I kid, I kid...
haha if that would work i would. i think they already got mms on sprint figured out.
mms does work for sprint on our phones,
and i already pulled those APK's from a rom dump a few months ago and none of them worked right except for sprint navigation sort of
oh.... sorry
actually i think used the version when they were still on cupcake, i havent tried the 2.1 apk's yet
if you want to pull those apps i will try again, i miss you having a vogue man
I was just talking to Jeff/incubus about that, I really do miss being apart of this community. Back when me and Jeff were myn's and mssmisions testers. And all the great devs before them. The good ol days but anyways lol yeah I'll go ahead and upload them now

hahaha do you have another build running off of your sdcard that you could try it on? oh yeah.... to all the new people that dont know this... if your running off of nand you can still run another rom off of your sdcard without messing your nand build up
Yea I don't have a 2nd one just because I never set up any ext 2 partions and I feel just running it off an SD card will be slow

Any chance we can get the Google Maps APK(s)? That would be awesome because the market in Froyo is broken to the point that you can't even find Google Maps on it.
*sigh*
does MMS really work on sprint? I tried it on myn's latest, but no dice...

you might be surprised, an odexed build from ext partitions should be pretty quick.

Sorry if this is posted under the wrong thread but I have seen other posts about porting apk's here so anyway here it goes:
I'm sure that by now today Skype has lifted its Verizon Android phone only limitions and is now extending them to ALL Android devices. The only problem is that an updated app is TBA. With that being said, I stumbled across this site earlier: http://www.chadhaney.com/droidXDefault/ which has all the apk's for the Droid X listed in alphabetical order. Needless to say I installed the Skype Live apk and it appeared to load but gave me a message stating that it was for Verizon phones only. Would it be possible for someone to port this to the Captivate, and since the FM Radio apk is there too, would that also be possible? Thanks in advance!!!

I meant to say that "I'm sure by now everyone knows that today Skype..."...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
skype is on app market already.
FM radio i think captivate just missing out the chips that was used for it in i9000, and guess that's the same one for verizon's galaxy s.
I've been trying the Market version but it wont let me sign in...I've only had success with the beta which...sucks lol...

What's the likelyhood of getting the BT Voice commands APK/odex from the Droid X and applying them?
I wouldn't expect to see BT Voice control until the official FroYo release for our phone.

Depends on if it has any dependencies in Motorola specific frameworks or not.
I am not sure if this works on the Slide, but you can find the newly designed Market.apk in the Vibrant forums under Themes and Apps. I can not test it right now because my girl friend is at work. She has a Slide, I have a Vibrant. This works wonderful on the Vibrant and I think it should on any other android running device. Hopefully I've made someones day.
SORRY I CAN NOT POST THE APK, BECAUSE I AM USING THE XDA APP ON MY PHONE AND I AM NOT NEAR A COMPUTER.

the home screen for the market isnt exactly space efficient, looks really cramped on MDPI (was market always like this?)

Also let me get this straight. If u update to the new version, we will only have 15 mins 2 refund our money right. But what if we staty on the old version will it still be the same? Or we would still have 24hrs to refund it.

while they may work aosp to aosp, its generally not advisable to install apps that from other phones...not all will work and you can bootloop
if you know what you are doing you can just copy out the files/images from the original apps into the apps you know that will work
So I downloaded netflix from the market, and it says in the list of supported devices that the HTC Thunderbolt is one. Now it does install and accepts your username password, you can see your qeue and it attemps to play the vid, but fails with a DRM required message. any one else seeing this? if you search for it it will not appear, but if you select apps, all apps, free apps then scroll down its listed. click install and try to enjoy a mostly usable app.

it will never work on stock or rooted froyo for the thunderbolt (at least not without netflix directly supporting it). person that said it did on that forum is full of it. amount of effort to make it work would not be worth it. GB will be out soon and nearly everyone has it already on here. Anyone who wont root to get netflix obviously doesnt want it bad enough

Ok ok, im not a dev, but.... Look at the LG Revolution. It is running 2.2.1 and netflix runs perfectly out of the box. in my ignorance, I dont know why it would be any more dificult to modify it to work with other froyo devices. Im sure one of the software type bullys will pick me appart here.. By the way... XDA isn't a friendly place any more. boo to flamers... (will probably get flamed for that) HA

Netflix does NOT need GB to function, it appears as if it needs it for the TBolt but not overall. That being said they made Droid Bionic support available so take everything with a grain of salt. Maybe GB will be coming soon and rather than fix issues with the TBolt again soon they figured set it up for GB and users can use it then (and root users now ).
