Hello !
I use AKU3.2 Beta (v.1.3.2 Beta) for 3 days.
During these times, I had somes bugs but 3 of them need help from "you" !!
1. I CAN'T send MMS.
I create the differents settings like orange.fr (my provider) explained (create "networks" in "connections settings", create "connections", and change settings in "MMS configuration" with gateway and all data...).
When system try to send MMS, it connects correctly to GPRS using the "right" connection (means using the access point named "orange.acte"). After a few seconds (30s?), system tells me "unabled to send your message. The message will remain in the outbox".
In the other hand, I manage to connect internet (with IE for example)...
Any idea ??
2. virtual COM port does not seem to work
I would like to use two GPS softwares in same time : REPERION and VIAMICHELIN (french navigation soft).
So, I connect my GPS device in BT and make an "outgoing port" (COM 6). Then, I went to "GPS" settings and made a "software port" (COM 7) with a "hardware port" (COM 6 --> like my "outgoing port"). Then, I opened REPERION (already config with COM 7) and I had a message "21 : Error configuring port!". When I tried to launch VIAMICHELIN : "GPS found but no data send to soft".
I try to make a soft reset : same thing.
In fact, REPERION works with COM 6 (hardware port!!!!!!! ?!) and VIAMICHELIN in COM 6 "try to work" (work some seconds, then doesn't work, etc)...
So, what is "the connection process" or what I have to do ??
3. switch off prb
Sometimes, without any reasons, when I tap my power button (in order to put my BA in standby), It switchs off !! Then, I starts it again with a soft reset immediately in order to not lost my connections settings and my email account !!!
any idea ??
I think if I manage to resolve these 3 prbs, I will keep this ROM....
Please, help !
Some happy news
Dot 1 is resolved. After 3 days working on what's wrong...
What I do :
- I download form XDA ftp : Orange_Fr_SPVM2000_Ext_ROM_142179_WWE.rar
- Inside, I found : OrangeFR_Configuration_041406.sa.cab
- I execute this CAB on my BA. It created GPRS configuration
- I try MMS : immediately error message (no connection do GPRS)
- I went to "connections settings" and saw that this CAB has created two other connections (mines still there)
- I went to MMS configuration : I change the "connect via" with MY OLD made connection (the new connection that CAB specified was wrong).
- Big surprise : it worked !
The only thing I can see was that in "MMS configuration", I can't select a size up do 100k !! (before, I can choose 248k)
So, I think the CAB change more than the connections settings...
Is someone knows a reason...
But, it works now !
Guys
I am having real problems getting my GPS to talk to my XDA11i . the two devices appear to talk to each other ( flash furiously) but tom tom doesnt recognise it.
Bluetooth manager confirms there is an active connection.
I believe that the BT profile is not set up correctly.
I can go to BT settings and make a new profile , selecting serial transfer etc and then give the profile a name , BUT , each time I select the profile whilst the access permissions are still as set , when I open the services tab no services are selected ! despite selecting it when the profile was set up ?
Any thoughts here ?
Astro1
Go to BT parameter -> services -> serial port -> options
Write down IN/OUT port number, report the OUT port number to you GPS software.
If pb still exists, try to use "Franson GpsGate" or NMEA as connection within gps software.
Tried that !
Hi NewbiePDA
Been there and tried that , the outgoing port is port 6 and in tom tom 's configuration choices the choice of port 6 is the only oje that seems to get any where ( activity from the LED on the GPS unit ) all other port choices given turn off the GPS.
Ive got a copy of franson gpsgate but got nowhere with it ,
It has to be a simple configuration problem !
I have set up a spp profile in BT settings ( and called it tom tom ) I have ticked the serial connection and then Enable service box then closed down ( hit ok). Upon re opening the profile serial port choice is no longer chosen ? any ideas ?
Best Regards
Astro1
Hi Astro1,
I think that creating spp profile is unnecessary, my procedure is as below:
1) Pair you devices
BT -> BT manager -> tools -> pair device -> add
browse you BT devices then you should see you gps icon appear, click on it, then type you password to pair, usually is 0000
2) back to BT manager, choose "new", choose discover a BT device, again, you should see you gps device, click on it, normally you get spp service, just follow the step by clicking "next"...
If you can't see any services available then turn off you BT gps device, turn off you Xda2i BT, soft reset, then turn on gps, back to step 2)
3) If pb remains, probably it's due to tomtom's bt stack, try rename BtCoreIf.dll BtSdkCE30.dll (in \windows folder) to others name, or delete them.
Hope that helps.
re name or delete
Hi Newbe
I am trying to delete or rename the two files you note , I have seen this on other sites as well .
Like you XDA11i says that the files are in use and read only / archive /hidden or in use etc.
It will not let me touch them !
Any ideas of a file manager or software that will let me work on them ??

