The Captivate does not have that option. You should just be able to run a batch and do apps/data that way. It has always worked for me. Just make sure usb debugging is on, and if you need to click the problems button and it will update your busybox which sometimes has has caused issues with Titanium backup.
You need to allow sideloading in order to allow titanium to restore apps. The only way to do this is change the sql info. Take a look at the wiki on sideloading on how to do it. Its pretty simple.
Titanium usage question......
I would like some info on the "create update.zip" option. Save as system or user app? And why? and then, name it update.zip and install thru regular recovery mode, or make it as Titanium.zip and restore it thru clockwork?
Nvm. It just installs titanium, not batched withall your backups restored.

Question about restoring apps suing Titanium. Titanium needs the 'Applications --> Unknown Sources' box to be checked. But, on the stock ROM that option seems to have been taken away. Is there a way to enable it? And, how to restore apps using Titanium?

you need sideloading+root enabled on your phone. ignore the unknown sources box, ATT took that away from us. if you enable sideloading and root you should be ok to restore.
Just backed up my user apps with Titanium & it said that I would not be able to do a restore. I need to go to Phone settings - Apps - & select "unknown sources". I can't find "unknown sources"!

Bump _ cant' find this either
Found this while searching for an answer... I can't see this on my phone either. Any help?
Running 2.1 JH7. Rooted only. Wanting to flash but need to be sure I can restore apps.

You're probably looking for this:
Bah, don't have 10 posts yet, so no link from me. Search for/go to "NookColor_Enable_App_install_from_on-device_installers" on the nookdevs wiki.
Its in the nook color tools app in app drawer

I just installed Cog 3.4 and after the install i restored missing apps and data but 90% of my apps did not restore. They show up in tibu gray with a line drawn through them. If i click on one and try to restore it i get a pop up that says "what would you like to restore" any help would be great.
Click problem button on bottom. Make sure busybox is installed. Make sure usb debugging enabled
Reboot
Ok i just did that and it is still not working, Guess i will just have to download them all again from the market.
Could re download tibu
Did you try "restore user apps" instead of "missing apps?"
Also, make sure you have downloaded TiBu and TiBu pro from the market so you can do batch backups.

Yes i did try that option and same thing happens it goes through the process and says batch complete, but they are not installed.
Tibu is preloaded in Cog so i will have to remove it and try downloading from the market again. I will let you know if it works.
Ok just reinstalled Tibu and still no go. Everything seems to be working just fine other than Tibu. I give up.... off to the market to download all of my missing apps. Thanks for the suggestions.
After dealing with frustration after frustration with apps and HC, I decided to switch over to CM7. I backed everything up with Titanium Backup Pro then did a nandroid, then installed CM7 release 29. Everything went great with the install but I can not restore any of my backed up apps.
When I go to my backup/restore list, then select an app to restore, I get the dialog for app only or app + data. If I hit app only, it comes back and says that "App restore complete" but when I look at my drawer, the app is not there and in TB Pro, it still has the line through the listed app. If I hit restore app + data, I get the message App + Data restore failed. I've tried downloading the apps from the Market, then trying to just restore the data but that doesn't work either. I get the message that says it's complete but when I load the app the first time, no settings have been changed.
I also tried going into root explorer, changing the /system/app directory to R/W but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I've updated su and busybox from within TB and using the stand alone apps. I've tried unmounting and remounting the sd card. I've tried rebooting. Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
I have the nandroid so I can go back to HC and try an alternate backup method but I'd love to get this just to work.
The version of Titanium Backup that I am using is 3.7.4.1.
Thanks.

There are three options in the Problems? menu.
Check Wiki
Update Busybox
Update Superuser
I looked at the wiki and it didn't provide an answer to this problem. I updated Busybox again and Superuser was already updated.
I have TB set to keep 3 backups. I went and did another backup then verified all backup files. Over 100 files, including some that I just backed up under CM7, came up corrupt.
Any ideas why the majority of files backed up are corrupt? Clearly depending on TB to backup apps on the Nook was a bad idea.

I'm having this problem as well. TB has never worked on any of my roms. I usually try to do a lot of searching before I post, I'm usually not the first to have problems. But I can't seem to find a solution anywhere.
I think you have to go into settings and into application settings then tick the box to allow unknown sources.
Ever since I got AppExtractor, Titanium backup has been old news.
https://market.android.com/details?...wxLDEsImNvbS5oYW5keWFuZHkuYXBwZXh0cmFjdG9yIl0.
AppExtractor allows you to extract apps straight from a CWM Backup (Nandroid). It even lets you restore SMS/MMS, Contacts, and Settings from a CWM Backup.
So instead of making a CWM backup AND backing up with TTB, you just make one CWM backup and you're set.
"I use Titanium Backup to freeze my bloat/system apps "
Yep, Appextractor does that too!
If you're getting Force Closes after restoring apps, press the Fix Permissions button within AppExtractor and there's a good chance of that fixing the problem.
There's just one catch.
The backup you pull from HAS to be done through ROM Manager.
If you use ROM manager anyway, you have nothing to worry about.
If you make the backup through ROM Manager but it still doesn't show up, you need to update CWR. Scroll to the top of ROM Manager, its the first option, just press it.
Already hit the thanks button. I will try it out. I am a big user of titanium back up. It works really good if you know how yo use it but I am always up for trying something new.
This sounds great. Just downloaded and will check it out
Forgive this semi-off topic hijack. I am currently running Liberty ROM and want to check out the new shift3r 2.1 rom (but any rom is applicable) without losing all my settings and apps. Will this app do the trick? Is there another avenue?
Thanks

Make a backup through ROM manager before leaving liberty, reboot and go back to ROM manager and make sure the backup you just made is in the list under Manage Backups.
Follow the instructions to install shift3r (this should include a full wipe).
Once you're on shift3r, install ROM Manager and AppExtractor. Open up AppExtractor and Restore all USER APPS+DATA DO NOT RESTORE SYSTEM APPS/DATA (this will ruin the newly installed ROM)
Settings within apps will be saved, but system settings will not. System settings aren't much of a burden to set up though, you'll be fine.
Titanium just updated to do this too.

Thanks for the tip. It seems I am having some problems with ROM Manager making the backup (the sdcard-ext isnt detected during the backup process and i see no status bar moving, which I have read are indications of problems. Plus, the backup doesn't show up after a reboot). I don't have time to trouble shoot it tonight, so this may have to wait.

Backup not showing up means you need to press the first option in ROM Manager (update CWM).

That did the trick. I had actually already tried that, but it never rebooted and so I figured it wasn't working. Oh well. One more silly question: Do I need to move the backup to my computer or external sdcard before wiping the system - if so where can I find it?

It should put it on sdcard-ext automatically. No need to move anything.
