hi
I would like to know if it's possible to push the eclaire lock screen to whatever rom you want? Or install it as a zip or something?
thx in advance

Thx no wonder I didn't find it. I thought it was called the eclaire lockscreen instead of vanilla.

I have rooted and installed HERO2 - Freedom of choice v1.5.5. Cant seem to figure out how to get to the next stage and install the "rosie" interface. Is it a theme? Do I need to download and install something else... is so where and how.
Any help would be...well...helpful.
Jeff
If you've installed thata ROM then rosie is the homescreen UI. Click the plus on the bottom right and choose HTC Widgets, from there you can add all the nice widgets.
Thanks... I think I found out what I did. I installed a different rom since my version of recovery cyanogenmod v1.4 didn't let me install that rom. I keep getting a no such file or directory, faliure at line 80 error.
Do you know if there is anyway to get the rosie interface on a cyanogen or donut rom?
Am I way off track here?
failure at line 80 means you don't thave the 1.33.2005 SPL. Make sure you have the blah blah.26I radio first though. No theres no way to get Rosie on an AOSP ROM.
hi all...i just flashed Fresh 2.1.1 and i was wondering if there is a lockscreen that has the menu button disabled and swipes to the side as well..i have a screen shot to show as an example but since i'm new it wont let me put it..

I just flashed the vanilla lock with menu-menu disabled from geekfor.me over the deodexed fresh 2.1.1 and all seems to be working.
I did not clear my ext3. I just flashed over odexed 2.1.1 with the deodexed, then booted. Then I went into recovery and flashed the zip to install vanilla lockscreen with no menu unlock.
From geekfor.me:
# Fix the lock screen, install vanilla clock, uninstall HTC’s world clock, and disable menu to unlock: http://link.geekfor.me/vanillalock6
i honestly dont understand what deodexed means..i just flashed the version of fresh 2.1.1 thats on the thread..i downloaded the vanilla lock you linked me and it still doesnt work, the lock and silent ringer button are out of wack and menu button still unlocks..

In non-techical terms, consider deodexed as unsigned or unencrypted. There is another Fresh ROM that has been deodexed in the hero development category. I don't have the exact thread since I'm over Tapatalk.

Yep that's exactly what I had to do to get the rotary lock screen to work.
Thank you for the update. It was much appreciated.
on the fresh updater i applied the vanilla lock + vanilla apps + world clock 2 n when i applied it it took away the htc music away & i want it back because i dont like the vanilla music app. i tried to apply the vanilla lock enable to see is that would take it away but i didnt. what can i do thanks
I gave up on fresh 2.3.3 too many issues. No offense to flipz but ill stick to 2.1.2.
im not having that many of issues it runs pretty good to me does anybody else know what to do thanks
After reading one of fresh's release notes on his earlier builds like 2.1.2 or something, i noticed that he had 3 update zips that did different things to sense and vanilla lock screen. You will have to reinstall the rom and choose the basic vanilla lock screen because the other lock screens have issues with sense. Thats why certian sense items are not working. The update zip you choose to run which was the vanilla lock screen plus clock + apps. That paticular update zip deletes parts of sense that are incompatible with the lockscreen.
Hope this helps
ok it makes sense ya ill just reinstall the rom thanks
i tried to back up both nandroid & bart & they both said (error : run nandroid-mobile.sh via adb! & error : run bart via adb!) whats causing that
Hello guys
Sorry for my bad english. I just would like to know how to replace the lockscreen of the Villain 12.0 rom, which is the same that the HTC Desire, by the original Lockscreen of the official HTC 2.1 rom.
Thx a lot for help
(ps: i would like make it directly in the .zip of the rom, cause i sign it and flash on my phone. So i just need the file, and the method to replace it without mistakes. THX)

I think this is what you asked for (the original Hero lockscreen).
You'll find an update.zip attached, all you need to do is boot into recovery (power on phone by holding home and then pressing power). Then choose "Flash zip from sdcard", choose the file and then when it says success, just reboot!
I hope that works for ya'
After watching a "how-to" video on youtube titled "Android Lock Screen Swap (How-To)", I've decided to begin my search for a taplock update.zip file that will work for my phone build.
My phone:
SGH-I897
Build: Eclair JH7
If anyone has one or can make one or can point me to one--that would be fantastic. I've searched around via google and past xda posts but haven't found one that has a working link.
Side Question: Does anyone know if the current Cog version has a slide style lock screen?
Thanks in advance on any help!
Don't know what taplock is.
Congition and perception have the stock slide to unlock / silence. Perception also has epic, vibrant and captivate lock screens as a choice.

Wrong section of the forum, move it to Q&A.
wasn't sure where to post this message--as writing a update.zip file for a specific phone build seemed to be more specific in nature than just Q&A but if it goes there--feel free to move it or let me know how i'm supposed to move it.
To the previous post--Taplock is a lock screen program much like what you just described. I was hoping to just flash taplock rather than have to flash an entire ROM to get a different lock screen than the stock sliding glass panel thing. If someone knows another way--I'm more than willing to check it out.
I would post a link to the video that i saw so that this would make more sense but I'm not allowed for the sake of spam protection or something like that.
thanks for the response on the cog question though.

Before the mods close this I'll give you the answer I think you are looking for.
For most roms the Taplock (android aosp) functionality is achieved by modifying the android.policy.jar file. You decompile it modify a few of the smali files, recompile it, and push it to your phone.
Caveats
1. I haven't been on an Eclair rom in ages, so I don't know 100%
2. You need to have the android sdk tools
3. You will most likely need to be rooted and have CWM in place. I haven't worked out of the 2e recovery in terms of an adb session.
Personally this is an easy task (i've done it a lot), if you post up your android.policy.jar from /system/framework I'll take a look at it, however, I make no promises. Also can you elaborate on what your phone is running? Is it still factory stock, unmolested, er modified?
PM me with the details, let's let this thread die/get locked/ moved, etc.
I'm also interested in this "slider" or iPhone looking unlock screen. It's called Taplock.zip on the YouTube video...but not sure if that's it's real name.
I am rooted on stock Android 2.1, ROM Manager w/CWM and I also have SDK installed on my PC.
I'm not ready to jump into a new ROM just yet, just trying to take little baby steps for now.
