No, you need a file browser on your phone like ASTRO or Root Explorer
Are you trying to move the file from the SD card to the ringtone folder?
Which ROM are you on?
yes,i have a file explorer Estrong...I've tried to cut and copy but they fail.

I've never used that file explorer before but make sure that /system is mounted as R/W when you try to paste the file
that worked. Thanks again.but now i can't get the ringtone to play,it's in mp3 format.

Try rebooting and going in and trying to select it
I have .mp3s on my phone as ringtones and they work just fine, although I just have them on my SD card and I can select them
Which ROM do you have? CM6?

Enough with the smartass
The highest actual Quadrant score I've seen is 518, with the BFS kernel and Dec's tweaks in the 2nd post of that thread. We shouldn't be misleading people with false statements

For ringtones, you can use the "ringdroid" app on the market to shorten a song you have on your sdcard to be used as a ringtone and apply it.
You really couldn't have spent a couple of minutes searching? *sigh* Here's a guide for partitioning using Cyanogen's recovery.

NM, I have a co-worker with an Evo. I made a backup of his and sent it to me. It is not what I expected, it makes you access your account on the internet. I was hoping for something like Verizon's app.

You have to use a file manager. Go to the market and install Estrongs File Manager or any other you perfer. Once you have that installed. Download the Sprint Zone application onto your sd card on your phone. Open up the File manager you installed and locate the Sprint Zone file you downloaded. Click on it and install it to your phone. Easy as that, O also if you have not checked the install unknown sources yet it should send you to that menu before you install.

Prepare it, test it, upload it, test dowoading it, make screenshots and only after that make that new thread! And that goes to everyone! There's no need to tease ppl.

I do not understand why you talk like that. screensots were made after I tested, because otherwise I could not do screenshots, I did upload to megaupload, then I downloaded the first time. What should I do? I posted not for money, I wanted to give to anyone who wants one more beautiful than the classic rum
No disrespect m8 but I see some cooks are starting threads way before they upload their stuff. That way they just tease other hungry ppl.
Anyway, nice shots.

Hey folks,
I've been passing this around IRC, but I thought I'd drop it off here too. This is a compiled Eclair Spare Parts apk that I did a year or so ago for my old D1 aosp roms.
Features:
Ad free. Don't support the stolen version in the market!
Keep launcher in memory. For those launchers that don't have the option. Saves redraw time, at the expense of some memory.
http://adrynalyne.us/files/SpareParts.apk Right click save as. Install like any apk.
What's different from ad free?
Other than whats mentioned, nothing.

Weird. The name of the file is: "Spareparts.apk"
How do you get it to be a zip file?
Either way, try navigating to it in Root Explorer and see what happens when you extract.

It stinks when people steal things like that.
Hard to prove your case when lots of people in the Windows and *nix world already use the 'replace the hosts file' trick for this.
Sucks.
We all appreciate your work though, ad! Thank you for this.

Can someone PLEASE post the Verizon visual voicemail app for me? I need the apk.
Are you not able to share system apk files yet?
I was hoping you could send me the Voicemail app by just sending me the zip file that ZipMe creates. Its FREE and shouldn't take too long.
I'd even be willing to offer a reward!! Ha...just PM me if interested and you are willing to help.
Thanks!!

Out of curiosity, why do you need the Verizon Voice Mail app? Since we don't have root, you couldn't have possibly deleted yours.. (or maybe you don't have a Verizon phone??)

Hey, glad I could help! I was on CM since CM7 (and still have CM for my Nexus 10, Moto G and Galaxy S3 (both are my test phones)...
But I never thought anyone would actually want Verizon apps running when they have root already lol..
If I could, I would purge them from my Droid Turbo... I HATE seeing the VM service running on my phone, so I kill it manually every time, since I can't disable it)
Well.. again, if you need anything other VZ apps, just let me know.

The easiest way for you would be to save the 2 files (rename the .zip to .odex) and click on the the .apk file with a File Manager and select "Install" when asked. Make sure you have the "Install from Unknown Sources" enabled (from Setup, Security).
Good luck!
Hi. Wondering if this will work on pretty much any VZW phone. And do you just rename the .zip to .index and place in appropriate directory? Thanks.

It should...
Rename the .zip to .odex and place both files in the same directory and use a file manager program to install. (Make sure you have the "Install from Unknown Sources" enabled.
Or if you have root, you can place them in the /system/priv-app/ directly (no need to install)
Wondering if you go this to work?
