Froyo that works????

Has anyone made a froyo build for the cdma Hero in which everything is working? If not then why not the source has been out for awhile now so whats up peeps. Any links to all builds? ANY i said. And im not complaining just tired of searching through threads, and i have an EVO but i like my hero just the same.

Why haven't YOU made one yet?

Wow. Really?

exactly..lol I mean if u really want one dont complain..go build it yourself.. or keep quiet. be patient like the rest of us. and go support darch for even trying to get a froyo build to us hero users!!
Be glad we still have a few devs around to keep us hero users going for awhile.. since most have jumped ship to the evo etc.... so show some support etc if not guess u could alway go get a evo,lol

Really though, OP... this has got to be one of the most ungrateful posts I've read yet. If Darch the rest could give us a fully working 2.2 right now, they would... They're working hard on it, and they provide these roms to us for FREE. And then you came in here and basically clapped your hands twice and said "chop chop!"
Just be patient, and maybe a bit more respectful.

2. sense u are in this section, did it not occur to you to check the available ROM's for ur answer???
by the way, to the others that have commented.. i don't think this guy even knows theres a froyo version out at all.. i don't think hes tryna speed darch up or anything.. i just think he hasn't checked this forum for much of anything.

A huge part of it is that they aren't porting it - they're actually using the source files to build it for the Hero.

Darch and company are building the 2.2 rom from the ground up so there are issues being ironed out. The current 2.2 version is RC0 (Release Candidate Zero) aka its in beta meaning its open to download and use but please either help fix the bugs or at the very least report them. This is how we the users can help move collectively towards a bug free froyo release.

I think some of you people missunderstand the point of this post. Its not to complain but to get some links all in one place for anyone who has built a Froyo for the hero. And to awnser the smartassed remark i havent built one because i dont know how. I am a mechanic and amateur computer builder.
Sorry for any confusion, just want one place for the links instead of needing to search through all the threads to find them.

This isnt Q&A its a place for LINKS to any Froyo builds. I repeat ANY builds.

Ok dude, I guess I see what you were TRYING to ask/say/organize, but you did it in a real Asshattery way.
What you should have said was "Please All Devs put your FroYo Links Here"
With a message that should have said "Due to the threads bouncing around the forum, sometimes it's kind of hard to see all the options so I figure we should have links to these threads in one spot and we could make this thread a sticky".
It's no secret these devs (even though I claim one rom, I am NOT a dev. I am a kitchen user) bust their ass and take pride in the work they have accomplished making these froyo builds with no monetary gain except that they can reap the fruits of their work in using their own builds.
I know if it were me then I would have jumped the gun and taken offense and honestly I am surprised that there were not a flood of flame posts here because of it.

Okay, As of now Darch's 2.2 builds are in beta. That being said they are not be posted on xda by him (just guessing here) because if he did, THOUSANDS of people would post useless questions and turn the thread into a joke.
Be patient, and wait for a final to get posted.
Or, get on the IRC channel and help test the current builds.....
My 2 cents.

I think we should give darch some $$ or petition Google to do so OR (if you can) give him a secure job providing these generous updates!
What's the incentive otherwise? This isn't OUR work.

I mean, if he can really do what he says, its impressive. but he barely releases anything, just speaks about being the first in this or that, without giving any information, or answering the questions, and etc ...
I noticed he is doing the same thing in other htc wp7 devices threads as well.
I definitely value his work, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but i think he should only make new threads when he is actually releasing something, rather than just speaking about what he has achieved.
Edit: He has now released his work in his threads. I'm really sorry for being impatient, and i hope he accepts my sincere apology.

Now i remember this guy from back in HD2 threads, speaking of development of a wp7 rom for hd2 which never came out, and all we got was a 6.5 rom that no one could manage to make it boot except himself...
Now i feel like he is doing the same thing in hd7 rom development ... first this and that ... without really achieving anything.
I definitely value his work if he can really do it, but it seems to me that he is just seeking attention. I don't mean to offend anyone, but i think someone should stop him from making threads which are no use to anyone, and he should be allowed to make thread only when he is actually releasing something, rather than just speaking about what he has achieved.
Mod can delete this thread, its not related to hd7 or anything, i just wanted to share this.

