Incredible S 2.3.4

Has anybody heard if or when HTC will release the 2.3.4 rom for the incredible s. I have had a look and cant find any information about it.
Will 2.4 on its way will they bother? It would be nice to have video calls on our phone with a front facing camera
Cheers
Pat
I don't think HTC is gone to roll out 2.3.4 out anytime soon. They are still playing catch up with 2.3.3 on a lot of phones.

i think so
can the incredible s be uprgraded to 2.4? nothing wrong with 2.3.3 though.
I know that Samsung Galaxy S2 is due to receive 2.3.4 update, the main reason is 2.3.3 is not stable on dual core phones. I believe HTC Sensation will be getting update too shortly.
After DHD 2.3.3 update, which did not go right, i am sure HTC had ear full of complains, mainly wifi issues. Hopefully HTC will realise 2.3.4 update for latest htc phone such as DHD, DIS, DS same time as HTC Sensation.

I don't think so. As you know, HTC is so unresposible and unresponsive to their customers, and there's hardly any differences between 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 besides the video calling in google talk. Most likely HTC will just release the 2.3.4 ROM for Sensation
I don't know, one of there selling points is the front facing camera and until the new update comes out it really has no use except for a mirror.
I think maybe they will push it out as the update wont change much and there sence skin should wrap around it the same as 2.3.3 you would asume.

So does this mean that CM will enable video calls?
Isn't it that IS owners can make video calls through their network with the 2.3.3?
Or they require 2.3.4 for it....
...any news?

I also need 2.3.4 or above...

That doesn't mention anything about gtalk not working, just that he's not getting some of the google apps. Just install those missing ones from the market.

[Q] Best call recorder I9000

Hi anyone please suggest one of best call recorder (without loudspeaker) for Galaxy I9000
if u are on gingerbread the call recorder feature may not work, but in other versions (froyo,eclair..) "total recall'" app works well..
Yep, call recorders work on i9000 as simple mic recorders. Unfortunately...
And there is someone working for that in 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 ROMs?

Well due to various laws regarding call recording, I doubt there will be an official one.
Since Korean original Firmware natively supports call recording, there are phone.apk mods available, at least for Froyo thy were.

From the speaker? or real recording.
One thing I noticed with the release of Darkys Rom 10.2 is Darky said he nearly got call recording working but ran out of time and left for 2 weeks holiday.
The issue of recording a conversation tends to be very complex legally, with the statutes changing from country to country (and even state to state). Some countries/states permit secret recording, others require at least one participant to be aware they are being recorded, others require all participants to be informed.
As Google works to defragment Android, this is a legal morass they will likely wish to avoid therefore I doubt we will see call recording as part of AOSP in the furure.
However some vendors do include it in their own ROM versions, especially those intended for regions with more permissive laws about Call Recording. Also, some custom ROMs include the feature...so shop around.
Isn't the voice recorder in the Nirtrality app (from market)??
Otherwise.. I don't understand you
I dont think he cares about it being legal in his country or any other app capable to record calls.
He probably ask about a way to have integrated call recording on samsung roms without any other external app.
We could have it on froyo because samsung released 2.2.1 on some asian countries with that function, but apparently that country didnt get 2.3.4 yet so nobody could do the same for samsung gingerbread roms.

EDITED:
SamHaLeKe, I just downloaded your Add-on Pack I... I can see that it includes an app to record calls automatically, I dont think thats what he's looking for.

It's from the speaker
I tried several kernels, just only speedmod kernel can support this function with "record my call" app which can be found in market. Maybe, this isn't reall recording too, but the voice can be accepted.

[Q] Is call recording possible?

I currently have CM7 installed and I was wondering whether call recording is possible.
Thanks.

You have to use some third party apps that will surely record the calls. Try searching it in the market.

Why? So if my mom calls me while I'm driving and wants to give me a phone number to call later (for whatever), it's illegal for me to record the call so I don't have to type or write the number?
I have a call recorder installed but due to hardware can only record from Mic. works great in speaker mode, otherwise caller's voice I'd quiet but still audible.

CM7 will never support call recording due to the laws in some countries. 3'rd party apps would be the best way to go for you.

Putting the call recording support into GB roms is not that easy.
First they have to decompile arm binary library files to see what's going on the source code.
After that, they can implement it.
They say they won't implement Call Recording due to legal issues. That's pretty BS (At least for Galaxy S)
I bet, they won't because they can't.
Working with arm binaries require high level of programming skills.
If you are considering laws, you would fix only library files and would keep the recording program apart. Therefore users will be responsible who install any call recording program.
Again I bet, once call recording supported GB library files released by samsung (as they did before for froyo of Chinese version galaxy S), everyone who says "illegal", will add those files into their roms

[Preview] Samsung Official ICS for Tab

At the Mobile World Congress 2012, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 running Ice Cream Sandwich. GSMArena.com got their hands on a demonstrator and produced the Youtube video below showing it off. I think we can expect the ICS release for the 8.9 to look about the same. What do you think about it?

Early GT8.9 videos also showed phone app (and a sdcard slot), so this doesn't mean anything.

Yes, including voice in ICS is not a problem. I think we just need a baseband that includes voice capability. If anyone is brave enough to try and flash GT7.7 or GT7.0Plus modem.img then we could maybe make it work. Unfortunately trying this could brick the radio or worse. I have thought about trying this, but i just don't want to brick my device...

1. Auto-rotate was off, so we couldn't see the rotation animation which is sometimes a bit choppy in 3.x.
2. Portrait mode wasn't shown (which is slower for the 10.1 in 3.x compared to landscape).
I wonder if ICS really brings us these magic software hacks that make the Tegra2 limitations go away...
