For some reason, if I'm on a certain website, the browser will FC without telling me. I used the stock browser, dolphin browser HD, and opera mini. I am using cm6 on cdma hero. Please tell me what's wrong. Do I need to reflash the rom or what?

Yup I would but first I would try wipeing dev cache if that doesn't work then yea I would reflash the rom after a full wipe good luck

I had browers problems on cm6, what worked for me is going into setting -applications-manage-and under all application find browser and clear date and cache.

I want to use dolphin browser HD on my heroc running cm6 stable but it force closes on a lot of websites. I cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled, fix permissions in rom manager, and wipe and reflashed cm6 in recovery. The only browser that works is opera mini, with no flash support, which makes it useless. If there is anything else I haven't tried, please please tell me!!!!

You installed flash? That's why it doesn't work. Flash does not work on our phones without sense.

The browser works without adobe flash! I wanted to watch hulu though...

The only easy to view flash content on our phones is to use skyfire or a 2.1 sense rom. Hulu still blocks it out though.

Basically there is a problem with gif images in 2.2.1 browser. Gif images dont play at all, unlike the browsers from 2.2 or even 2.1.
We had a thread about it before, but it died. We thought of a partial fix but it wasn't completely fixed because you would have to clear your level 2 memory every once in awhile for them to play again.

Well currently I don't really have time to flash to stock and restore, but I will try the libwebcore.so and other browser related files to see if it works.

Nope no luck :/ just like before it will work for awhile, then all the gif will freeze and only way of making it work again is clearing memory.

I have found that in my recent installs of more than one rom, my market will not download apps. I installed ExEn Hero, AOSP 2.3.3, and Kifno's gingerbread sense. They all say downloading, then unsuccesful and quits.
I have tried using different versions of gapps. I have also done the cache and data clearing of download manager and market. I deleted the .android-secure file as well.
Nothing seems to work. Can any one help?

Puzzled ex en hero???? And what rom are you on now??? What recovery??? What kernel?? What version of gapps?? This might get you help faster. Also what were the exact steps you took to end up were you are now?? And what android secure file are you referring to??
Yea it's Me Again With The
Modified Hero
That's the reason I removed anything gingerbread from my phone. All my nands were doing this. After removal, I restored nands and reinstalled the roms over top. Bam! Everything is fine again.

Running CM7 RC3 Now. Seems that I have issues when using fireat's mod. If I don't install it, everything works. Not sure how it's related. Without fireat's, market works
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Oh yea, CWM 3.0.0.5. No kernel, just CM7. Going to try sobe's kernel next

If you run firerat mod you have to do the market fix. It is on the firerat thread.

aqualls post should help you out. The market problem is a known issue with firerats mod.

I had the same problem before and what I did was re installed the market and it started working fine. Also consider editing your market in the build.prop file so it shows up as the droid x market. This will end up showing you all of the protected apps and such look at this link

I have Simply JVS 2.3.5. installed with the Bullet 1.42 kernel and when/e I would go to the browser and enter facebook or any other site, it would sometimes freeze then shut off the phone. Is it ROM or kernel related because this might render the browser useless to me as of now :/ Any help would be great!
Had a same problem with another gb rom. Its more than likely the browser. Try installing another one, such as dolphin browser HD & make it you default. Once i did this had no more issues. Gluck

I will do that, never thought of it cause I liked the stock better, but Dolphin is also good. Thanks.
Go to the i9000 theme and app section and look for the modded browser for JVS.

Hey guys, I have seen a number of posts about flash not working in the ICS leak .230
I myself had this issue and not being able to find a solution on the net, decided to experiment. I booted into recovery mode, cleared the cache and rebooted.
Viola! flash is now working for me, dont know if its a permanent fix, but it works for now.
anyone else had this work for them ?
Cleared cache, but no go.
OP - Did you test in the YouTube app or in another app, or in the actual browser webpage? If so, let me know what page. If you tested in the YT app, or another app, then you are being delivered mp4 content directly, not flash video.
Not working no flash
Cleaned the cache on the .232 still NO flash player.. NEED FIX PLZ!!!!!!!
Well it works on 6.7.232 for me.
I don't think I ever had an issue.
It worked for me on 2233 but hasn't worked on 230 or 232.
I have wiped cache before and after redownloading flash and tried the stock browser, easy browser, dolphin, and firefox and no luck.
I did Sam's lossless downgrade/upgrade.

Has it occurred to anybody that it is the browser's fault, not flash?
mines working....in the built-in browser...youtube app, etc. I'm on 230
Mine is working now. Just install this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.flashplayer
Open that link on your phone. Select "Play Store" if prompted, then Install. You'll have to refresh any open browser pages to view video but it will work from then on.

There's your problem. If you are not wiping EVERYTHING (traditional FXZ to 902, upgrade to 905, then upgrade to 232), including deletion of personal data, then all bets are off. You have to do clean system install/upgrades.

sorry i didnt mention enough detail in OP; yes-I tested this in the stock browser on YT site, and a few other flash enabled sites, i.e. IGN and such. Then I exited out of the browser, launched YT app and verified playback there.
Be sure you are running the latest Flash version from the market, but I have had no problems since booting into recovery, wiping cache, and rebooting.
Any other details needed/questions?
:highfive:
I just had a flash update and in the notes it say no support of 4.x.x, btw still no flash.

So it only works for one site and that is pornhub.com..must try boat browser from the play store... And that's the only one that's been able to play flash videos for me.... Every other browsers just freeze and have to force close them... Try the browser and let me know if it works for you.... Don't forget to change the UI settings to desktop.... Makes things work better if the site your going too has mobile and desktop version..hope it helps..