I understand you , but you have to see it as development for later (research)
and you are right that it was better that he released it when it was ready for it , and not half
his next problem is his language , he is writing real poor English , and you have to read his posts 10 times before you understand it
I should wait some days/weeks before a mod should close his threads .
I think he just has to tell some more what he is doing .
the one thing where you are right all the way is ,that he makes way to much threads of the same all over the place .
lets hope he will read this thread and he will tell more of what exactly he is doing .

He is definately making progress and I'm not sure what you mean by barely released anything, he has released a number of roms so far that work exactly the way he said they would and has also posted yesterday and today the first rom's designed to allow you to cross flash between area's and operators. So put a 02 UK Rom on a standard HD7 Europe device etc, etc.

[Q] Sense 3.0 for Incredible S ?

Hy guys . I'm a new user of Xda forum so sorry if That's not the good place for thread.
I've a little question, Officially, HTC says sense 3.0 is esp. for new mobiles but anyone knows if this version will arrive inside our Incredible S mobile ?

Some features of Sense 3.0 are supposed to make it to an update for the Incredible S, but not all. Which ones haven't been announced yet.

I'm sure HTC skipped releasing gingerbread this month as they promised to make the sense UI 3.0 compatible with the release.

I hate to see this date creeping back due to upgrades, but I do like the look of the new sense... with the hero firts it was and upgrade to 1.6, then they pushed it back for 2.0, then pushed it back for 2.1... it took quite a while.
Still, HTC's original statement for the IS and MWC was Gingerbread in Q2, Which is April-May-June, so they still have 2 months to keep to their original word. the did say they would encorporate some features of 3.0 onto older phones (i.e older than the sensation), and although they didn't say which devices the IS and DS are most logical. However, that doesn't mean to say the gingerbread update and the Sense update will one and the same, they might be delivered seperatly, as gingerbread with sense is already released with Sense 2.0 on the DS, and the leaked builds for the IS are still Sense 2.0

I'm so sorry to tell you that is "NO", HTC had announced that Sense 3.0 is only for duo-core HTC and Flyer.

The question was if Sense 3.0 would be available for the IS. It will not.
They will try to "incorporate some aspects" as said in the Cnet article via Twitter.
Would you call a version of your software 3.0 if it has less features then another 3.0 version you've made? Especially if you have version numbers 2.2 to 2.9 available?
I posted the twitter link as a source to my arguments. As I am sick and tired of people posting stuff like: "A guy at HTC told me" without any official source.
I think this is a good way to prevent forum spamming, because you have a direct link to the posters source.
You did exactly the same with the Cnet aritcle, I don't know what the problem is.

Until we know what will and what won't there is no point telling people 'it's not comming' and spreading FUD. It's much better to say "some of it's coming, we don't know what". See my point?

I find it strange that you are so angry. In the last sentence I complemented you on giving a source. I merely gave a source of my information as well. If you wan't credit for being first, you should have said so.
All I ment to do was, as explained in my previous post. To give the source of my information, and make it easier for someone reading the forum.
Writing this I'm wondering. Do you think I'm accusing you of being a "a guy at HTC told me" dude, because that is certainly not the case.

[Q] {V} Clock Work Mod & More

Hello!
Upgraded my ZTE Blade to a Xperia V. I made a major leap in technology . But the development front seems to be at a stand still. Maybe the phone is to new or to unpopular. Anyhow I guess that in time we will get more custom ROM's to our phone. But CWM was a easy way to install new roms. I used it on my ZTE. Anyhow, is it possible to use this in our phones? And the tutorial for rooting the device is too cluttered ( Thinking about this thread ) for inexperienced users. How do I even come in to service mode to be able to upload my new rom/kernel?

Ah that makes sense. So we will have to wait a while (months maybe a year) until any development will a cure. I thought they where pretty much alike (T,TL,V) so I could use their roms but that seems to be wrong, I guess that they don't have LTE support.
I can't post in the developers forum because of too few posts. But have anybody here tried the CyanogenMod that's posted there?

hmmmm, you need a lot more reading before you can start posting.
If you mean my thread is to cluttered, it is not, there is a lot of information to take in and therefore done time is needed to read it.
Secondly, after a bit of reading you will learn there is no built in recovery in Sony phones, you have to instal it yourself.
Thirdly, read the threads about rooting, and unlocking, all the information is already out there

Before I flashed anything on my ohne I spent several days reading up on things, and since you are new to sony I recommend the all in one thread. Follow my signature ink to find it.
Read it, try to understad it, then ask questions in that thread on what things mean.
A few days reading to understand things wont stop you being able to customise your phone the way you want it, but it maystop you bricking it.

