firmware on it to see if that fixes the issue, but I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about it.
Here are my phone specs:
Device Model: Samsung-SM-N900A
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: N900AUCUCNC2
Kernel version: 3.4.0-722276 [email protected]#1
Build Number KOT49H.N900AUCCUCNC2
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
