Hi,
I noticed that some games does not take in consideration the fact that i setup in my phone Brightness to minimum... and as i noticed they run on their own preference which cause a faster battery discharge!!
I was wondering if there is a way how to master Brightness overall applications and games?
No way. Ask developers

Ok so Manila is a huge ram monster I found that a few registry tweaks dose the trick for the dreaded core player lagging XD
First: ResProxy
HKLM\Software\HTC\ResProxy
"ShareMemSize"
Change this value to zero
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=85716&page=5
“ResProxy is HTC's method of "Pre-Caching" your applications on the phone, therefore loading times are faster when opening, etc. It just allocates a chunk of your memory for this feature. Problem is, after about a day of not soft-resetting your phone, your idling at 90% or so.
Changing it to 0 will set this as DYNAMIC. So instead of a bunch of pre-set apps being precached IMMEDIATELY, it does it dynamically. It will only raise the memory for the apps that you are currently using, etc.
Keep in mind, changing this REG does not affect speed in terms of opening applications, etc. Performance stays identical.
You will not notice IMMEDIATELY that this tweak has worked. You will notice later in the way when you notice your device won't idle higher than 65-70% usage anymore, and won't even get as high as 90% unless your running mad software on it lol.
Enjoy! “
Second: PushInternet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532948
HKLM\Software\HTC\PushInternet\Enable => change to 0
Note: with both of them turned on the core player benchmark was of 48.8%
With just the Resproxy off it was at 58.8%
And with both off it got up to 115%
Scratch that, it didn’t help
It only worked just once and then went back to lagging
I'm a long time user of Core Player on several devices with Manilla & it's never been a problem for video playback for me. If video playback is your issue, rip better video files. I use .avi files sized from 550mb to 800mb.
If I turn off Sense UI, I can play videos fine using QTv display on high quality with zoom and dither off
No ghosting or anything...
With Sense UI on, I have to down to medium quality videos to avoid ghosting. So I usually turn off Sense if I'm going to watch something long...
Good effort. Since it didn't really work out, I'm going to put this thread out of it's young misery.
Hi ,
I flashed my Moto G titan with the latest CM 13 snapshot. took me two days and multiple attempts to get it to work with G apps, C Apps and all. Finally all set. But I notice that the screen is pretty bright even in the lowest brightness settings achievable via the slider.
I did my share of look ups and tried editing the brightness file in sys/leds/backlight. the brightness does go down but come back a bit later to the system default lowest brightness level.
Could anyone help me with modifying this via system configurations. Since the system can achieve it I would not want to use third-party apps.
And for those who are sticking to the stock ROM - The CM 13 snapshot works better .. smooth performance and better battery life.. The screen brightness if its further reducible would improve on the battery life.
Hi guys, i just bought this phone for playing pubg exclusively. but im a littel bit dessapointed because after 40min-one hour of gaming the game starts lagging a lot at 43degress aprox. i dont know if i have to mod any configuration or what i have to do to play at 60fps for almost 2 hours. my last xiaomi mi 8 gets very hot while playing during 2 hours but it doesnt has frames drops with his sd845 procesor.
please if somebody could show his configuration for this game.
thanks in advance.
Yeah man... we know. It's not about the hardware (power left, overheating, etc.), it's something related to software. For me it works perfect 95% times, but lately is more lagged, even with Kirisakura 2.0. And heay, it's around 40-43º after some period time playing...
Let's see future Beta's
Or just install A9. Maybe goes a bit better.
Go to the Armory Crate and under Pubg Mobile's scenario profile set the temperature control to High. If you still get frame drops you can set X mode to Advanced. These are the settings I use currently and it runs perfectly.

yup I noticed this helps me to keep the pubg in 60fps and the temperature around 39-42°C. but i wonder why, previously there was no problem at all. is it pubg's fault in recent updates or rog's software fault. by the way i was previously updated to android 10, but since pubg is so bad in that build and pubg fps dropped due to overheat, i downgraded to android 9. but now i can feel the problem is still there. or maybe pubg was not optimizing their game for rog2. well, i am still dreaming of 120hz of pubg for this phone, and such a disappointment its been half a year without any update of it.
Well I have a question.
Is it possible that the display is quite dimm even under direct sunlight and auto mode?
My gfs iPhone 12 pro max got a way brighter screen.
I'm really honest the longer I'm using this device the more unimpressed I am.
It's already dimmer than every flagship right now and it's even dimming more while gaming...
I really don't know what to think about this mobile anymore. So much which leaks way behind my expectations...
Anyone who got similar thoughts maybe?
Best regards
Turn auto brightness of and enable the following:
Settings -> Display -> Brightness Level -> Sunlight Mode on
Does it work?
Hello, thx for your reply. Already did this but seems like it's not working it's still dim. I also have lots of dust in the camera, I think I need to replace it with another one...
Hello, 3 days ago I bought oppo x3 pro. Phone is awesome, but auto brightness works very bad... It keep decreasing screen brightness to very low level.
I never seen something like that, Samsung S20 works much better, well, even realme x50 works normal. To use phone I had to disable auto brightness. Is there anything like adaptive screen brightness, I read somewhere that samsung by the time learn my preferences, and keep good brightness. Tired this with oppo for 3 days, but seems it doesn't have that option.

If it is the same mechanism as in OnePlus (not sure about it) - then the phone will "learn" after you manually set the brightness to proper level. Give it 2 weeks.
Btw. Rydzyk in avatar, hope youre not the real one
Real Tadeusz here
I was teaching for 3 days, but without success. Will try for a week now
thanks
Try clearing system cache and data in the relevant apks.
Test the light level sensor to see if it falls within an acceptable range.
I use manual brightness control almost always; doing so saves battery, retinas and sanity.
It also reminds you when it's too bright and your frying your display.
Same here. Helped me out with Lux Brightness and set the minimum brightness to 30. Works fine for me.
To me in Realme 8 it seems to have learn a minimum value for auto brightness instantly, I just set a minimum a little above of the default level (It was very low), and the phone remember that level onwards
well, mine surely isn't 'learning', it keeps defaulting to the lowest value, which is waaay to low.
Are there any alternatives to Lux Brightness that you know off?

What happens to me is that the default auto brightness deactivates itself when it wants, and reactivates also when it wants, very annoying. So I deactivated manually the auto brightness and tried Velis Auto Brightness, this app is a little complicated but works quite well, just you have first to understand the app itself and then tweak a little to your convenience. It has a little bug in Android 11, the notification of lux and % of brightness screen disappears after some time but doesn't affect the app itself. Take a look https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.velis.auto.brightness