Update: There’s a possibility that Google is stopping the production of only the 32GB version of Nexus 5, as the XDA user above was asking for a replacement of 32GB Nexus 5. We will be contacting LG/Google for clarification and will update this article accordingly.

End of production was to be expected from my point of view.
But "delayed" update was a quiet a surprise because I was expecting at the end of November.
I'm quiet happy that they will release OTA on 12th, that means the image will be up few days sooner.

Yea... Wouldn't make sense to discontinue it, and take the effort to redo the Nexus 5 page showing it running Lollipop.

Come on guys, you know how it is. This is rumor season. A bunch of people just randomly show up to the forum to post something they probably saw on G+ or something. Take 99.99% of all of this stuff with a grain of salt. As for the N5, I'll believe it's discontinued when you can't buy it on the Play Store from a link that says get your NEW Nexus 5 here...

So, you're pointing to a blog that in turns points back to lively thread here in our very own forums... Needless to say the original XDA thread does a fine job of repudiating the idea that the N5 has been terminated -- for all the reasons noted in the above posts. Circular posts like this just feed the rumour mill and before long we all end up authoritatively on IBTimes!
Though the N5 portion of this thread seems redundant in light of the XDA source thread I'll add a further 2¢: The original complaint seems to be someone trying to RMA their device (specifics are lacking), If that's the case he/she would only be offered a refurbished unit as per Google policy. That wouldn't explain the explain the wording of the feedback from Google Play, but in that case I'd suggest it's little more than miscommunication. In fact, the wording of the Play email is rather unlike anything I've ever had back from Google/Play support.

"Android Police claims to have learned that the over-the-air (OTA) update for Android 5.0 Lollipop has been postponed to until..." While AP is a very credible source (and this report has been thoroughly covered in the appropriate forum here already), linking to a repeat of a report is fairly useless unless the fresh take offers an actual fresh take with, ya know, with new details or insights.

What happened to official statements? Are they valid nowadays? Because Google hasn't officially declared anything regarding this... So why discuss it further?

That thread is for the Developer Preview of Lollipop. Not the public production release of Lollipop.
I for one have found info on Production release lacking on this forum so informative threads are appreciated.

I dont even use this site as much Now since Everyone seems to want a ALL -N- One thread .. I not gonna read thur 100+ pages of stuff to find what im looking for.. And if the Thread title doesn't describe what im looking for i dont click it.. BTW i didnt know a Thread was made already for End of Production news.. SORRY.. Not everyone gets up here everyday..

Yep, this trend makes it appear as if there is a lot less content too. Plus like you mention I'm not reading 100 pages in a thread with a title I have no interest in.
Much easier to have more specific topics with several pages than broad topics with hundreds of pages where who knows what page the info I'm looking for might be on.

Well, if you had read the blog post that you cited regarding end of production you'd have seen that it was referring to (and linked to!) an XDA N6 thread. If, having realized this, you still felt there was a clear need to (re)post it here you could have - at least - linked directly to the original XDA thread.

I will point out that the 32GB is out of stock on the Nexus 5 minisite, but that just means out of stock, which means no backorderable stock, which could mean waiting on new manufacture. I actually believe that Google understands, as do I, that this phone is still very cutting edge; and at this price point, most certainly the best buy for the dollar on the market. I have the opportunity to get any new phone now with a company paid monthly bill on AT&T or Verizon. You know what? I'm gonna keep my N5 on Straight Talk. Call me a dummy but I can't find a phone I like more with the features I've grown attached to (wireless charging ftw), a brilliant high dpi screen, and a form factor that fits just right (any larger and I can't one-hand it on the subway while keeping my other hand on the railing). What really makes a phone feel new is a radically upgraded OS, and that's what I have now with my no-questions-asked free replacement refurb on Android 5.0. Thanks Google!

@KJ is right, plenty of threads to discuss this.