download and install gpsdash2 and in the connection settings click on auto config, it will find you gps receaver ad set itself up, this will also give you the correct bt settings, it will show you if everything is working okay. and some cool features.
i had to do this with my jentro bt unit
Hi Skeevee
Ive tried that one too .
GPS gate checks trhe ports and the blue led on the Bluetooth GPS unit flashes furiously ( as if they are talking ) , but GPS gate reports unable to find GPS ???
This is loosing me , it seems to me that the two devices are talking but that there is a comms / set up problem .
TT6 tries to talk to the GPS as well but gets no where ?

I have a Tytn II on UK Orange. I intend to use the wifi intesively with my Exchange server for push email etc , but when I am not in a wifi zone I dont want it to automatically use any of 3g/gprs/hsdpa.
I may sometimes need to use them (hopefully activating 3g manually) if I am out and about.
I can disable hsdpa, but cannot find a way of disabling 3g/gprs without deleting the profiles in connection manager (which would mean I would have to create the profile again everytime I wanted to use it out of the office).
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Tom
i cant quite remember, but is there and option to do this in kaisertweak?

You gave yourself the answer.
What happens if you created another profile that is empty instead of deleting?

Hi dude
if your intend is only to not allow to any apps to automatically use your data connection but only the wi-fi try in this way:
settings -> connections (or networks, i'm not english, sorry!) -> connections -> advance -> network selection, and there put "office network" in the both options! In this way all your apps never use your provider data connection!
I don't know how to manage different profiles, as you said, however an other way to control the connections is by installing this CommManager or look this other one with the 3G button, so you can manually turn it on/off!
hope to help you!
Ciao

Just an update that the application does work on my O2 XDA Stellar. You can toggle the connections on and off as and when you require just by a single click.
Hi. I am looking for creating a shortcut (.lnk) to Settings -> Personal tab --> Phone --> Band tab without the need for clicking multiple times.
I know this is possible however I am not sure which program to call in the Windows directory and pass which parameters.
I guess its my way of not using Bandswitch on the phone since it isn't disabling my 3G. I do have a old version (1.2.3) of the software and don't want to pay for the latest and greatest one. The goal is to be on EDGE (for primarily savings battery) most of the time unless I really need 3G for say streaming of stuff. For my regular web access and email, EDGE should suffice.
Any one, please? I am sure the senior members know a few tricks!
Thanks a ton.
P.S. I asked this question in the Kaiser ROM development forum where someone suggested I should post it here.
Try Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool which will enable you to install a 10 button Comm Manager with a button to toggle 3G.
with notepad you write the following :
Settings>Personal>Phone>Band = 23#ctlpnl cplmain.cpl,20,4
then save it as band.lnk in your device
Check here.
Is there any way to create a file or something , for example in Start menu in order to Enable / Disable Data Connection ??
Thank you!
Are you looking for something like the "NoData" app?
The last version can be found here:
www#modaco#com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility-nodata/
Works fine on my device!
(Please exchange the "#" thru "." since I am not allowed to post an external link yet... )
I installed Diamond Tweak (http://montecristoff.webs.com/diamondtweak.htm) in the settings has an option for Data (GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA) Disconnect After... I have mine set to 1 minute. No problems with browsing or Voice connections.
